I'm 33. Have been doing clean razor shaves for the past 12 years. Stopped nicking the back of my head when I started using a very small amount of shave oil prior to lathering up my head. Game changer. My routine is: wet head, 2x pumps shave oil (King of Shaves), lather up with shave cream (Arko) then go for the razor (Gillette Sensitive XL). Moisturising twice daily for first 2 days post shave. Always leave at least 3 days between shaves. If go beyond 5 days buzz with clipper before shave.

@@Baldcafe For me it is a safety razor, was difficult to use at first but once you undestand how to use it, it is so much better.. and you get a very very close shave
I have started to shave my head recently and it actually feels good. I have been loosing hair at top center and it looks ugly with full hair. Good tips.
Back to basics, nice. I've recently switched to a shave cream that you lather with a brush, in combination with my Leaf Thorn. Can't say I notice a huge difference in ease of shave compared to a non-lather cream (like Cremo), but it does make me enjoy the process a bit more. We'll see how long I keep it up!
For the razor, it’s actually better to use cold water and not warm water. Warm/hot water expands the metal and therefore takes sharpness of the razor away. Try it out. It will give you an even closer shave
Just when you are cleaning the blade off, use cold water. Use warm for your head when you are getting your head ready. But everything with the razor, just use a cold rinse.

My hubby and I have tried numerous different razors over the years and we always tend to go back to the Gillette Mach 3. To be honest, they’re all about the same, except for the Bic disposable which cuts me badly every time I use it. It’s OK for outlining the beard, but not for a full head shave. An electric razor shave is OK if you’re happy with a tiny bit of stubble (equivalent to a day’s growth) but personally I like my head to feel super smooth.
