While Mysterio being the villain was obvious from the start, him not actually being from an alternate reality was definitely a twist I can appreciate.

I kind of expected the alternate universe to be a lie as well. Mysterio is known for being a showman. It made sense that he'd make up an elaborate, overly dramatic backstory to go with his role.
Actually, despite knowing Mysterio from the comics and animated shows and video games, I did see the possibility that movie Mysterio could be a hero, or at the very least start out as one. After all, that's what they did with Mordo.

@@deborahhanna6640 yeah, something usually not mentioned is that even though alt universe Loki and Gamora are still alive, the Loki and Gamora we and the other movie characters grew to love and who actually grew from those people into better, more mature, good(ish) guys are dead. So the Loki that lost his mother and father and planet, the one that showed up to rescue his brother in the end, is dead. The Gamora that became apart of the Guardian's family and the one that changed Nebula, is dead.
The current ones will never have the experiences that made them who they were by the end of Phase III because they are no longer in those universes. It'll be interesting to see if Marvel acknowledges and addresses that whenever they show up again.
The fact that flash almost died how many times on this trip and his parents didn't call him once or show up to get him from the airport, yikes man 😔🤦🏽♀️

Marvel: So Peter Parker's only 16, and he's lost his parents, uncle, and his father figure/mentor. His homecoming date's dad dropped a building on him and he almost died; then he went to space , fought a giant wrinkly grape and _actually died_ in the _arms of his mentor_ . He then came back five years later only to watch said mentor DIE SAVING THE UNIVERSE. And as soon as he gets home, he's recruited to help with a world-destroying threat that he doesn't even WANT to be involved in, despite being traumatized and blaming himself for everything. Finally, he meets a new mentor/father figure who earns his trust and then BETRAYS HIM.

And did we forget that we totally screwed up all math with the Snap in Infinity War? Because no one in "Far from Home" should still be in Highschool. Peter was 15 in "Homecoming" and "Civil War". "Infinity War" took place about one year later. Perhaps even two, it's not totally clear. Then 5 years pass until "Endgame". So Peter having been snapped away is still 16 or 17. But everybody else in his school who was not snapped away is now at least 21 or 22 and should be in college by the time he returns at the end of Endgame.

My largest issue with the movie is that they spend a good portion of the running time setting up a twist you know about before you even went into the theatre.

I was hesitant about him being the big bad at first, but they really did the villain right. It was done perfectly imo.

Have Peter at the first act climax of Spider-Man 3/4 fight a mind controlled Ned/Hobgoblin. This will motivate him to find the real Hobgoblin and clear his friends name. It would be really cool to see a mystery with all these red herrings, like in the comics.

That ending _ruined_ the rest of the movie. They've essentially condemned everyone Peter knows to death by Spider-Man villain, and I'm having more and more trouble believing they're smart enough to notice what they've done.
I was indeed quite shook. Not because they managed to worm Jameson into the MCU, but because they were dumb enough to do it.

It wasn't the same way Flash would call Peter that and at homecoming when she flicked him off she did it as a greeting because she raises her hand to wave then smiles as she flicks him off so it was just her way of saying hello. Even when he called her pretty and she replied with "therefore I have value"? not even a couple seconds later she said she was joking and thanked him for the compliment and told him he looked pretty too. If anything Mj is super nice she stuck up for Peter when Flash was making fun of him on the airplane and when Brad was trying to expose him near the end she flipped it around to try to expose Brad instead. Also when the fight was over she literally ran over to Peter not knowing if it was 100% safe and brought a Mace to try to help him even though she knows he is strong and capable but she was the first one to run over to him and try to help him and make sure he is okay. Plus she had Brad after her and never once did she flirt with Brad just to make Peter jealous. Even though Peter was already jealous lol but that was not because of Mj that was because Brad was making all the moves and she never reciprocated. Even though she never liked Brad she could have used this opportunity to flirt or make him jealous (I am not saying if she did do that it would make her mean ) but she doesn't if anything she is an angel .

Tho is does irritate me that every Spider-Man villain so far in the Mcu has a more personal connection to Tony, rather than you know, the titular character. I swear if the next villain's motivation is that Tony took the last donut from the break room I'm gonna punch someone.
