Have the parents move back to their house in another country, and have the brother who lives in that house take care of the parents....problem solved. Come on, this isn't rocket science.
Agreed. There's way more family supports there, it seems. If health care access is an issue, however, travel costs back to the US may have to be factored in.
Agreed. If they move back to Central America they can probably support them 100% and it’d be way less than here in the U.S. if no one else is willing to chip in.
Plus, if they keep the house in the family, then all the siblings and their children will always have a place to live, no one worrying about ever being homeless, if times get rough. Or rent it out if no one is living in it, and have an extra income for someone in the family. I honestly think it's the worst advice to sell the house.
Its just simple steps. 1. Sell your parents home in America 2. Move your parents back to central America with the brother 3. Let parents live off the profit from the home sale and the parents social security 4. Have siblings chip in a minimum $50 to help parents live comfortable. 5. Come back and forth to America for healthcare.

I think you knew Dave Ramsey in a former life.. good answer!
Its just simple steps.
1. Sell your parents home in America
2. Move your parents back to central America with the brother
3. Let parents live off the profit from the home sale and the parents social security
4. Have siblings chip in a minimum $50 to help parents live comfortable.
5. Come back and forth to America for healthcare.
The family thought her getting an American husband was their winning lottery ticket.
Her too. Dave asked her if her husband knew, before they married, that she’d keep paying for her parents... that girl stuttered before answering. He didn’t know. She saw her husband as a cash-cow, just like her parents see her as a cash-cow. What’s worse is that US tax payers are absolutely paying for her parents too. 1) caller said none of her sibling help, 2) parents are in their 80’s and don’t work, 3) they have assets in Central America that their other kids are living in, but they have “nothing” here, 4) she pays for half their mortgage... where are they getting all the rest of their money? Here’s what I heard: “So I tricked this new guy into marrying me by pretending I love him and now he refuses to pay off my enormous debt and give half of his paycheck to my freeloading family! What do I do, Dave?”
JJ Anthony Pretty much! 🤣🤣🤣
Bingo
That's sounds about right
After a few months it’ll be what should I do Steve or Jerry, Maury or your honor
Also: "My original 5 year plan was to divorce him after he paid off my loan. This has set me back by at least a couple years."
I don't care what Dave says, I'm not paying my wife's debt! Not happening!!!
I fully agree with you.
Same. If it's a small amount, like a few thousand okay no problems. But not student loans.
I really wonder if she talked to her man about it
Then dont get married. It's not yours vs mine.
@@adhdgirlies Yes, we agree with you. Don't get married to women with lots of debt.
This is one of the few times I don't blame the spouse for not wanting to combine incomes . . . yet.
Been in a situation like this before with my ex wife. Now divorced got a new GF without all the deadbeat family members. He doesn't want to share bank accounts because she is just going to give all the money to the family. She is the cash cow with a American husband and all the other family members just leach off of her. Cut your losses dude.
Seen it one too many times. Needs to get out!!! My ex was like this.
A lot of people assume their relatives or friends who live in the United States are rich and having a good life. It's hard for them to grasp the concept that people can still be struggling with debts and other issues.
Thai?
Agree
@zadose cause shes foreign and not a western woman. So shes prob very feminine , and submissive and attractive. So he is a simp and married her to keep her. She prob dont even love this dude and her family think they can milk him thru her
It sounds like he was trying to get her out of crippling debt first. Help yourself before you help others or you won’t be able to do either!
Daniel Iles 💯💯💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
💯 Help yourself first. And never help people who can't help themselves.
“Did he say for rich and for poor” “did he mean it” “so you give money to your family without asking your husband”
This guy is great. Literally no bias, just marriage and dollar signs.
Husband needs to get out of that situation. I was married into a trifling family like that. It doesn’t get any better. Just a marriage full of being the “bad guy” if you don’t allow them to use you and dealing with severe financial ignorance.
It’s best to cut ties.
This show makes me feel okay I'm not married yet.
As a 30 yr old man who makes a good income and has assets, it makes zero sense to get married. The only exception I can see is if I'm gonna start a family with a girl, but as every year passes, I want kids less and less. I know I'm not the only one.
Miranda Taylor haha right?? Especially if you’re already debt free but you know the chances of finding someone else who’s financially responsible and not in a load of debt are slim to none.
ditto
TangyLid and 2/3rd of student loan debt is owned by women.
ErkFX - Roblox & More! Oh cool, i guess i’m the 1% in that area! 8)
I DOUBT very highly that she let him know any of this before the marriage, because he hesitates now I believe if he would have known prior he would not have married.
