her great mistake was to renounce at Team Darren Cahill (6 years her coach) - Virginia Ruzici (15 years her manager!) going to Team Muratoglu ... in just some months ,she is finished... no comments!
She is not a cheater! I have never seen her cheat during the game. She didn't interrupt matches just to take the opponent out of the game. She played correctly whether he won or lost. I'm sorry for her that she didn't retire last year, now whatever she does most will think that all her work was just cheating. I feel sad for her.
You can’t really say that can you? She is older now and has had injuries and is from an Eastern European country ..I can’t say she cheated just as you can’t say she did not cheat .. but this inew idea that Darren Cahill is gonna give her a testimony that she never cheated before is really ridiculous. They have to go by the results and do a thorough investigation ..so what , her previous coach /friend thinks she didn’t cheap big deal.
Stevie Wondwr can see that she was introduced to steroids and PEDS under Darren Cahill because that is when she went from little miss tiny petit to MISS HERCULES. And for her to come out and #Lie about taking the drug by wording it “knowingly” is so disrespectful to all the honest innocent tennis players like Maria Sharapova and NoVAC
The ITF should do away with the useless doping bans. To assert that doping screening can create a level playing field and make a professional sport 'fair' is just absurd. Top players have access to ever-improving and custom-made rackets, strings, sports clothing and shoes, sports nutrition (gels and drinks), sports nutritionists, sports psychologists, physios, coaches, AI-powered game analysis and tactics, private healthcare and personalised medicine, conditioning methods, etc. Lower-ranked players and qualifiers don't (unless they're heirs to wealthy parents to begin with). On the other hand, qualifiers are often fresh and healthy when the top seeds are already tired from previous tournaments or struggling with injuries. That is why, as many champions would tell you, tennis is mostly mental.
The point is that the banned performance-enhancing drugs negatively affect your health, which is unfair to competitor who would be pressured into following your example.
No what’s sad is that a tennis star cheated lied and was doping in which led to her suspension! THAT IS WHATS SAD! Also what’s dad is that Simona Halep has been using that drug as a PED for special matches like Maria Dope-A-Pova💊💊 did to cheat! Bet money Halep has been doping for the last 5 years not to mention she looks like MISS HERCULES now
I actually think this case is much worse than Sharapova’s Sharapova’s case although illegal was really an accident more than anything there’s no way that she thought she was getting away with that someone screwed up. This is much more insidious.
@@bryguy0111 I like how Halep people told her to test her again and she still failed LOL😂 they did that to make it appear as if she is innocent. She knows damn well she’s guilty!!
Seriously folk!!! After reading all the comments. Some of you really need to get a life for being so judgmental to these professionals athletes. It is, we the fans, that put so much pressure on them to perform. We're praising them greatly when they're high on the horse. The moment they fall off, we're looking for every reason to hang them to the cross. Prescription drugs and Supplements are such a tricky problem. In the end it's their performance that will make the determination. As for Simona,
@7:14 - the stuff found in Halep is considered blood doping which is much more serious. Her former coach made a lot of money from the cuts he got from the prize monies
I remember when Simona Halep was small tiny and petite. After booking up with Darren Cahill, she now looks like a bad Steroid Experiment gone wrong looking like a miniature version of SHE-ZUES or #MissHercules. Simona Haleps fans refuse to believe that she has ever done steroids, they think she got that massively huge naturally 😂😂LMAO😂😂 I am not against players getting fit, and toning up but they need to stop acting like she’s not been on steroids and they need to stop with the fake talking point that she didn’t knowingly take the banned doping drug. The drug is taken orally, so SHE put it in her mouth on special matches and failed the test TWICE!!! A drug that is used by athletes as a PED magically found its way into her mouth LOL😂
She was tested a few days before the match and she knew for sure that she would be tested again after the match. So why would he risk it? He made the big mistake of giving up his team and having total trust in Muratoglu and his team.. Something happened there.. The jealous fits of Muratoglu's wife and Simona's divorce could be the key to the problem. Anyway, only someone close to her could put substance in her food. The analyzes showed a small amount of roxadustat and the lack of diuretic substances, if he had tried to hide the doping. Worse, roxadustat would have caused a risk of thrombosis in combination with the thyroid medicine and the contraceptives he was taking. Did you know that 15 years ago, she had breast reduction surgery because her size was uncomfortable when she played tennis? So, why would she risk being suspended and ending her career?
@@Trumpet9406 Her PhD from Romania and former members of her team stated these things.
Although this was not known until now, Adrian Marcu, former coach of Simona Halep, explained that he knows the athlete well and admitted that she suffers from a certain medical condition. It was found out what disease Simona Halep suffers from. He spoke directly to her: I don't think that substance would have done her any good Adrian Marcu, former coach of Simona Halep, said on Friday at Digi Sport that he is shocked by what happened to the former WTA leader. He is of the opinion that the athlete did not dope. The former coach admitted he spoke to Halep after the announcement of her temporary doping ban, also acknowledging her thyroid problems. "I know Simona quite well, I have worked with her quite a lot and I know that she is an athlete who is always very careful when it comes to medication. I can't believe that he would have done something like that, especially to improve the physical part, where she was 'concrete' anyway. She wasn't a player who necessarily needed to improve. I keep thinking that she'd not risk ruining her career in such manner. I wonder if her divorce and the coach had something to do with it. The coach had an affair with Serena when he was coaching her, there were rumors of an affair with Simona as well (how very unprofessional of him , btw) and his wife would have been jealous. Now he's suddenly coaching Holger Rune and Simona is an outcast. I wonder what Romanians say about it 🤔. To me it's all very fishy.
IF SHE NEVER SETS FOOT ON A COURT AGAIN, I KNOW THAT SHE IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL , FIERCE, AND AWESOME FEMALE TENNIS PLAYERS EVER!! SHE ALWAYS GAVE HER OPPONETS HELL!! I HAVE ENJOYED AND ADMIRED HER CAREER THROUGH OUT THE YEARS AND WISH THE BEST FOR HER ON/OFF THE COURT IN THE FUTURE.
All these years they accused Serena Williams for using steroids and other illegal substances. She was tested more frequently than any other tennis player men or women. All negative results.
This is dumb. It’s not like whatever substance people use is gonna make them a world class player tennis player overnight. It still takes hard work, perseverance, and naturally gifted talent.
How naive. You have absolutely no idea how this works. Athletes micro-dose - meaning they take PEDs at lower doses just before competition for an edge against their opponents. The aim is for the drug to clear from the system BEFORE in-competition testing. Simona was caught because she lost early at the US Open, and so small amounts were detected in her system. The systems put in place for dopers by their teams are very sophisticated and well-designed. It failed this time because she did not carry out her side of the plan.
@@user-yd4nk4lm6s Oh thanks for explaining how that works. Yeah I’d be more surprised if any world class athletes don’t take some kind of drugs or stimulants to help with their performance.
@@mikewhocheeseharry5292 I really believe some teams take PEDS as a group. For example, the Jamaicans track team use to loose ALL THE TIME, but they all started winning around 2004/2008, and they’ve been winning every since. And when one get caught, more than one gets caught around the same time. Their former athletic director stated that their testing system is NOT transparent, and when she disclosed it to her superiors, she was fired. So, as long as nobody else oversees their testing system, they will continue to turn out winners in sprint! But I hope Halep comes through, even if she’s guilty. I hope this ordeal makes her better!
I like Simona, and think she's a real warrior on the court, especially being so small. With that being said, I find it hard to feel sorry for anyone who's made $ 40 million dollars on the court, as I save those feelings for the homeless, and sick. Fact is, Simona had this drug in her system. Either 1 of 2 things is true, and that is she did knowingly take a banned substance, or someone put it in her food, to frame her, or she mistakenly took someone else's medication ? If you look at "probability" she probably took it knowingly, to try and keep up with the younger, bigger players, and should get suspended, just like Sharapova. You gotta play by the rules, and I think a 1 year ban from the game is fine to send a message. She can go get married.
"I will fight until the end to prove that I never knowingly took any prohibited substance...". Good luck with that, this will be harder than winning all four GS tournaments in a year.
Is there any chance the the vaccine companies will reveal exactly what was in those emergency use only experimental mRNA concoction injections she was required to get?
Comments by other professional tennis players reveal that Maria Sharapova was the least liked player on tour. I believe that is why most people did not support her when chips were down.
Sharapova was the highest-earning female athelete up to the suspension, she defeated other WTA players 79% of the time, and distancing/intimidation were always unapologitically part of her game tactics. It's no wonder she was the least liked player on tour, but her treatment post-AO2016 was brutal and disgraceful. It was like everyone smelled blood in the water and pounced on the chance to tear her apart as a "cheater" and to diminish her achievements.
@@laprimaverrra - I never diminished her stellar playing ability. I just thought she was a very unfriendly, arrogant, young woman who never smiled unless she won the match; and in the locker room, I've read that Sharapova rarely spoke to anyone, just packed-up her shitte and left!
@@juan1946er1 Oh, I didn't mean you diminished her abilities, I meant tennis pros and the tennis world in general. And yes, she was never interested in being friendly to other WTA players or faking a smile for the sake of appearing gracious. No, she wanted to beat everyone, and she wanted them to get the message - from the locker room and when she stepped on court, with her intense stare before serving, her berserker grunts, her battle cry "Come on!", all the way to match point. I guess you do need a certain amount of arrogance and incredible self-belief to keep fighting to the very last call, whatever the score. But she is far froom the only champion to use such tactics and appear unfriendly and arrogant, especially on match days - Justine Henin, Martina Hingis, even the Williams sisters come to mind. If that helped them win spectacular matches, who are we to argue with their strategy?
I always admire Simona Halep. Her fighting spirit is one of her weapon to outlast her opponent. I hope she can still play About different treatment of Sharapova and Halep. Maybe because Maria was one of dominant figure in WTA when the issue arise. And, Maria also hits really strong that time. So, many people believe it. Right now, Halep is not a really dominant figure. Her performance is so so lately. So, many people dont really believe that shes using drug
sharapova used meldonium for 10 years with WADA'S KNOWLEDGE, UNTIL THEY SUDDENLY DECIDED TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL!! maria was unaware they had made the drug illegal, bearing in mind that WADA only e-mailed her about the drug ban, not told her to her face, so it's possible that someone in her team missed the e-mail! the likes of serena & venus williams & rafael nadal continued to use illegal drugs, KNOWN AS 'tues', 'THERAPEUTIC USE EXEMPTION', samctioned by WADA!! I LIKE BOTH MARIA & SIMONA & WOULD LIKE TO THINK THEY WERE BOTH CLEAN TENNIS PLAYERS!!!
It's done, I have to believe in the system that keeps my favourite sport fair! No matter how high you are, you shouldn't be exempt from consequences, FYI plenty of unknown players have been banned from the sport!
I have no clue how these top competitors train, eat, sleep to enable them to perform at their level, with the money involved in professional sports; I’m inclined to believe someone on her team made a terrible mistake; it seems way out of character for her to try blatant cheating at this point in her career, but I know nothing of the demands and pressure these people go through to be who they are, in short; I’ll cop-0ut of judgment at this time and wait for this to sort itself properly!
There's NO way she would cheat or try to get any kind of edge over her competition ...especially this late in her career when she's already achieved such greatness and has NOTHING to prove to herself or anyone! She's still playing because she loves tennis and I too stand by her, 100%!!!

