I agree that there isn't a scene that rivals the train scene, but the moment when he's buried under the rubble and screaming for help was really touching. And I liked the down time, the moments of Peter just being Peter.
Dion7 my man, it has been a few months since I saw it and watching this review I was like... was there a badass scene... and that rubble was it! Also, I felt the monument scene was pretty intense contrary to what Chris felt
Thank you! I'm 49 yrs old and I cried. That was incredible and at that moment I understood he is just a kid. No other movie recently has made me feel like that. Superman and Spider-man are my fave sups!
Yeah, the scene in the car with vulture is also extremely tense. Actually, almost of the scene fighting with vulture is all tense, chris could have include that.
I think the biggest reason why there are not many consequences is so people can get used to it being very fun and whimsical to a point that when it does get darker and more violent as Spider-Man grows older, people can tell the difference. Y'know how Harry Potter was all light-hearted in the beginning and the finales were always intense but by the fourth movie the entire movie kept that intense tone? I feel like Marvel's doing something like that.
Grave Tellings The second was fine but it was seen through the eyes of children and the severity of what was happening didn't feel as dire until children started getting frozen and such and then the end is very intense. What I'm saying is that those movies are for children and have a more positive outlook, the third (my favorite) marked a shift with the director's darker take as the books matured and then the fourth with Cedrics death and Harry getting his wrist slit is way way darker than whatever was happening in the first three. It's not the situation, it's I believe the more mature point of view that makes the story seem more dire. In Spidermans case, he's got that positive outlook - wanting to always be Spiderman, but eventually it'll get harder and as he matures his outlook will most likely change.
I do think the second wasn't that much darker than the first, only blood was written on walls saying that people were in danger and would die, the basilisk fight was a bit bloody but not a big deal. I do think that the third was dark as Gary Oldman's Sirius Black was disturbing and his entire plot was him wanting to kill a certain someone, and the werewolf encounter is also very dark, as the transformation is seen and that werewolf is one of the scariest designed werewolves I've ever seen put to screen. Harry also has this revenge plot throughout half the movie wanting to kill Sirius Black. But I get you, the first three are nowhere close to being as dark as 5 - 7 pt. 2 (8).
you are totally right.. there are a couple more spider-man movies with Tom Holland to come out.. it makes perfect sense for the first one to be light hearted and THEN the following two may turn darker and stuff..
True...I mean I don't understand why they would kill off any of these new characters that are being introduced in Homecoming...if they did that, we wouldn't care about their deaths because we barely KNOW anything about them. But then again, people just look for any reason to hate on something. Just let them be I suppose.
Antman- heist film Captain America:TWS- 70s style political thriller guardians 1 and 2-space opera Doctor Strange- psychedelic fantasy Spider-man Homecoming- John Hughes inspired teen/Coming of age film Nah all the marvel movies are the same...
dbzyeahh12 Don't get me wrong, I love the MCU but majority is the same thing. Like: - Iron Man and Doctor Strange are two characters who starts off as a douche bag, who's rich and only cares for himself until he get's an accident and must learn a lesson to become a better person. Has a love interest who won't kiss him yet. -They all have humour in them, even Winter Soldier has some. - All of them have a love interest - In each movie they have a villain who will mostly die ( except Loki and Zemo) and aren't really that interesting or good. - Blue Sky Beam (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers) - Have a 3rd final fight - Mostly will have a special guest from another important character (Iron Man 1+2 had Nick, Hulk had Iron Man, Captain America had Nick fury at the end, Thor had Hawkeye, Avengers 1+2 had Thanos tease, Ant-Man had Falcon, Civil War had Spider-Man and Black Panther, Spiderman Homecoming has Iron Man and now Captain Marvel has Nick Fury) -All of them are light hearted -Guardians of the galaxy and Avengers is basically a guy in a different time, a female assassin, big green creature and a buff guy who doesn't get sarcasm or metaphors, who at first fought agsinst each other, must fight against somome who's holding an infinity stone (Loki and Ronin). -Friend becomes side kick like Iron Man and War Machine, Ant Man and Wasp, Captain America and Falcon or even Captain America and Bucky.
They follow the same formula. Just because they have slightly different tones (well, they don't) doesn't mean they aren't basically the same. And it's an insult to John Hughes to have his name tossed around like this. Have you watched a John Hughes movie? Insulting to the man.
Also, the scene when he goes and picks up his homecoming date and meets her dad. Including the following car ride to Homecoming, was one of the greatest scenes in any marvel movie. Keaton is near perfect and more than dark enough. That scene absolutely made the movie and it didn't even have costumes or fighting. Really, top 5 scenes in any superhero movie.
I'd LOVE to see Mysterio done right. It was one of the main reasons I was excited for Spider-Man 3. He would be amazing. I'd still love to see Cambell in the role as well!
Its hard because you want to see the Marvel film universe develop and be interconnected. The problem with that is the creative constraints that come along with knowing that another movie has to be made. What separates the OK films from the great films often seems to be how the films stands alone as a single cohesive film where allusions are made to a broader universe but they don't hold the film back from telling a good story. Good points Chris and another great review 👍
Adrian M-D that's a good point. But also my fav marvel movie is civil war and as Chris said it's basically a "marvel extravaganza " of course it helps if you have the prerequisite of seeing the other marvel films but I think you can still enjoy civil war without seeing any of the others. That being said I do want more universe films that work on their own and aren't just a commercial for the universe they're a part of. I also cringe when there's references to other franchises or movies. I don't know I just don't like it.
