Something interesting is that through the interactions with the principal, we can kind of understand this even if you aren't the most observant reader. The principal purposefully allowed John to keep abusing his power for a while to send a message to the status quo, a sort of "You asked for a monster, now you have one" message to make them see their system breaks people. Principal Vaughn does intervene later on, but after he's done with his charade he allows John to peacefully retire from academic life for a while, and eventually even come back.
Principal Vaughn is smart, manipulative, but in a lesser of two evils sort of way. He intends and allows John to run amok to show the world the monster their hierarchy essentially created. I feel it would be worth it exploring how Vaughn approaches John in relation to how he himself wants to shake up the status quo even as a small mention in another unordinary video.
I think the princepel build the school to teach the kids how broken their system was. Like how the school already has a bad reputation before John breaks. But I also thinks that he realised that the leason he tried to teach failed, because after the last king left Arlo started a more brutal dictatership. Therefore he allowed John to go to the school, because he knows John is stronger than any one else and therefore can show the people who they are. And both hate the system
john is the definition of extremism breeding extremism, whe was bullied as the weakest and when he became the strongest it was too fast for him to process in a healty way so he became the extreme form of what the system turns people to be, the joker's ark shows perfectly how he is right but he does it in a bad way, just like when he says the only reason that the safe house exist it's because they are afraid of him, john changed the system of the school but it took him becoming a monster for others to see the injustice of how he was treated, his power is the definition of the meme "you used the system to defeat the system", if john had a different power maybe he would still be battle crazy but not as violent and dangerous as he is
Yup, John is the definition of violence breeding violence and as well the definition of treat others of how they treat you but in reverse, everyone trested John bad, so he treated everyone bad once he got the oportunity.

Some of the worst bullies of that school were the safe house founding members. Hypocrisy at its finest. Its okay if they straight up break peoples limbs and beat them unconscious just because they had a better power. But when it happens to them they immediately become the victim.

John in my opinion is also the only real character, everyone just forgets the tyranny blake, Isen,, and arlo propagated, other than remi, they supported and let people like zeke go crazy, but the entire cast just... forgets, they don't care and just swipe it away and try to be high and mighty but John is still seen as hopeless and a monster

@@frozenpride8713 yep, I think it's probably just a skip over in writing but it would've honestly been more interesting and kind of in character of John to just completely bash them for what they've done in the past
well its easy to understand why. the rest of the cast is strong, so right now its something they see as a problem rather than something they've experienced. Hell the whole idea of a better environment for the weaker only really exists in the mind of some high tiers because of the book unordinary, and the rise of heroes. remi pursues it because she shares the same sort of sentiment as her brother Rei. Sera pursues it because when she was a cripple, she DID go through it. The others are just beginning to realize its a problem because in their world, the strong dominating over the weak is the normal, they don't live in a world like ours where we believe in equality.

I loved this show because it held john power as a carrot and when we got it we realize it was the stick. One of the best bait n switch I have seen in friction
from what i have seen most characters don't know how to properly utilize their abilities because i see some abilities that can fight against mid - high tiers if properly used but for some reason the character who have the power for years still can't properly use it to his/her advantage
Blyke also kind of falls into that category. He didn't even know his beams could develop as much as they have at this point in the story if John hadn't copied it and showed him how much stronger his ability could be. Granted, by showing, I mean skewering his limbs with lasers, but still, it opened Blyke up to the possibilities of his power and made him practice and hone his ability.
I now will say john is the best teacher, not the brightest (0-0’) (I.e skewering the person in front of him with said ability) but a good teacher
John has a different mindset and way to use other's abilities and an example would be blyke where she shoots condensed beams through his finger tips rather than his palm
This was a great video. But I want to discuss about the fact John’s ability is called “Aura Manipulation” meaning he could possibly affect other peoples abilities instead of simply copying their abilities but other stuff like amping other peoples abilities, temporarily disrupting their aura/abilities or straight up making new abilities using his own aura and manipulating it into something different.
I heard that’s what his mother can possibly do with her power which is called “Channel Master”

@@christhis9597 I think the stories is moving so slow because the creator is trying to fit 60 subplots all into one box. That's what kind of made me drop the series too. John would be an alright character if the story had less focus on the other characters or knew how to balance their development better.