Serena has been tested more than any player, woman or man. Stop being a hater. What evidence do you have Serena or Venus did drugs? Why bring them into this? You can be her fan without trying to throw shade on them.
@@lindaguy7533 no, she is clearly not. 2018 she was tested only 5 times (not even top 20 tested WTA player). You clearly have no data on this and we do not care for your emotional evidence. Serena had over 15 exemptions for illegal substance use from WADA in her pro carrier. One time (that we know so far) 2015 she got medical exemption after she already used substance. This was clearly against the rules, but who cares it is Serena. Also, she avoided twice drug testing agent that showed up to administer test, but walked off empty handed after few hours of waiting, and receiving a call from CEO of WTA and WADA (after Serena who was hiding from tester, called WTA CEO). There was ATP player 10 years back that did same thing, but he's name was not Serena and got banned for 15 months. Why? Bc those are the rules, but obviously not for Serena. Also drug test negative, does not mean drug free. WADA does not have a perfect system and never did. Cyclist Armstrong was never positive at he's tests. Let's remember Marion Jones who was all perfect, just like our Serena is. And she will come out to press and say same things like Serena will. Same old stories. "I will never do that. I'm for clean sport." and so on... But eventually, thanks to Balco scandal after she retired, she was found guilty and served time in prison. She was also top tested athlete with all negative drug tests during her carrier. I'm fan of no one. I'm just fan of truth and facts that are missing today in professional sports