I thought this film was great.A good villian,a good script, good music, good fights, good characters, good humour ,good world building, good acting. Its a great summer blockbuster that's isn't just dumb fun but a solid movie with great moments and acting. This is easily on par with the first 2 raimi films for me
As a person who has never read the comics, i thought Zendaya's character (she played MJ) was totally useless and added no value... if they they took her out of the movie, it would hv made no difference.
Thats why I like Stuckmann. Guy is not afraid to voice his own opinion. Just because the majority of the critics worship MCU, does not mean you have to as well.
Juan Strong The thing is, all Marvel movies are safe, entertaining movies with which you can easily pass 2 hours. But, sadly, none of them are masterpieces or something alongbthose lines. If their reviews amd RT scores were indicating grades of B or 70s/100, I would have no problem. But when you see every damn movie getting a fucking 80-90% and thr critics overhype it to death, you go into the theatres thinking you are going to see the next Godfather. That is however, never the case. I would have no problems if critics treated them for what they are, entertaining and fun movies, which never touch the higher levels of what good cinema really is.
The problem is that the approval percentage is what Rotten Tomatoes advertises most. If you actually look at the critics' average score for the film (in rather small print beneath the approval percentage), its average rating is 7.7/10. That's good, but not amazing, which is pretty much in line with this video.
Finally someone who can actually criticise MCU movies without worrying about getting called a hater. Good review Chris, and cant say im not surprised that the movie is light hearted and plays it safe.
As a 16 year old, all of the teenagers in this movie felt very real to me. I know people like Flash, Liz and Ned. It was a joy to watch Peter, someone who I'd like to hang out with myself, learn what most people are drilling into our heads these days: responsibility.
Seth Tenpas I was on my phone and the drop down TH-cam notification popped up and I clicked! I have Chris Stuckmann's New Video notification turned on.
Chris, did you grow up with Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.
To you who ever you are...your name is probably Jorge your a 18 year old movie buff virgin...Yes we saw American Psycho it was an ok movie. You need to stop with this profile and posting random American psycho movie quotes. Get a fucking life you idiot cause nobody gives a shit..
"I haven't liked a spiderman in 13 years." At first I was like "Nah dude Sam Rami's first spider-man movie was good. Then I did the math. That's actually Spidey3 and beyond. So.... yeah I agree.
My tenth birthday was Spider-Man themed. Got the Spider-Man web blaster and got it all over the roof... I was trying to swing all over. Spider-Man and Batman are my heroes.
Cliffjumper oh gtfoh Peter started out as Spider-Man when he was15. They made this movie realistic because do you really think a 15 year old boy would be a perfect responsible super hero? No not likely. This is the realist Spider-Man movie ever. At least this guy looks 15 lol
Oh just like the Avatar the Last Airbender movies casting. More often than not its a bad idea to mess with a characters look that has been predefined, good examples are: - Avatar the last Airbender Movie; replaced the Inuit Sokka and Katara with generic white people - DMC Devil May Cry; Dante - Ghost in the Shell: Scarlett Johansson supposedly replaced a role for a Japanese actor (honestly this ones a bit bullshit but still worth a mention)
It't called embargo, the time that they can release theire reviews on the movie in that situation, so at the moment they can all of the reviewrs release it
What I truly loved MOST about this film, finally a super villain who can distinguish their enemy based on their voice when they come in contact with them without their mask. This movie (Along with all MCU movies) are so real yet fictional, and they balance those two aspects really well. Edit: Also I love how they did the OG Spider-Man theme but didn't make it as "cheesy"
Giancarlos Gallego The fact that Marvel can make such good movies without resorting to killing a character just to force emotions out of the audience is impressive.
I think the brutal scene you were looking for was the final fight with the Vulture. It's not about violence, its about challenge, the Vulture set the stakes: "You cant beat me, be smart. Dont make me kill you" and Peter challenging him without the Stark gear and knowing he could lose, elevates the scene. Also, he got beat up really bad.
@Silvestre this peter parker is so reliant on impressing tony stark that he doesn't think for himself. Also if the spiderman suit can pretty much do anything than spiderman doesn't even need his powers
@Silvestre the scene in the car was great because it had tension. The rest of the movie had no sense of urgency. Also all the stark tech and not even mentioning uncle ben removes Spiderman's core motivation.
@Silvestre the best spiderman movie is into the spiderverse because we had four characters and four origin stories in fivr minutes and i knew more about them than i ever did in homecoming

Spider-Man Homecoming is a light hearted enjoyable slow paced high school drama with Spider-Man in it. Lacks intensity, emotion, neatness and the individuality of the character Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Peter Parker designed his own classic suit, which does not have robotic moving eyes. It was creative and simple. If you give Spider-Man a high-tech suit why not give it to Captain America/Black Widow/BlackPanther/ Falcon/ Hawkeye. Make them all "Iron" and high-tech. A suit is what sets a characterapart from the group and gives individuality to it. A suit made by Peter with minor tweaks by Tony Stark would have been a much better idea than the whole suit made by Tony where Peter has not idea about it. Also, Peter's life does not suck in Homecoming the only consequences of all the dumb things he does is not sorrow and self realisation but his suit taken by Tony. Peter is not at all mature about anything, he just does stuff and forgets and moves on. That's not who Peter Parker is, Peter Parker is Humble and Sensitive and definitely Reflects upon his actions. Plus the biggest defect of the movie is NO SWINGING to skyscrapers in new york. WTH I mean how much more Conservative can you get. Jokes are not funny and writing though original is still not riveting enough. My verdict: 6.5/10 For Comparisons: S-M 2: 9.5/10 TAS-M 2: 3/10
In my opinion, and this is my opinion, the fact that the stakes are low made this movie great. He's a high schooler. He's 15. Imagine that he had the death of a bunch of people on his hands. The character will get older, save that intensity for later. This movie really nails down the fact he is a kid. The stakes seem high to him when really he is only going after a scavenger with high tech. That's just my opinion though
I agree, I can see why they want to make 6 or 8 movies with TH. He'll grow into Spider-Man as they go on and plus I LOVE the fact that he has other heroes he can look up too and learn from.
