I agree with what you say here - and I see my shots go better when I follow this. But here's what's frustrating about golf instruction ; this approach involves dropping your head (along with center-of-gravity) while so many other people say "never bob your head". I've often noted Rory's swing does 'bob his head'. Yet there are many other pros who don't bob their head and hit the ball well.
If your center of gravity drops, the head will follow. This will happen with virtually every good golfer, some more subtly than others. Admittedly, I've never heard the "never bob your head" cue given to a student. It's usually... "keep your head down," which is advice often spoken from one bad golfer to another. So, with that said, I don't view the head drop of Tiger or Rory as a head bob... it is a direct result of them compressing into the ground as a means of generating power.
I presently only offer longer term coaching with people who've been playing for a bit. I would head to your nearest driving range and look for beginner group lessons... that's usually the best way to get started.
