*100% best **Generater.Systems** I have used. A test for hurricane prep here in Louisiana: three AC units, 5000, 5000 & 8000, 3 fridges, 2 device power setups, 4 flat screens....AND I had 40% of the power meter to spare.*

5+ turns on that idle screw is unusually large. It may have been an attempt by the previous owner to get the engine to run. They're usually only about 1½ - 2 turns out. Even though these generator engines don't idle, as they start up, the RPMs do pass through the "idle" range. If we can't get ethannol free fuel, the best way to shutdown the engine is to turn off the fuel supply and let the engine die of fuel starvation.

Ive run a identical generator on my houseboat for the last 13 years. Its never failed me due to my maintenance of everything on a maintenance schedule. And shutting the fuel off and running until carb is clear after each use. They definitely dont put out the claimed wattage in my experience . Ive checked mine for output multiple times and its never put out more than 2200 under full load. It wont run my roof A/C and my coffee maker simultaneously. But will run both separately without a problem. Puts out enough to start A/C compressor immediately. But its definitely not performing at the rated run or peak power at any time since new

If you have the electric choke on top it goes there. Mine did too and it's loose so I'm thinking of a drop of super glue to hold it in place.

Next time spray carb clean in the fuel in tube. Let it sit. Then turn the shop air up to 100PSI. The tip of the needle is so small the number of pounds per square inch is really small so you are not going to hurt it (Force = Pressure X Area). You can also put some toothpaste on a Q-Tip and put the Q-Tip in your drill motor (or just carb cleaner) and spin it on the seat to polish off the varnish that made it stick in the first place. Most of the time it is the idle jet (the black plastic one held in by the idle speed set screw (also black) that is clogged as due to emissions standards they are very small and clog very easily. It would have been good to remove it and clean it as well as the main jet and emulsion tube. Just saying.

that is a model 46596 with a 196 c.c. engine. Non-ethonal fuel is good but shutting the gas off
and draining the carb it will start every time just put seafoam in gas to stabilize it.

Funny.... Reminds me when I was in the automotive program in High School 40 plus years ago. Two years I participated in a regional automotive skilled events competition. Part of the competition was identifying many automotive fluids. For me it was by smell or taste, the other non mechanic kids could only look at them as they never got these fluids on their face before. Guess that's why I won it... lol.... Thanks for the memory !

I took the carb off and I have the same issue. The fuel inlet is blocked. Will do the same as you did and I figure that will fix my issue. Thank you Sir!

What was the issue? I heard a bunch of "that's crazy" and like terms but not sure what fixed it. I watched the video twice and am guessing it was something when he had the carb apart but not sure what it was. He took out and replaced a bunch of pieces but not sure what they did or which piece was the issue or what the issue was. Specifying the issue would be helpful. Otherwise I'm not sure what was done that made it start working.

At timestamp 8.40 I clearly said that I am trying to pull the needle out and it's not moving, it was super stuck. Spent time getting it free as to not damage it as I did not have a replacement. If the needle don't open, no gas gets in...

      @bonekuhobonekuho2658 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@GlennsSpeedShop Thanks for the clarification. For us non-engine types it would be helpful to state what may be obvious to you. I watched again and it makes more sense knowing this. It would have helped me if you said at some point that "the stuck needle caused the problem". The first two times I watched I wasn't sure that the stuck needle was the problem or, as you said, a design that you weren't familiar with. I appreciate your video as I have the exact same model and trying to learn and I believe it will help me with my issues. And thanks for responding to a question a year after you posted the video. Thank you.

I have wrkd on these, they are a good generator. As long as u don't leave gas in the carb, I shut gas
off and let engine run out or some carbs have a drain bolt. Powerhorse is similar to this but they R
good generators. I start mine every 45 to 60 days. and as the song goes 'Put the load on Annie'
yeah she likes being plugged into, I mean the generator. it keeps up the residual field to start building
up voltage and power. u don't want to have engine stop from no gas with a load on it. that will mess
gen up electrically speaking. if engine runs but no power, could be worn brushes, bad avr or auto
voltage regul8or or bad thermal circuit breaker.

It sounds like you still have a fuel issue. Pull the fuel line off the carb and drain some gas into a white cup. Look for dirt and water, and fuel flow. If it's all good, clean that new c arb. Does it surge?

Your lights and TVs. As for larger items, if you have a gas furnace it will run the fan, if it's electric then no. One burner of an electric stove. Washing machine but not an electric dryer. Well pump yes if your conservative on other power usage. My bus conversion has a 7000 watt unit to run the AC units, Bus is like a small house and 7000 is a good size for it.