Peter all scared and screaming for help was hands-down the best scene of the movie or maybe in all comic book adapted movies ever!! Edit: That fat guy character was annoying asf!
Pratik Gedam ikr you would expect someone to come to his rescue when he calls for help but he did it himself. And yes he was a bit annoying (just my opinion)
Pratik Gedam That scene was meh it was okay nothing special at all. I could've directed a better movie I already have it planned out if I ever had a magical chance to make a spidey movie.
gohanson27 they weren't just "good films" they were masterpieces and technically if the dark knight movies were highly rated and has batman and his villains in the movie then it's consider a comic book/ crime movie
09:08 well, if you go back to the early comics there is a reason why The Avengers were playing a big part in this movie. The Avengers & other characters sometimes make appearances. In the very first issue under the title “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 1963 was about Peter Parker’s crossover with The Fantastic Four.
Guys stop getting mad at Chris for his rating. He's giving his honest opinion on the movie, so don't start yelling that his opinion is wrong and this movie is superior even though the majority of you all criticizing him, did not see the movie yourself (it hasn't came out yet for the public audience). After you see the movie THEN you guys can argue your point.
I don't mind down times in superhero movies, those are actually a necessity to add development. The reason Homecoming was meh to me is because it's a high school movie and I just don't relate to that setting anymore.
To be honest when they tried to make it a John Hughes homage film was kinda sweet...when they tries to make it a superhero flick...it wasnt bad but kinda dull. Stilk better than TASM 1 and 2
I wished that Stan lees cameo was that he was sitting with two people on a bench with all of them with newspapers in front of their faces then when Spider-Man swings by they all reveal their faces and it's Toby maguire and Andrew Garfield on each side of Stan and he talks to both of them saying "See that how you do it boys" like if you agree that this would be sick
Given that they had much grander web swinging and accomplishments in their crime fighting career I don't think he should say that. They'd probably think "oh yeah I remember that phase before any big time super villains came along. Just me helping folk out the best I could"
just watched this for the first time and honestly it's one of my favorites of the mcu so far . it wasn't always as intense and serious as he said but it provided that in different ways like the surprise when you find out who Liz's dad is and so forth. It kept me way more entertained than most of the marvel movies so far and that's the point right ?
It was a funny, well made superhero movie nice placed in the MCU, but as a Spider-man version it felt short in many things... I didn't like that there was no arachnid sense, and the suit was like half of the super hero...the suit came with spider web presets? ....c'mon, the use of the spider web should be Peter's wit! not the suit. It feels like any athletic person with a suit like that can be a Spiderman, after all, probably the suit can be enhanced to make the user stronger and with the ability to stick to walls.
Are you joking he does have a spider sense that has been confirmed it just wasn’t very prominent in this film which isn’t an issue or bad thing but he still definitely has a spider sense and for the ending/finally of the film he doesn’t have the super suit that tony made him he has his old suit that he made and the suit that tony made didn’t do much except provide a lot of funny great humor and a person for peter to talk to which was an amazing decision made by marvel in my opinion although yes because of the suit he had some slight advantages in this movie but it really barely helped him in fighting the villains in this movie at all so you’re comment makes no sense and it is easily the best spider man films ever and one of marvels best movies by far with some of the best casting choices, amazing dialogue and jokes and every scene was amazing and the conflict was not super bad guy is going to destroy the world cliche it was more brought down to earth and a smaller scale while still being intense some of the time with major consequences if peter ever messed up so I️ think that Spider-Man homecoming is one of the best films ever made and definitely way way better than any other Spider-Man movie ever made
Bentley Jaming idk if it was just me, but your annoyance just came through in that comment, basically portraying the aggravation I feel when people judge a movie but don’t know how it was made, when they don’t see beneath the surface, don’t take into account the overall themes and feel or ambience of the movie. Spider-Man wasn’t made to be action packed. Tony was hiding him from all the hard stuff and bad avenger stuff in the movies, took back the suit, because he’s a kid for gods sake. He didn’t even figure out his abilities yet. I bet the guy you commented on didn’t even see Marvels Civil War where Tony Stark met peter for the first time. Peter said he had only dealt with his spidery sense for a couple of months I believe. Ughh people need to stop dramatizing errors and just enjoy movies for once.