Knowing a lot more than the average Westerner on how Chinese society functions reading unOrdinary is a real heavy hitter. The author unlike others doesn't need to club you over the head with concepts like 'Face' and other nuanced background themes to have them be a natural part of the work. I believe the author is Chinese-American so I assume doesn't actually live in China anymore but really I enjoy breaking down this work more for its sort of silent commentary on Chinese society (and societal structures in general) than for the characters themselves. It's honestly a rather depressing work yet it kept reeling me back in until it became an addiction and now I greedily await my fix.

John was, to me, always justified in what he did, but he did it in all the wrong ways.
Arlo had become a friend to John, so the betrayal would have cut deep and been the perfect catalyst point.
John was absolutely right to call out how it was unfair the royalty only decided to change things when someone so overwhelmingly stronger than them was going around doing what the system encourages, as to before when they were the top and never had to worry about that being them, only instead often watching or turning a blind eye.
Even during the Joker arc, I could still understand his reasoning, as twisted as it was.
He really did use the system to the point he beat the system.
I won't say about the other guys but Arlo did redeem himself to me the moment he spoke out about the hypocrisy of John not saving Seraphina and letting Joker roam around without disclosing his identity. And he did change for good.
When I was a kid, being in a secular country I was extremely racist without even realizing it. In class 11 when I realized how I treated all my friends, I changed for the good and also apologized to my friends except one whom I didn't meet again. People either act like they changed or they actually do and redeem themselves, for me Arlo did redeem himself.
As someone who suffered through a similar PTSD as John, I absolutely love this webtoon because it captures emotions so well like when Sera feels betrayed by John

@@rominnoodles I hope so, the moment that sera lost her ability I thought "this better not happen to John, let him keep his powers pls uruchan' and it happened still. But the fact he was able to forcefully activate it shows that the ability nullifiers aren't perfect yet, meaning that with the right conditions Seraphina could also likely do the same. While I doubt sera will do it (since she isn't one to be emotional through the series) I think John will have his ability active again before the next season at least and likely faster than that

I have a theory about how John was able to activate his ability partially(from the latest chapter as of I'm writing this), I think John was able to activate his ability after being crippled by the disabler because of his understandings with Aura Channels. My theory is that with samples they got from NXGen from Jane, I think that ability-disablers doesn't really disable your ability, it's more of blocking your aura flow and with John's ability was able to activate it a little bit because he can control his aura while others can't

I mean, even when John is absolutely out of pocket and taking things too far there's never really a point where I don't absolutely agree with him every step of the way. He is very justified in being absolutely livid that it took him going through his Joker arc for anyone with any semblence of power in their school's hierarchy to even consider doing something to help out the low tiers. It's not like they didn't see the shit going on before then, but it never should have had to come to such extremes for them to actually do something about it.
On the same hand, I also understand why he's scared of how he gets when he flexes his power; he's basically unstoppable against anyone in his age group, and with that level of power you tend to have intrusive thoughts about the shit you could absolutely get away with just because nobody is capable of stopping you from doing it. If I knew I could probably absolutely body anybody that stepped to me with little to no effort, I'd be scared of myself too.
the school is ruled by power, but when John show he is the most powerful, no one follow him not even the one who insist "the school is ruled by power" idea when they ruled. I stop reading when he is treated as antagonist and the "redemption" arc for the other kid start.
a lot of readers hated John too(back then, idk if it has changed). it's not like he got ganged up on everyday and especially fked up by Asslo and his gang and relived his trauma. he give back what he received and all of a sudden he's the only monster. I didn't read long enough but Asslo chara be like "sorry i ganged up on u" only after he got clapped, "i apologized so I'm the good guy now". and a lot of readers were like "yep, you're the good guy now"

I've been following the story of UnOrdinary for a good 2 years it was actually my first introduction to Webtoon and I gotta say I love it
This is why his arc in this season has been so interesting. He's growing and gaining more of a support system and he's starting to be more in sync with his abilities and I'm excited to see where the rest of this season will go

I love Johns arc people at the beginning we’re so bloodthirsty for revenge and when most stories circle around that, it ends with no consequences. While some cases it’s necessary, people go to revenge stories because it’s an escape, it’s fictional, we want to be satisfied and forget that these are high schoolers who are easily influenced. John was a kind and carefree person, revenge was never on his agenda. This really helps shows is revenge even worth it if you take yourself down aswell?

