One tip for 808s that I've found is playing them on the keyboard first and then go in on the piano roll and adding to whats alreadt recorded to make it more intricate.
My best advice is dont listen to people telling you it will take years before you can make good beats. Just be wise with your time, it takes alot of daily practice and research to nail it.

Do you think you can make a video that covers basic sampling? I have trouble having the sample fit to the grid, I try new time and that doesn’t help that much. Also I get my samples from TH-cam mostly.
For sure, I want to do more videos on sampling since that's my bread and butter and my strong suit. I think I will drop a sampling video within the next few weeks!