He didn't have spider sense. If he did, how come he didn't see the vulture coming from behind or how come it didn't warn him about the debris that was about to fall on him? them confirming the spidey sense is just Kevin Feige pulling an excuse out of his ass to cover something the filmmakers overlooked
Nice review! Some very nice points, I personally feel the stakes were high from Peter's point of view. He's doing a lot for a 15 year old and I enjoyed seeing the adventure and fear factor creep in while he was growing. Things like being to high up with out a parachute really meant the only option is success or die in other words he has to really become Spiderman, I really liked that. The ship scene stakes were definitely high to the point where he couldnt even hold it together with out assistance. It was refreshing having a villain who the typical hard worker can relate to and gave a reason to care about the reasons why the Vulture even fights. Great acting and a very high level of realism in this film. Definitely loved this take on Spiderman and welcomed the Marvel tie in with open arms. Its good to venture into a new story arch and give us something new. The only time I feel Marvel has really stuffed that up was with the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, very very badly. Definitely hanging to see more of this collaboration between Marvel and Sony.
They're all the same..in that they're good...not great...except the couple that seem to actually try to stand alone as films without forcing the tying into the MCU.
Rating all the spidey movies Spider-Man: A Spider-Man 2: A+ Spider-Man 3: B- TASM: B- TASM2: D+ Spider-Man: Homecoming: A- Yes, Homecoming is way better than Spider-Man 3, both TASM movies, but better than Spider-Man 1 and 2, i don't think so
one could argue that spiderman 3 was better than homecoming. It still had so many awesome elements from the first 2 but suffered from big structural problems. Another thing, anybody who couldn't really appreciate peter parker's douchebag/purposely-cringe phase, really doesn't get how much of a genius Sam Raimi really was
you can tell he's tired of the overhyped crap we get from Hollywood. homecoming was good, but it really wasnt '93% RT' good. the movie kept it safe most of the time and there were not a lot of moments that stuck out. Raimi trilogy is still better, no matter how many times they remake this crap.
I saw this early last night and absolutely loved it. I understand what you mean when it said things felt inconsequential, but besides that I think it's the best Peter/Spidey had ever been on screen. Tom is hands down the best actor we've had! The movie is also fucking hilarious. Definitely go and see it!!
yeah, yeah, yeah. But did they really have to re-boot it again? The CGI is getting better, but still looks kind of "rubbery" a lot of the time. And too much slapstick for my taste. I still think the first Toby-Spidey was the best.
Yesenia GV Or he just really liked it. Just because he loved it and gave it awesometacular doesn't mean he just fanboyed about it. A lot of people have given this movie really good reviews.
Bruce Leeroy lol why the fuck are you comparing it to Spider-Man 2 and just because he didn't give it an A++++++ it's a bad fuckin review maybe this movie is a B look at the trailers it's some high school musical shit
I think it's good it wasn't intense now because it leaves the next movie to be about that development and when shit gets real , Peter will truly learn. Thats how imma look at it. Jeremy hyped me up for this, but you helped me recede from it and just wait to see what happens.
Jade Holloman Birth of Sandman and the Sandman action scenes are great. And it's a funny scene when Emo Spider-Man throws a bomb to Harry Osborn's face. TASM2 is just horrible. Spider-Man 3 has moments of Sam Raimi greatness, TASM2 has a horribly miscast Jamie Foxx
Smellier Moans Chris said the phrase "I grew up with this"in a few reviews, and now everyone thinks it's hilarious to make a thousand jokes about it in the comment section of every video.
PatToonz and coming out of it without a scratch. I think this exemplifies the problem with the lack of intensity of the movie. Nothing seems to actually hurt spiderman, so you just lose the sense of worry and every hindrance just feels inconsequential
guys please dont go into cinemas over hyped or watch too many trailers, every movie is actually so much better when ur not over hyped by it. People are so hyped for this movie and people have called Tom Holland the perfect actor for spiderman that the bar has been set sky high
I thought that the scene where he lifted up the rubble off his body realizing that he himself is Spider-Man with or without the suit was pretty intense. Around the level of when peter stopped the train in Spider-Man 2.
Its such a weird feeling when you put on a new shirt, then click on the newest Chris Stuckmann video, and realize he is wearing the same shirt as you 😐
@@ericsmusic5927 no but his inexperience and his his ass being beat could've been done better. It's the choreography/in camera action and cinematography that can make it great rather than very dull and anticlimactic. I was left thinking that was it?
Tbh, I think this movie is overrated. There was no consequences with this Peter. There were no emotional moments or moments in this movie that made Spider-Man relatable.
So far, we have these things: Sequel, prequel, interquel, trilogy, pentalogy, prequel-trilogy, sequel-trilogy, reboot, remake, adaptation, franchise, league, universe, series, spin-off. What else do we have? Please enlighten me.
How about the fact that in civil war he was fighting against captain america and holding his own, but in his own movie he has trouble climbing the tower and doing simple "spiderman tasks"

Nah all the marvel movies are the same...
dbzyeahh12
Don't get me wrong, I love the MCU but majority is the same thing. Like:
- Iron Man and Doctor Strange are two characters who starts off as a douche bag, who's rich and only cares for himself until he get's an accident and must learn a lesson to become a better person. Has a love interest who won't kiss him yet.
-They all have humour in them, even Winter Soldier has some.
- All of them have a love interest
- In each movie they have a villain who will mostly die ( except Loki and Zemo) and aren't really that interesting or good.
