    Thanks man- that emergency release is an awesome idea. I have a 1967 Porsche 912 and on those early cars you have to remove the front bumper and drill a hole in the front panel body panel- and the hope that you can poke around in there and open it- don’t ask me how I know. 😵‍💫

    With the little rubber nipple on the firewall connecting the cabin to the engine bay did you just cut it out or did it have a way to be removed besides brute force? Gonna be doing this job myself soon so if you can clarify that’d be appreciated, thank you!

      Thanks for watching!! Good question. I can’t remember since it’s been a while. I don’t think I cut anything.
      I just re-watched the video and now I remember, I used a tiny flat blade screwdriver and worked to fold the grommet into the opening. You could probably cut the grommet as well to help force it through the hole. I think you’re talking about the grommet that surrounds the cable? I hope this helps. If not, lmk.

      edit: just rewatched and you did end up removing it using the new seal, but did you just remove the old one by ripping it out? And then for the new one did it just hold itself via friction/tension?
      Makes sense, however since the new cable comes with a new grommet did you just leave it on after getting the old cable out and reuse it? or did you completely remove it via pulling or cutting it out to make room for the new one? If its the latter, did the new one just kind of hold itself in place or did it need some sort of adhesive or screws?
      One more question though, I was also wondering where do you personally jack your e30 up? I always get varying and/or conflicting results but you know what youre doing and have firsthand experience, so if you got any recommendations that’d be appreciated!
      Apologies for asking so much, but thank for the quick reply! Your videos have helped me a ton with restoring my own over the last few months!

      @@dragonboy8252 hey!! I jack the front up by lifting from the front subframe. I use a hockey puck in rio if the jack and lift or I use a piece on f wood to spread the load. Once up, I lift the rear from the rear passenger side (at an angle) and lift the rear subframe with a piece of wood to spread the load. Hope that makes sense.
      Trying to remember how I stalled the new cable. I know I kept the seal on the new cable and didn’t need to use any adhesive or anything. I vaguely remember that this part was difficult. I think I used a bit of grease to lube the grommet to get into the firewall. Definitely the hardest part. Definitely don’t cut or remove the grommet. Just lube it and persuade it into place. LMK how it goes.

      @@thedriversapex Thanks for the reply, I’ve never been completely sure on where to jack the car as everyones responses differs! For the cable I did it last weekend and I can agree the grommet was the hardest part, however I made my life harder and *did* cut/rip the old one, it sits properly but it definitely made my job harder, worked out eventually though! Keep up the good content!

    Question, is that the E36 CSF radiator?
    I bought one for my M20 E30, is it a bolt on affair?

      Hey! Yes, it’s an e36 radiator. The stock clutch fan won’t work with it though so you have to add an electric fan. I learned that after buying it. LMK if you have any questions.

      I wasn’t aware the stock fan wouldn’t work, I had planned to just run my CSF radiator and stock fan
      how difficult was wiring up the electric fan?
      you went with a SPAL fan?

    I own a bmw 324 td '88 and the hood wire got cut and Now it's impossible to open it.
    Does this model has the same opening system as the gasoline models next to the headlights?

    did you do something extra because when u first got done installing the latch it was almost rubbing against your speaker, but then after it had atleast half an inch of distance from your speaker. so just asking what you changed to make that little space??

      Great observation! When I installed the latch I had noted that it felt different. The new latch had slop in it compared to my old latch, but the new one feels better. I don’t remember adjusting anything on the latch to give it space from the speaker. I never even noticed that! Now I’m going to watch the video. Thanks for watching!!

      This is just the stock 325is front bumper.
