  • I purchased a Champion 5000 Starting Watts/4000 Running Watts Generator. Some people are predicting rolling black outs this summer. This generator will be able to power up my RV and run at least one of the air conditioners. This is a unboxing and first start up review.

I bought this same generator today. First pull I was ready to go. Powers the cabin just fine. I recommend it right out of the box. Maintenance is key. My brother has the 7000 watt and it's broke down due to non maintenance

Thanks for the video. Just purchased the same one today. I was mainly curious about how load it actually was. Going to be using it for our camper once in a while and backup and backup for refrigerators and freezers in there are extended power outages

Yes it powered everything. I have 2 air conditioners. I only ran the one in the main living/kitchen area. The other is in the bedroom. I didn't try running them both.

yes I haven't had to use very much. But everytime I start it, it fires right up. Just put some stabil in the gas tank. Meets my power needs. It is loader than the other champion Inverter Generator, but still works great

Get it if you haven't already! I have the same unit and it's a beast! Been about 4 months now of everyday usage 18 to 21 hours straight and you'd swear I'm hooked up to a pole. Only complaint I have is the carbon monoxide detector and it is a little louder than most other brands. The detector seems to be a bit sensitive so be careful as to how you position it. Make sure you have good ventilation. Other than that, it's freaking awesome! I use it on 89 octane with a fuel stabilizer and other additive and again AVERAGE 18-21 hrs of straight usage with a 13k BTU ac and frig running the whole entire time. The tank is 4.7 gallons big.

Why do you have to remove brackets?, i just bought this but it came out of box. It works perfectly just curious why the brackets have to be removed

It had warning tag saying to remove shipping brackets. Not sure what purpose they serve.

Brackets are for shipping only motor is on rubber mounts so it can shake around when running if u run it with the brackets on it u risk cracking the motor the motor is meant to vibrate on the rubber motor mounts like a vehicle

It is pretty loud. I bought the dual fuel inverter generator and it is much quieter. Noise level comparable to the Honda generators.