A lot of my ideas come from unordinary and anime I like lol. OP characters are cool. My character tho is not afraid of his power, he's afraid of losing it

Aura manipulation
For example if someone has an ability to multiply his numbers like Naruto, he can corrupt his clone to attack the original or if someone is mind controlling someone he can corrupt them and making them believe they're attacking John but is really attacking the mind controller user, the weakening ability that helped them getting rid of sera's ability, he can corrupt his ability to instead of weakening him, he's weakening his teammates or instead of making John weaker he's making him stronger, or using aura corruption to corrupt arlo's barrier to break easily, with one finger 😋
Part 2: bonus ability, and explanation
Bonus ability 1.) Aura sensing
Being able to sense any type of energy source or any aura, and identifying who's aura is it,
and able to see and understand how the structure of the Aura works, and what is their weakness, and even see what is wrong with it,
And he can figure out how to train someone how to use their powers easily, and figure out what their true potentials are, and he can even see if a cripple actually has an ability or really doesn't, even if they never activated it
(There could be a possibility that most cripples aren't actually cripples, but rather their ability and power is too overpower, and too difficult to unlock without special help like how John's ability was)
he can also see and sense pure and evil energy,
Example: if someone tries to be friends with John with bad intention, it will shine negative energy around that person, and John will know not to trust him, same thing if they do it for good intention
And also if someone is sad, miserable, depressed and that they are crying, John will be able to sense it

John can understand the aura and instantly know the full potential of what the aura's ability, or just the aura itself could do by either sensing there aura,or using your eye vision, by sensing aura is way more easier to figure out what the ability does but what vision you need to be extremely intelligent and have a really good understanding of how Aura and ability and how body works, / and he needs to understand how the ability works, so the more he interacts with people's aura by using aura reading and sensing, the more he will gain experience, and actually understand how aura really works, and that's how he can create new abilities for people, but he has to recreate it and needs a little bit of time to do so/
also the aura in each person kind of acts as like a DNA that's in the gene and the blood, so he can also retrace where there from, and what there descendants are,

Bonus ability 3.) Copy ability
In order for him to copy an ability, it needs to be a person with an ability that requires energy, or any life energy, so it can replicate and copy their aura in order to use their ability,
it cannot be an ability that has to do with their body parts, and that does not require energy, example:
lizard with the ability to climb walls,
fish with the ability to breathe underwater
Octopus with the ability to change their color
Bird with the ability to fly
(All of these abilities are just how there body's works, and it does not require energy)
Also there is a limit to how many ability John can copy, it will all depends on how high John's level is, and how high his opponent's level is, if his opponent has a low level energy with an ability, he'll be able to use their ability with no limits of how many ability's John can copy,
but if someone has an ability with a level that is kinda close to John's level, then he will need at least a level 2 or 3 in order to keep the information of there ability, but
if he doesn't have enough room to copy he could connect himself to his friends so he can replicate it more easily by touching them, or someone that passed out, he can replicate it with out worrying about the limit of how many ability he can copy, and if he needs to copy the whole group, the quickest way he can copy everyone's ability is if they all are physically touching each other and that they turn on their aura, so that way John can easily copy everyone and not worry about how many abilities he can copy
And also he can use the ability that he copied already without having to copy their ability again, and it will not take up space when he copies someone else's ability,
But the different's between copying someone's ability, and rebuilding their ability with out the person's ability to copy is that:
when he copies someone's ability, he automatically has their ability, and can go beyond his limit of numbers of abilities he can copy by replicating the other person's aura and ability, but it is temporary,
and rebuilding their ability with out that person's ability to copy will takes a lot of focus and time to recreate their ability with out the person there to copy, but they can keep the ability that John recreate as long as he wants, but if he needs a different ability he has to reset all of his saved abilities information he already created, and then recreating the ability he already created again just to get the ability that he needed, also it has to be his own energy to maintain it, and it can't not be from an outside energy source due to outside energy source is not flexible and changeable like how John's aura is, and also, outside energy sources will be gone eventually while John's Aura will not, and the only way to have more ability without having to copying someone is by training and getting your level higher than what you have already
By copying everyone's ability and enhance and amplify their ability to be better than the original user, and understand how it works and what is the ability's weaknesses, and he can combine their ability and make it into one powerful attack, and make a brand new ability, so by combine they're enhanced version of their ability all together, it can make an even more stronger attack then it already was,
example: John level is 7.5 but if he combines everyone's ability, then his attack will be like a level 9 or level 10 attack, so like if John copies multiple long range attack, combining all that will make an even more powerful long range attack