Conclusion, he got suckered in!
Shes carries more debt than her husband, her family is taking HER on a financial ride and this all some how equates to being her husband's fault...? Intriguing 🤔
MyNameIsCorey Probably has a liberal arts degree.
Who said it was the husband's fault besides you?🤔
@spot light to be fair, chinese math is the same everywhere
Don't think she's really interested fixing the broblem.
females never are. they typically just like to vent
she is not, she was calling to ask for advice on how to persuade her husband to take care of her mom and dad.
Caller stated that she has been paying half of the mortgage for her parents. Where is the other half coming from?
I have a feeling she’s paying the entire mortgage.
How did the parents get a mortgage with no income to begin with.
If those 2000 dls are for the mortgage only, parents are living in a mansion. She is obviously paying for more than half the mortgage or paying for living expenses too.
@@dasmesser1 nope ca thats average price .
@@tippytoe1250 I agree becuz the mortgage is in her name...
Yes the husband made a huge mistake
Marrying her was his mistake
Does "combining finances" mean putting her name on his savings accounts? This guy better run fast!!!
Listening to callers on Dave's show has made me greatly appreciate never taking out student loans.
Amen brother!
All she heard was Dave said it's OK to take care of my mom and dad
The husband made a mistake marrying this woman. I HIGHLY Doubt he knew the specifics of her debt and how much she gave her parents every month.
she threw the puddin at him HARD..
Wouldn't it make sense for them to move back to Central America where they have a paid for home and the majority of the kids live there? It's really easy to send money now a days and USD will be a lot more valuable over there. It's cheaper to fly to see them every 3-4 months than maintain this craziness
Jose U yes but better medical facilities are here in the States
Agreed.
That was what I was thinking. Sell the house in America. Go live in central America. Live off social security and the profit from the home sale. Come to America every 6 months for medical checkups. So much less money will be used that way.
Gkbluestocking Sounds like they can't afford the medical facilities here, either.
@@gkbluestocking they're medical facilities are just about the same. Would I get plastic surgery there? No. But if we're talking health and whatnot, they have comparable medical care. Hence why so many Americans travel to Mexico for otherwise expensive surgeries and prescriptions.
I think it's more they're leeching off the American husband. The daughter probably promised she'd take care of them or something.
The title of this episode should be “Wife tries taking advantage of her husbands income to pay off her debt.”
EXACTLY!
...and keep her parents on vacation"
10000000% females are completely corrupted
@@Naturestheway So true.
Looks like the husband didn't vet her enough before marriage.
He's not supposed to. He's YOUR husband not theirs.
Ramsey’s advice was spot on. I think they should move back
why don't they sell the house here too that they can't afford? they should be renting at 80 if they can't, or like you and dave said move back.
Wow 7 siblings and only one doing all the work. Sad.
That’s usually how it works until they pass on then the rest of them will show up with their hand out lookin for a payout.
It is sad. People are dumping on the young lady, but I actually applaud her for taking care of her elderly parents. Unfortunately, the issues between her and now husband should have been resolved prior to marriage. I hope she finds a way to approach the siblings and convince them to help.
@Be Frank Other than what she said, I have no idea if she told him or what her motives where prior to their marriage. She was already assisting her parents, so that is a major bonus for me.
that's Hispanics for ya
@@CerronPritchett Yes indeed.
$111,000 college education can’t buy common sense. Run brother. File for divorce now before she gets pregnant and your stuck paying child support for 18 years and alimony for the rest of your life.
Divorce without kids may still mean alimony. Annul instead...
7 Siblings, 8 children total, each one of them should bring 250 USD, job done.
Contributing 250 in the US is not the same value as in Central America as that is more than likely a weeks pay there
@@HamiltonRb Yes, good point, but 0 is 0 is 0 in any country. Adult brother lives in their paid for house in Belize, and I don't hear a peep about him paying them rent. They have one overburdened adult child, and 7 with their hands in their pockets.
Amen! Besides that, I don't understand why someone would have that many kids and not be able to afford a mortgage.
@@HamiltonRb so the parents could move there and live off less.
instead of husband expected to give 2k a month!
Yea I don't understand why her parents are still in America.... Most immigrants come here to work. I have lots of family members who know it costs too much to live here so they retire in another country or retire in a cheaper state. I would've told this girl to kick rocks.
Greed isn’t part of marriage she doesn’t love you she love your money