- Blue Sky Beam (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers)
- Have a 3rd final fight
- Mostly will have a special guest from another important character (Iron Man 1+2 had Nick, Hulk had Iron Man, Captain America had Nick fury at the end, Thor had Hawkeye, Avengers 1+2 had Thanos tease, Ant-Man had Falcon, Civil War had Spider-Man and Black Panther, Spiderman Homecoming has Iron Man and now Captain Marvel has Nick Fury)
-All of them are light hearted
-Guardians of the galaxy and Avengers is basically a guy in a different time, a female assassin, big green creature and a buff guy who doesn't get sarcasm or metaphors, who at first fought agsinst each other, must fight against somome who's holding an infinity stone (Loki and Ronin).
+KTK Uh, you do know John Hughes was responsible for Home Alone 3, Flubber, and Maid in Manhattan, right?
you literally just said yourself that theyre not
Stamps what?
Also, the scene when he goes and picks up his homecoming date and meets her dad. Including the following car ride to Homecoming, was one of the greatest scenes in any marvel movie. Keaton is near perfect and more than dark enough. That scene absolutely made the movie and it didn't even have costumes or fighting. Really, top 5 scenes in any superhero movie.
This Vulture looks million times more badass than Vulture from actual comics. O_o Now time for Mysterio?...
I'd LOVE to see Mysterio done right. It was one of the main reasons I was excited for Spider-Man 3. He would be amazing. I'd still love to see Cambell in the role as well!
Alchemical Ensemble Mysterio was in Spider-Man 3?
He wasn't.
Mysterio is my favorite Spider-man villain. :p
How can you make a dude wearing a fishbowl on his head a badass?
Lol woke up, put on a shirt. sat down. clicked on chris's video. wearing the exact same shirt. what are the odds.
are you sure about that
~john cena
Where's spidey's spider sense? That's his main defense power.
This was by far the best Spiderman movie since Spiderman 2 (Raimi versions).
I thought this film was great.A good villian,a good script, good music, good fights, good characters, good humour ,good world building, good acting. Its a great summer blockbuster that's isn't just dumb fun but a solid movie with great moments and acting. This is easily on par with the first 2 raimi films for me
HEY HE STOLE THAT GUYS PIZZA
Oh no, Dr Connors class!
As a person who has never read the comics, i thought Zendaya's character (she played MJ) was totally useless and added no value... if they they took her out of the movie, it would hv made no difference.
Emphasis on never read the comics tf lmao
She was totally stupid
She was a bit better in far from home
I agree
Can’t agree more.
She doesn’t do anything, she is just popping here and there without the need of her. The romanticism is also awkward between them.
Such variations between Stuckmann and Jeremy's reviews!
Imagine the comic book Vulture costume in this movie, that would be hilarious
Thats why I like Stuckmann. Guy is not afraid to voice his own opinion. Just because the majority of the critics worship MCU, does not mean you have to as well.
Critics don't worship the MCU. There's been plenty of criticism. Get out of your bubble.
Juan Strong I like how you choose to ignore the key word majority
Thank you Abdullah for seeing it as it is,I realized that Marvel is a kids studios now ,cuz they are always playing it safe.
"He was bitten by a radioactive spider - shut the fuck up" this is why Chris is the only review channel I watch
Chris... heartiest congratulations on 1M Subs. Do make a video man on your journey to 1M subs. Always a good time to get stuckmannized!
Finally someone who can actually criticise MCU movies without worrying about getting called a hater. Good review Chris, and cant say im not surprised that the movie is light hearted and plays it safe.
The MCU always gets criticism from people. That's never changed.
Charzhino yeah...Spider-Man movies should be very dark and gritty!!1!1!!1
their building upto that
Anyone watch both Chris & Jeremy review for Spider-Man: Homecoming already?
the only 2 reviewers worth watching
Mini Panini nah double toasted is just as good
Grace's Review from Beyond the Trailer also
I stopped watching Jeremy's reviews.
Warren Agar She's annoying af
As a 16 year old, all of the teenagers in this movie felt very real to me. I know people like Flash, Liz and Ned. It was a joy to watch Peter, someone who I'd like to hang out with myself, learn what most people are drilling into our heads these days: responsibility.
As a 17 year old I agree
The fastest I ever clicked on a notification for a movie review.
ChowDownDetroit [Seoung Lee] do other notifications take longer to click? Like your hand is just tired or something?
Seth Tenpas I was on my phone and the drop down TH-cam notification popped up and I clicked! I have Chris Stuckmann's New Video notification turned on.
Ive been having so much fun prepping for this movie by re watching and reviewing all the spider-man movies and cartoons. Jesus I love this character.
Castleman Reviews god thats sad...we had enough of this fucking character, I hope the Punisher kills this pussy
Castleman Reviews hey i love ur reviews dude.I have already watched few of them.
corey bombom oh I accept it, just think is sad.
Me too ha I'm watching all the other movies and spectacular spider-man, love it so much!
alejandro frade angel Dude chill the fuck out.
Chris, did you grow up with Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.
Let's see paul allen's card
lean chickenwing Oh my god
To you who ever you are...your name is probably Jorge your a 18 year old movie buff virgin...Yes we saw American Psycho it was an ok movie. You need to stop with this profile and posting random American psycho movie quotes. Get a fucking life you idiot cause nobody gives a shit..
.......lol...is that a rain coat?
BrotherofAmes You are probably a 35 year old virgin who is jealous of his sense of humor
"I haven't liked a spiderman in 13 years."
At first I was like "Nah dude Sam Rami's first spider-man movie was good. Then I did the math. That's actually Spidey3 and beyond. So.... yeah I agree.
@ANTHONY THOMAS I maintain TASM series had moments but as a whole didn't like them and they were bad.