Bonus ability 4.) Replicating Aura level

for John he's a level 7.5, which means that if his opponent has a weak power level, then he can copy infinitely,
but if his opponent has a higher level (which doesn't have to be higher than John's level, just high in general) he has 3 free ability that he can copy,
unless John can gain more energy to add on, that's where John's replicating aura level steps in, for example:
level 7.5 + (6.2), (2.9), (4.6),= 7.5 + (13.7),
or in total, 21.2, but will look better if separating original level and with level that he replicated
How it actually works exactly, well his aura takes a sample of his opponent's energy or aura, then converting it into their level, but it goes away after John deactivate his aura, making their aura kind of go into a baryon mode state,
To give you a better idea, in the show, karama uses all of his energy to expand itself

him losing his power was needed for character growth, it was, LITERALY what he most wanted, but when it did happen, he realized how empty he feels without it.
also, his power is not gone, you can see that he will be able to power through it soon. might take a few dozen chapters, but i bet he will have it before or during the final stretch of this season.

@@marcosdheleno nah it’s a cop out. It’s Literally the only way the author knows how to do character progression. All the characters basically lost their powers at one point either figuratively or literally and “changed”.
In a lot of ways, john kinda reminds me of the mod from mob psycho, it would be cool to see john with the same mental strength that mob has accepting of his past and moving forward.

Well to be honest John is not wrong in what he did but he was not right either I think he could have approached his problems in a different angle but we can’t entirely blame him he didn’t know any better when I saw blyke starting to change for the better I couldn’t accept it I thought of it as the height of hypocrisy from his side and the other royals especially Remi when she preached to John about creating a safe environment and then proceeds to blame John for saying he could have done something
But keep in mind that Arlo started all of this and he himself said that John is not fit to rule an John himself knows that that’s why he didn’t get involved in all that shit, and if you think about it it’s all Arlos fault realized your mistake a little to late don’t you think.

John reminded me of Mob from Mob Psycho 100, the Mob is also afraid of its powers, of causing trouble or hurting people with its powers. Avoiding using them as much as possible and finally getting lost, losing control and hurting people. The responsibility of being strong, or having great powers is staying sane with them, not getting lost and using them to cause trouble.

My question is, So I never caught back up with unordinary, I was unable to keep watching after John yelled and hit Seraphina. That was pain. Does so let me first say everyone is insanely hypocritical and when John even mentions it to them they just brush it off like its not an issue even though damn well they deserve this. The difference between raging John now and Raging John then is that John now wants a weird sense of Justice when before he wanted power. He wants to show people how awful they were by being the worse is sort of my understanding. Anyways does John start being, well John again? and do him and Seraphina make up??? I hope to god

john is strong but he cant beat everyone as it depends on his opponent he cant just walk arround beating everyone up as if it was a 1 vs 1 you can just play long range as long as you have better mobility you will win in a 1 vs 1 if john didnt copy anyone elses characters blyke would win and im sure there are abilities that are too complicated for john to use and win so if someone is the same level as him he may not be used to someones power as it requires extreme skill and ages of practice like kuyo it wouldnt be easy for john to win due to the mobility and u need to be good with weapons there will definitely be a point where john just cant beat someone ,a close range skill based character would destroy him aswell as a long range movement based ability and someone like seraphina in a 1 vs 1 would knock john out before he can copy her ability so while he is strong and can stop most people when it comes to a 1 vs 1 some people can just stop him he is unstopable at 1 vs 4s tho i dont think you could create a single team that he could 1 vs 4 not even ember (asuming he would be able to copy her ability even tho he cant) ,arlo,seraphina , remi could stop him

Ok the mc from Omnicient Reader has a copy ability yes, but it has a time limit, he has to understand the person/character, he can only use 1 of their abilities, he can even keep 1 of their abilities, and its a product of the fact hes a Reader. I don't think that one counts imo.