Got her medical excuse after she already administrated medicine (that is clearly against the rules, you have to ask for permission week in advance and do it only if you are approved, in advance I repeat). That what is public information so far. Who knows what else is hidden? I have no horse in this race. We all know everyone is doping on high level in professional sports. What do you mean by “innocent until proven guilty? 1. The guilty act (actus reus) has been established. The drug is found in her system. 2. What remains to be made clear is the guilty mind (men’s rea) did she knowingly and intentionally take the drug? Nothing new here, athletes have done this before but every case has to be dealt with on its own merits.
I disagree. The drug was actually found in samples from her blood. It has not been found in her system. The verdict will be determined when they reconcile the relationship (i.e switched samples, doctored samples) between the two.
@@WonderWhatHappened Well said. another one being serena (who is basically a man with the gear shes on). But its always sad when people say "oh X is so honest" or "people are just mad" when the reality of the situation is they are all doping. Its been known for a while that doping tests are very very easy to get past, and even "soft" bans have been given to elite tennis players (like rafa) to protect its reputation. Its a shame this is the world we live in.
I honestly think that a super athlete will not easily dope themselves on purpose. You might get the odd one. Sometimes their coaches, nor the athletes, and I SAY SOMETIMES, they are not clear on certain medications whether it will influence their game. I feel sorry for those who haven't done it on purpose. But...... rules are rules.
So you don’t think Halep was doping? A drug found in a lot of athletes for o2 exchange and Endurance and you don’t think she’s using a kidney disease medication as a PED? 😂😂LMAO😂😂
Now She'll understand how Sharapova felt. Never be too quick to castigate someone without prior information or knowledge. If it's true, then it's very unfortunate
Not the same thing at all! Sharapova willingly and knowingly took the drug. Halep says she doesn't know how it got into her system. It's possible that someone put it in her drink to harm her for reasons we're not aware of, like personal issues.
It's Pat who disrespected Serena. Simo just asked him a question while practising at his academy. She could not have known where they stood at... Btw, learn to write! 🤮🤮
Maria S is a cheater out right. She used that drug for many years playing on tour and played dumb when she said she didn’t know it got added to the banned list. I call BS.
That drug was not banned for those many years. The US/UK anti-doping agencies want the thyroid drug Halep is taking daily banned. Halep also takes a contraceptive pill daily which is technically an enhancer by WADA's definition ( J.K. Rowling may not consider a woman on the pill a woman). Interesting that Halep takes one drug that can cause weight gain and the other that can reduce weight.