My tenth birthday was Spider-Man themed. Got the Spider-Man web blaster and got it all over the roof... I was trying to swing all over.
Spider-Man and Batman are my heroes.
fuck batman. Stick to Spiderman kid
kevfoda fuck you bb boy
They got Spider-Man right...finally...I mean Spider-Boy
Cliffjumper oh gtfoh Peter started out as Spider-Man when he was15. They made this movie realistic because do you really think a 15 year old boy would be a perfect responsible super hero? No not likely. This is the realist Spider-Man movie ever. At least this guy looks 15 lol
Cliffjumper only one problem. Why are so many characters black( not being racist). I mean in the comics they were white so why then?
Might Canon Because most comics were written at time before civil rights. Tastefully adding diversity as people get more tolerant is happing now.
So many black characters? There still in the minority 😂
Oh just like the Avatar the Last Airbender movies casting. More often than not its a bad idea to mess with a characters look that has been predefined, good examples are:
- Avatar the last Airbender Movie; replaced the Inuit Sokka and Katara with generic white people
- DMC Devil May Cry; Dante
- Ghost in the Shell: Scarlett Johansson supposedly replaced a role for a Japanese actor (honestly this ones a bit bullshit but still worth a mention)
I bet Chris, Jeremy and IGN have made a pact to launch their reviews together
Also Collider....
Just Chillin l bet its embargo.
Also schmoesknow
Just Chillin it's because they're not allowed to talk publicly about the film's plot until a certain time.
People don't have to die for it to be good
Giancarlos Gallego people are dicks.
Giancarlos Gallego its not like any good guys died in spiderman 2 (doc ocs wife maybe???)
Eman Plummer doc oc became a good person (his self) at the end and he died.
Giancarlos Gallego The fact that Marvel can make such good movies without resorting to killing a character just to force emotions out of the audience is impressive.
Tell that to DC LOL
I think the brutal scene you were looking for was the final fight with the Vulture. It's not about violence, its about challenge, the Vulture set the stakes: "You cant beat me, be smart. Dont make me kill you" and Peter challenging him without the Stark gear and knowing he could lose, elevates the scene. Also, he got beat up really bad.
I feel like there was to much of a reliance on stark technology.
Ikr
@Silvestre this peter parker is so reliant on impressing tony stark that he doesn't think for himself. Also if the spiderman suit can pretty much do anything than spiderman doesn't even need his powers
@Silvestre thats fine but did he learn anything from tony stark? Also why is the movie so shallow?
@Silvestre the scene in the car was great because it had tension. The rest of the movie had no sense of urgency. Also all the stark tech and not even mentioning uncle ben removes Spiderman's core motivation.
@Silvestre the best spiderman movie is into the spiderverse because we had four characters and four origin stories in fivr minutes and i knew more about them than i ever did in homecoming
Sony: "But I'm nothing without this character!"
Marvel: "If you're nothing without this character then you shouldn't have him."
Disney: "Go to bed."

George Lucas: "I'm sick of all these rules!"
Pixar: "Yeah!"
Stan Lee: "Go get em' tiger!"
George Lucas: "I'm just so sick of em'!"
Pixar: "Hey now!"
Stan Lee: "Hey I've gotta Spiderman House Party cameo comin' up real soon here, so.. Uh.. See ya'll in the movies!"
George Lucas: "The Rebellion never quits!"
Disney: "Oh, about that whole Rebellion thing. We're replacing them with a fresh, hip group in Episode VIII.. Ya' know.. Branding and all.. We're naming them.. The Super Stars!"
Bob Iger: "Oh my kids are gonna love this!"
George Lucas: "What have I done? IT'S ALIVE!"
Disnelucastein: "AARRRGGHHARRGH!!!"
Chris, Please review the early pixar movies: Finding Nemo, The Incredibles etc. Like so he can see it!

This was the first MCU movie I watched with my friends. I thought it was going to be shit but it was the opposite. I loved it.
Actually Marissa Tomei is 52 years old in real life. She's just really, really, crazy hot.

Reimi did first two really good :)
My verdict: 6.5/10
For Comparisons:
S-M 2: 9.5/10
TAS-M 2: 3/10

Chris For God's Sake Please Review Watchmen
Hritik Parmar that's me favourite movie of all time
Bradley Berry Mine Also
Unfortunately it's one of the most Underrated movies
And that Movie was the Reason I Love Zack Snyder
Hritik Parmar I'm a massive fan of watchmen I love it to bits and I also really like 300. The rest of his films are just sort of watchable
Bradley Berry Yeah I Agree completely
Hritik Parmar I really hope he reviews blade I and punisher(2004).Those movies are highly underrated
Hobo525 my point is that exactly. It seems like a big accomplishment to him.
Hobo525 you got to build up the threat level gradually. If you blow your load too early in a series it gets stale more quickly
I agree, I can see why they want to make 6 or 8 movies with TH. He'll grow into Spider-Man as they go on and plus I LOVE the fact that he has other heroes he can look up too and learn from.
I think Chris got too used to skybeams.
Kal Heisenberg maybe, but you can still tell that Peter felt the stakes, and you still want him to win.
i like getting stuckmannised by daddy chris everyday
"Whatever, It's a spiderman movie, He was bit by a radioactive spider, Shut the fuck up"

It was good, but I prefer this one.
No Way Home now lol
@@ryanleadbitter7749 yessir, can't wait. Just two more months
Peter all scared and screaming for help was hands-down the best scene of the movie or maybe in all comic book adapted movies ever!!
