I'm very confused when you did the white Amsterdam paint you added in floetrol. But when you did the black paint you said you were going to add in Wood conditioner with floetrol did that mean you were going to use flood floetrol or Australian floetrol? are you using flood floetrol for both or using Australian floetrol for the first one with the white?
Sorry for the confusion. In this video I demo two different options for cell activators not using Australian floetrol and each one with white and black paint. The wood condition was already in the cell mix then I added it to the paint I just have misspoke…not sure this was a video I made two years ago. Both recipes uses American flood floetrol…not Australian #1. Here are the recipes. Cell Activators (CA): Step One - CA MIX Mix #1: 13 oz of American Floetrol + 1 ml of MinWax Wood Conditioner Mix #2: 2 parts American Floetrol to 1 part Water Step Two - Cell Activator Formulas: #1: 3 parts Cell Mix #1 + 1 part Amsterdam Paint #2: 2 parts Cell Mix #2 + 1 part Amsterdam Paint
@@RhondasTriRRRtistry thank you so much for answering that I really appreciate you put the recipes in the message. I've been having such a hard time with Australian flotrol lately I bought some from an Etsy store and I think they might have watered it down because it didn't do anything as far as creating cells or Lacing and it was extremely watery and they won't do anything about it and I paid $74 for it!
I use and really like Minwax + Floetrol, but in your demo, I liked the Floetrol and water better, so I'm going to have to try that now! Thanks for demonstrating.
Rhonda, thank you so much! Ive been been going stir crazy literally. Trying to get the cell and or lacing effect. All I work on is 5" round pieces of wood or canvas. I make centers for my wreaths.! Hopefully I this ratio and product works. People had me using elmers glue and water and a pouring medium. Mone of this gave me any results. So, Im going to get a scale ad well. I will let you know hiw things turn out! Happy painting, these are beautiful❤
thanks for the tutorial up in wanting to try fluid art. I normally just paint abstract with acrylics when you add the white paint before adding your fluid paint. Is that just white paint or is that your cell activator just flow, trawl, and water?
That is a hard choice to make. On which bbn is better. Agree with the color pallet and ALL my work glows under blacklight. 😀 I suck at the blowing too and got my self a little campfire blower starter thing. It works for me bcz I just dont have the patience or the body to lean over things and blow on them. I'm no Olga Sony. Ha ha. Any how I pinched the nozzle a little flat and made the stream of air that comes out a little more controlled.. I would love to have just an air brush. But so far so good. Thanks so much for ur trial bcz I have been curious.
Thanks Lee Ann! and you are most Welcome! I am starting to get better at the blowing. I ended up getting some tiles and are using them as testers...and seem to be getting better. I have a hard time knowing which one I like better as well. So in the next few videos I start to put them on a real canvas and play with the same color palette. I would like to get an air brush too...maybe for Christmas or my birthday this spring?
@RhondasTriRRRtistry they make a prestain wood conditioner that is latex and one that is oil. I have used the oil base and while that makes cells the cells don't nold. So should it be latex?
How does this compare to Australian Floetrol? Also I have sen US Floetrol and wood conditioner but there is usually glue-all added - did you try that too?
I have used the glue all and added it in my 3rd cell activator. I like it the best. I have never used the Ausi flotrol but it looks pretty good! My blooms now all have the recipient with glue all.
ok, im trying the minwax formula, 13oz to 1ml minwax. seems thicker than y9urs, and gets thicker when i add the paint 3/1. should i try some water, or bump ratio up, maybe 4/1 ca to paint
I would bump up the ratio. You can add water but the. Sometimes the cells don’t hold. Each paint has a different consistency so you may have to adjust it even with each color just a bit. Just remember the pillow is thicker than the colors and the Colors are thicker than the CA. Have fun!!!
@@RhondasTriRRRtistry yes, i use straight house paint as pillow, very thick, but i think my other colors may be to thin, i use artist loft ready mix, which are thin. ill thicken them up a bit and see what happens. thx
LOL…it can be confusing…lots of ingredients in a Bloom. It is a difficult one to master. Sorry you felt it is a nightmare…here is the info for you that I had in the information section. I think they both looked fine and thank you for trying that because I am trying new things
Thanks. Have fun trying new recipes!
Interesting results. Black in the first one White in the second one. But I'm confused about which mix was what in the end!
Oh sorry about that. Thanks for the feed back. I should have explained that better. I will make sure I do that next time.

Ugh. So sorry about that. I wonder if you got a bad batch. So sorry to hear that! Have you had any luck since this post. I didn’t see it until today
Love tests like this Rhonda.
Thank you! Me too!

I do like the wood conditioner too. I like both! If someone doesn’t like the smell it’s a good option. 🤷♀️😜
The bottom one, if thats # 1
Thank you!!!
These are great options! Just curious - why Amsterdam paint in particular? Thanks!
I guess the reason is that It works for me. You could alway try another paint and see if it works. Have a great day!
Thanks, very kind in the explanations.
Thank you!!! That means a lot!
Great tutorial 💓
Thanks!!!
Very nice tutorial. I'm hoping in my tutorial I'm making today it will go well😉🤞🤞🤞
Good luck!

Great! Thanks for the tutorial! 😀
Glad it was helpful!

The white paint is a pillow or base paint and comes right out of the can. It is house paint you can use for your walls.
That is a hard choice to make. On which bbn is better. Agree with the color pallet and ALL my work glows under blacklight. 😀

To me both are the same results, because a lot depends on how you handle your tools in this case your mount and paletknife.
Thanks!
Is it latex prestain? And what is the floetrol and prestain m8x?
The pre stain just happens to be a wood conditioner add it to floetol and that helps create a cell activator. Hope that helps.

@RhondasTriRRRtistry and please, what is the ratio of floetrol to wood stain?
So.... #1 has the wood conditioner? and #2 has floetrol and water?? Is the wood conditioner water based or oil??
Yes. And it is water based.
Thanks for the ca recipe. I’m determined not to buy any more Aussie Floetrol because of the cost. I’ll be giving it a try. ❤
Let me know how it works for you!
Nice, thanks! What is that woodconditioner? A special brand? I live in The Netherlands so maybe I can't buy it here.....

Floetrol is already 85% water out of the can.
Okay thanks for the info.