In her case I don't know. Some other Romanian athletes were excluded before for the reasons of doping and after long time federations declared that were some mistakes. The last one was Andreea Raducanu in artistic gimnastics. They took her the gold medal to the olimpic games. Not after so many years nobody make justice for her. So I don't know if Halep really took roxadusthat. Sge had a surgery to the nose and the operation was great and had no complications. She was pozitive before US Open? She didn't play well in the first round, lost the match. She had two tests before it and were negative. I don't know, the story is strange. Ok Sharapova was pozitive, but also I'm sure Serena Williams was pozitive so many times and nobody said anything because... she was american? What about the swimmer Michael Phelps. Was he always clean? I'm sure most of the times didn't. Countries who are big political powers...their athletes are privileged.

I think they all dope in some form. I also think some are warned when testing will take place so they can accidentally on purpose miss tournaments etc to get clean. My guess is she knows what she's putting in her body but I think the testing isn't fair. There's a certain top male tennis player who has never tested positive but is often injured, though actual occurrence of injury is never seen in a match, always comes back to play and wins. My gut says the higher ups warn when testing will take place. Then this particular player misses tournaments etc. The top top top players will all be protected to keep the sense of integrity high but an aging Sharapova and not so famous Simona are easy prey to keep the integrity lie going. This game is so brutal to the body that's there's no way anyone is 100% clean. Roxadustat sold under the brand name Evrenzo which is an anti-anemia medication. It's on the EPO banned list, it has been added a year ago since also a year ago the drug has been approved on the european market. The strange thing is that most european countries haven't imported yet the drug. You cannot find it at the moment in hospitals or pharmacies in Romania or France for ex. It's clear that there are 2 logical conclusions : she either took it knowingly or unknowingly, knowingly in the sense that she desired to take it or unknowingly in the sense that it was administered by her team as a safe booster, supplement because this substance couldn't have been taken by accident, it's a synthetic substance and it needs a special calculated dosage so as to not have harmfull effects on your body.