Edit: That fat guy character was annoying asf!
Pratik Gedam I found him funny
That's surprising cause i found him to be a pretty funny and likeable character.
EpIcyA _ LOL HAHAHA
Can we just separate Spider-Man and Spider - Man 2 from the rest? Those movies are by far superior from a lot of comic book films.
gohanson27 the dark knight trilogy is better
Dark Knight Trilogy were good films but terrible comic book movies since it's base on a comic character.
gohanson27 they weren't just "good films" they were masterpieces and technically if the dark knight movies were highly rated and has batman and his villains in the movie then it's consider a comic book/ crime movie
You like boring non-quippy emo Spidey? Ok, lol
Commander Shepard thats your opinion that they are cringy, not a fact. You just see it that way.
I like the moments of downtime in Superhero movies so i'll probably love this film.
Sometimes down time is good, but other times (Iron Man 2) it can be boring.
this movie is NOT the best spidey movie so why not wait ? spiderman 2 still undefeated
I'll like to go downtime on you
09:08 well, if you go back to the early comics there is a reason why The Avengers were playing a big part in this movie.
The reason Homecoming was meh to me is because it's a high school movie and I just don't relate to that setting anymore.
sucks for you
To be honest when they tried to make it a John Hughes homage film was kinda sweet...when they tries to make it a superhero flick...it wasnt bad but kinda dull. Stilk better than TASM 1 and 2
I'm pretty sure that when the MCU comes to a close Spider-Man will be a grown man. You gotta start somewhere, you know.
canuck21 who cares
I am a simple man. I see a Chris Stuckmann video, i click.
The Ren Formula no, you’re a ren formula
Simple man doesn't leave a comment
"Very original"
I wished that Stan lees cameo was that he was sitting with two people on a bench with all of them with newspapers in front of their faces then when Spider-Man swings by they all reveal their faces and it's Toby maguire and Andrew Garfield on each side of Stan and he talks to both of them saying "See that how you do it boys" like if you agree that this would be sick
Given that they had much grander web swinging and accomplishments in their crime fighting career I don't think he should say that. They'd probably think "oh yeah I remember that phase before any big time super villains came along. Just me helping folk out the best I could"
I need that scene NOW
That would be a slap in the face to both of them, I wouldn't like that
Nigga what?! Thats retarded 😂😂😂
They kicked way more ass and Tobey has had such iconic moments that it wouldn't make any sense. Do you logic?
just watched this for the first time and honestly it's one of my favorites of the mcu so far . it wasn't always as intense and serious as he said but it provided that in different ways like the surprise when you find out who Liz's dad is and so forth.
Bentley Jaming punctuation
He didn't have spider sense. If he did, how come he didn't see the vulture coming from behind or how come it didn't warn him about the debris that was about to fall on him? them confirming the spidey sense is just Kevin Feige pulling an excuse out of his ass to cover something the filmmakers overlooked
TobiAnimados spider man's still new to his powers but he has spider sense but doesn't know how to use it when he's older he can actually use it.
You grew up with Spiderman? No Way!
Nice review!
Some very nice points,
I personally feel the stakes were high from Peter's point of view.
I am very excited for Birdman 2: Homecoming

I think Chris is starting to feel some MCU/Comic book movie fatigue!
The same fatigue that many U's are having. :)
They're all the same..in that they're good...not great...except the couple that seem to actually try to stand alone as films without forcing the tying into the MCU.
Kristopher Van Zandt Iron Man 3 got backlash because it sucked horribly, not for taking risk.
And now dc is doing the same thing
Everyone should be feeling it, honestly
For all those who just want the grade, he gave it a *"B"*.
leonthesleepy what i expected it to be
Apocalypse got an A- and that movie sucks. So don't really care.
Same here. I expected something decent, but nothing special.
leonthesleepy thank you!
Matt L Apocalypse was awesome it deserved an A-😉!
Rating all the spidey movies
Spider-Man: A
Spider-Man 2: A+
Spider-Man 3: B-
TASM: B-
TASM2: D+
Spider-Man: Homecoming: A-
Yes, Homecoming is way better than Spider-Man 3, both TASM movies, but better than Spider-Man 1 and 2, i don't think so
Kevin White Byrne
I think Homecoming should be a B
i'll give it B+. But i agree with ya
spiderman homecoming deserves C and below... they ruined the lore material
one could argue that spiderman 3 was better than homecoming. It still had so many awesome elements from the first 2 but suffered from big structural problems. Another thing, anybody who couldn't really appreciate peter parker's douchebag/purposely-cringe phase, really doesn't get how much of a genius Sam Raimi really was
Chris looks so disappointed
you can tell he's tired of the overhyped crap we get from Hollywood. homecoming was good, but it really wasnt '93% RT' good. the movie kept it safe most of the time and there were not a lot of moments that stuck out. Raimi trilogy is still better, no matter how many times they remake this crap.
That says it all -Tobey Maguire' Spider man will always be the best Spider Man movie
I saw this early last night and absolutely loved it. I understand what you mean when it said things felt inconsequential, but besides that I think it's the best Peter/Spidey had ever been on screen. Tom is hands down the best actor we've had! The movie is also fucking hilarious. Definitely go and see it!!
yep definitely good but spidey 2 still the better film
yeah, yeah, yeah. But did they really have to re-boot it again? The CGI is getting better, but still looks kind of "rubbery" a lot of the time. And too much slapstick for my taste. I still think the first Toby-Spidey was the best.
