    Also, rewatching this scene knowing Jon Matteson plays Wiggly is great. There is a very funny video of his acting backstage, which just makes the whole scene even funnier and creepier.

    I think fans have wondered for a long time what happened to that apple, lol. They finally said what happened in one of their recent streams.
    Bryce Charles, who you'll see in Nerdy Prudes Must Die and Cinderella's Castle, got the apple (and Nightmare Time, if you watch that one). She hadn't officially joined Starkid yet at that point, and Nick Lang told her specifically to sit in that seat so she got the apple, lol. I guess another fan asked her for it after the show.

    the 'problem' with black friday show they have in youtube is that they did this show while many of the cast is sick. if you listen to the album their voices are much better. i think it's most obvious in the titular song black friday and yes, made in america. if you have the chance to compare the live version with the cast recording, please do, even in private! the difference is stark even for someone with no vocal training like me. another plus is the accompanying instrumentals is a lot more clear. honestly, props for them for being able to deliver such strong performances while not at their 100%.

    • @singwithAshley
      @singwithAshley  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Yes, they always say in BTS lives that when the cast thinks of Black Friday, they think of sickness. Their sickness could be a huge reason why their ensemble section in this number didn’t mesh well. A ton of sickies struggling with their voices! BUT I completely concur, despite the sickness, they deserve oodles of cudos for putting on this fantastic show in spite of

    • @akurokumelodys
      @akurokumelodys 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@singwithAshleyso it is 100% because he was sick. This proshot is more then one performance from the end of the run after they had already spent so long singing and giving all their energy performing while sick and redone shots after it ended not live. It’s why sometimes you can really hear someone is sick and then other times they sound better. At least part of the musicals intro number was filmed after which is why he sounds a lot better there then here where you can hear that he’s trying to sing and talk through being sick. People who went to the show have also said there were at least a few performances where some of his end made in americas used to go up higher. I would say more songs from here on out show how sick some people really were during this. I would say wiggle out of everything suffered the most from people being sick
      So also there were a lot of audio recording and mic issues in general through out the show. So here’s a fun thing, go back to the start of the song listen to the intro and when he started singing. You will notice the start of this song was re-recorded and dubbed over the live footage because you can hear the difference between Joey being in a silent made for recording area vs the mic echo of being in the theater right before the song and as it continues. I don’t know why they did it either his mic did not pick up correctly or it was deemed to not have sounded well enough but they did redo it. There are a few sections in this show where they did this. And there is one specific part in their musical twisted where it was done and then one of my personal issues with NPMD’s proshot vs the digital ticket is it we done a lot and to me is very noticeable which makes me sad because their live vocals in that were so good

    Im really really sad that my favourite musical doesn't have good english subtitles. It's called "Drákula" (Dracula) and its a czech rock musical about Count Dracula. The 1996 version is immaculate. I grew up on it and could sing the whole thing by heart and the vocal performances (in my layman opinion) are amazing. The male lead is a musical actor and has an amazing voice that shakes your soul, and the second female lead is a czech pop singer that has a really gritty voice. It's so good and makes me cry all the time! Such a bummer there aren't good English subtitles or I'd recommend it 😢

    Love this!! But it pains me you're doing it out of order. "The guy who didnt like musicals" (2018) is the first in the hatchetfield trilogy. Then Black Friday, (2019), then Nerdy prudes must die (2023)
    Technically, they work as stand-a-lones but there are a lot of reoccurring sort of jokes, themes, even characters like John McNamara for example, that wont make sense unless you see them all.
    They also did these stories on zoom called "Nightmare time" they are not mandatory but also aid in understand the hatchetfield series. Every show and story is a different universe with some overlapping.
    The guy who didnt like musicals for example, Paul and Emma are the main characters and they appear in BL and NPMD as well. Hope this helps! 😊

      Haha I feel you! I hate doing things out of order too! And I HATE missing Easter eggs! I had no idea that Black Friday was part of a series and thought it could stand alone. However! Do not fret! I plan to rectify this! 🤫
      Thank you so much for being here and singing with me!

      Yes, sorry Bahah I’m often too focused on the voice that I’m not always catching lyrics. Especially if they are words I’m not super familiar with. Jeff Blim was extremely dictated but man he uses some big words! He keeps me smart and on my toes! I love him for it. Thanks for singing with me friend! I’m happy you’re here!

      @@singwithAshleyhey!!! I’ve been watching all your videos and if you like Jeff Blum and Dylan Saunders you HAVE to listen to “Starry”. They’re both in it along with some other Starkids. It’s about Vincent Van Gogh. (Dylan is the man himself). It’s beautiful and amazing and you’ll looooooove it.

      @@singwithAshleyALSO if you like Joey’s voice you should react to his musical “Spies are Forever”. He’s in it along with Curt Mega (the president here), Lauren Lopez and a BUNCH of other amazing Starkids