He made the big mistake of giving up his team and having total trust in Muratoglu and his team.. Something happened there.. The jealous fits of Muratoglu's wife and Simona's divorce could be the key to the problem. Anyway, only someone close to her could put substance in her food. Worse, roxadustat would have caused a risk of thrombosis in combination with the thyroid medicine and the contraceptives he was taking. Isn’t it provisional ban? The headline says banned for life. Has this been confirmed? Or is this another clickbait?
a lot of support here - but drug tests don't lie - same substance as the cyclists, in the end they admitted - aka Lance Armstrong
And Maria Dope-A-Pova💊💊
Take Serena’s name out of your mouth. Did you have any proof Serena had tested positive several time.

Why was Sharapova not supported the same as Halep now??
Come on, its easy. Just compare them on appearance.
There are plenty of good looking players who were very well liked and Sharapova is not one of them. Mainly because of her arrogance and unfriendly behavior. Not to mention grunting like she was giving birth, super annoying to other players.

The use of any drugs is not longlasting so any suspension for that matter must not be imposed as a total banned forever
It’s not a total ban at first. There are opportunities for athletes to clear their name, get reduced sanctions, file appeals, etc. Athletes can get banned immediately if they test positive and evade sanctions or suddenly retire or interfere with investigation, etc. it can be months to years to lifetime ban or no further penalty.
She is undoubtedly one of the fairest and nicest tennis players. I don't think drugs of any sort have ever interested her at all.
Love simona as well as Maria sharapova..were great for women tennis but sharapova was treated very badly by tennis community for drug ban..
There was nothing in the video that suggested Halep is being banned for life. Cickbait. Going to have to file a report.

yes the one with Ser
You know why..big 💰💰💰 involved 😏. She looked grotesque btw
Sports are big business. So go figure. Lots of money to be made by all involved. Now I overstand what happened to Osaka. She allegedly wanted no parts of that. Thus the break due to pressure. Tennis will never be the same.
What? Like she was pressured to take drugs and she refused? What utter nonsense.
So regardless of the excuses basically people are saying that sharapova, whatever she said is a liar and Simona is not LOL ok... Sorry when was the last time an athlete said that they actually took a drug and knew it was illegal, what percentage of athletes who do that actually come out publicly and give that statement
Test s in sport have not always been proved CORRECT ,,,, hope this gets overturned IF proved wrong ,,,,, QUICKLY!! Gx

How do they get away with using banned drugs for years and suddenly get caught. Perplexing
Lance Armstrong was never tested positive. Marion Jones was not officially tested positive.
A lot of times, they’re using substances the labs can’t recognize (yet). They also cycle the usage. You can miss a test 3 times in a year before a penalty, so they’ll use, miss a test, take next test clean, use, miss next test… perform, then stay clean for a while and not miss tests. It’s a game. But hey get caught because ADOs can test athletes 24/7 these days and are getting better at it.
@@65neu20 Txs you are right but until a substance is put on the list I suppose it is not banned. Surely these players who are earning in millions would be alert enough not to get caught after it gets on the list. Plus the real deterrent would be to make them return their earnings. Watch the fun then. No doubt they are great athletes but what about a non enhanced great athlete.

I can't believe this.
Every caught cheater ALWAYS say they unknowingly took the banned substance. B freaking S!
I agree $40M is sickening so I can't feel sorry for her but until players admit that they all take, this charade will continue and certain heads will be sacrificed. Amazing how no #1 has been caught cheating yet, lol.
She needs to appeal the decision. Sharapova did and they let her back in
No pity from me, her dishonesty is very unfair to the other players
And you know she was dishonest how????
Which drug substance is she accused of taking?
I don't think she stands a chance in front of the committee so as to prove her innocence unless someone else speaks or a witness of some sort that it was her staff with her coach (Patrick Mouratoglu and members from his academy) who gave her the illegal substance.
Cocaine
I like Simona, but I don’t believe that someone take something without knowing what they are taking, the coach should ask, the nutritionist and I’m sur #he has a Dr that she can trust… or she sick of playing and the best way to finish the pressure of tennis… I feel for her and whoever gave her that drug… shame on you.

If you take a drug on constant base you will be tested positive. How is it possible NOT to be tested positive for >15 years, tested negative one week before and again negative one week after? It doesn't make sense. And if Simona was good on the tennis court, she was because of her legs! The way she runs on the court and retrieve impossible balls is matched maybe only by Nadal in men tennis! So why enhance exactly the thing you are one of the best players in the world?