Me too
Tobey suit was great
liked this review more than Jeremy's , he went full fan boy. great review Chris!!
That is par for the course with Jeremy
Yesenia GV Or he just really liked it. Just because he loved it and gave it awesometacular doesn't mean he just fanboyed about it. A lot of people have given this movie really good reviews.
Yeah I agree. He didn't point out a single flaw.
Actually, this is one of the worst reviews I've seen of this movie. It is currently pulling an 8.2 on imdb which is about a point higher than SM2
Bruce Leeroy lol why the fuck are you comparing it to Spider-Man 2 and just because he didn't give it an A++++++ it's a bad fuckin review maybe this movie is a B look at the trailers it's some high school musical shit
Pretty good and fun movie. The last after the credits scene was awesome.
I think it's good it wasn't intense now because it leaves the next movie to be about that development and when shit gets real , Peter will truly learn. Thats how imma look at it. Jeremy hyped me up for this, but you helped me recede from it and just wait to see what happens.
That driving scene wasn't in the UK version I saw.... lol!! interesting.
Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckmann should review a movie together.
Jeremy Stuckmann Movie Fucking don't forget about Grace from Beyond the Trailer!
Why? They're like the worst movie critics on TH-cam, specially Jeremy. If you want good critics take a look at ralphthemoviemaker or IHE
The ones you said to look at are worse
TheTarantuRoach those are virginal fanboys
No. Theyy are like opposites.
My Opinion:
Spider Man 2
Spider Man
Spider Man Homecoming
The Amazing Spider-Man
Spider Man 3
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Commander Shepard Relax man. Their just movies
S3 is the worst Spider-Man film. I don't understand why people defend it so much.
Jade Holloman Birth of
Sandman and the Sandman action scenes are great. And it's a funny scene when Emo Spider-Man throws a bomb to Harry Osborn's face. TASM2 is just horrible. Spider-Man 3 has moments of Sam Raimi greatness, TASM2 has a horribly miscast Jamie Foxx
Stasss mary jane?
Stasss hmmm who is this mary jane?
"i grew up with spiders and i grew up with a man so this film is close to my heart"
Ethian Woodford Go fuck yourself
Smellier Moans Chris said the phrase "I grew up with this"in a few reviews, and now everyone thinks it's hilarious to make a thousand jokes about it in the comment section of every video.
Smellier Moans They're so old, lmao. So old, it actually hurts when you see one. They're also really stupid.
Smellier Moans chris has said in many of his videos that he grew up loving a certain property/franchise/character and it became a meme
lmaoo
Stepped out felling completely the same with chris.Intensity was the thing i was searching for.Great review once again man!
Anyone else find it absolutely hilarious that Micheal Keaton is playing the Vulture?
"i was hoping for some intensity and a real body count" its the fuckin mcu, i gave up hoping for those things years ago
Because apparently by your logic, there needs to be a body count in a Spiderman movie for it to be good. That's dumb logic.
He stopped a plane from crashing into an amusement park, I'm glad he saved hundreds of lives rather than just stopping a threat.
PatToonz and coming out of it without a scratch. I think this exemplifies the problem with the lack of intensity of the movie. Nothing seems to actually hurt spiderman, so you just lose the sense of worry and every hindrance just feels inconsequential
Since when did the MCU have a low death count? Only Ant-Man and Homecoming have low death counts
The marvel cinematic universe it lit and its nice when the movies have connection
guys please dont go into cinemas over hyped or watch too many trailers, every movie is actually so much better when ur not over hyped by it.
Still prefer the old Spiderman with Tobey tbh even if the future movies are really good.
Its such a weird feeling when you put on a new shirt, then click on the newest Chris Stuckmann video, and realize he is wearing the same shirt as you 😐
never clicked on a video so quickly
I thought it was pretty meh. While I loved every scene with Peter Parker in it, the action scenes with Spider-Man were extremely underwhelming.
He is 15 in the movie lol, he is going to kick ass like James bond overnight
@@ericsmusic5927 no but his inexperience and his his ass being beat could've been done better. It's the choreography/in camera action and cinematography that can make it great rather than very dull and anticlimactic. I was left thinking that was it?
I thought it was great that they actually showed that he kept going even when he got his ass kicked, especially in the finale
@@ericsmusic5927 he kicked ass in civil war
Leon the Professional review please!
Steven Ortiz no need for a review, it's an A+
Valerian is coming out in a few weeks, that's not a bad idea.
Add The Fifth Element and Lucy to that...
Christopher Lee They used to say a "reimagining".
lol good one!
How about the fact that in civil war he was fighting against captain america and holding his own, but in his own movie he has trouble climbing the tower and doing simple "spiderman tasks"
who feels relieved that this was not iron man 4 and not a typical MCU villain.
My only problem with Tom's Spidey is STARK TECHS!!
Chris, you know a ''B'' grade means fanboys are coming...
I see a lot of these comments and yet fail to see any "fanboys"
plus every body else been giving it 9/10 chris the only one that gave it a 8/10
nicolas prieto A "B" equals 7/10
these dc fanboys are getting too cocky over wonder woman.
a B equals 8 or 7.5.
"Gentlemen, there is this thing for you if you have or perceive to have a small penis. It's called an Audi convertible." - Jimmy Carr
This joke was playing through my head the whole time. Haha.
