There is no RTV issue. Not a single documented case of any kind of failure that was actually related to RTV. People blow their engines doing something stupid. Then they open the oil pan and find RTV. So naturally, rather than blame their stupidity, they blame the RTV. There are tests all over the forums showing there is no pressure loss from RTV. Even the most extreme cases seen, showed zero difference in data logged oil pressure readings under the most extreme track conditions. Its is a non issue that the internet has their panties all in a bunch over. 3
Its 5 times larger than previous gen so the RTV hasnt really been an issue and any issues related to it is somewhat rare. Just the oil starvation on hard rights is the issue now which seems to be related mainly to the oilpan being too small. The new pickup tube has a 5 sided filter and this guy seems to never tell anyone that so even if it appears to be 100% clogged when you look through the pickup tube hole, there are 4 other sides that this guy doesn't show or mention where the oil can pass through without an issue. Still, clean it out for good measure at around 5k miles and from there I wouldn't worry about the RTV. For the record, yes, we shouldn't have to deal with RTV, but the pickup tube clearly was designed to compensate for the new manufacturing process of modern engines that will likely not change any time soon. Subaru isn't the only one that over-applies RTV, unfortunately.
@@JupiterxBluesThis guy is fear mongering to get views and business. Just look at his thumbnails, you would understand. There are other more genuine youtubers who have dropped the pan found some RTV and mentioned exactly what you wrote in your comment. RTV is there but 99% wont cause engine failure. This guy is scam. Getting gr86 to his garages dropping the oan voiding warranty and charging customers.
Glad to see an actual gasket for the oil pan!
Only after how many years lol
Gaskets leak. RTV doesnt.
@@boost331 RTV doesn't leak?
Those quick change places are like play Russian roulette with which idiot you'll get to change the oil.
Class action lawsuit against Toyota!!!
From GR86 any information?
I hope someone replies.. does anyone know if the rtv issues are towards the older models ? Like the GT86 2020 and below ?

My pick up was 100% blocked and still somehow had good oil pressure. There must be a bypass built in. That gasket is nice! Definitely picking one up.

Can you drop a link where to buy that gasket please?

What's "the normal" oil consumption for a new / 5,000 miles) - 2024 BRZ / GR86??
Subaru's official spec is 1qt in 1300 miles. Ive seen between 1 qt and 1/2 qt consumed in 5000 miles
