I grew up with these things, my late father deciding that because you could pile luggage to a great height on the rear mounted luggage rack they made the most practical family car out there. Some winters the frozen hood wouldn't stretch back up and as teenager's we got the full benefit of the slipstream, perched on the higher back seat. On summer holidays we happily bounced around Europe. To be honest, I wouldn't change a thing. Fun to drive as well.
Morgan’s are great I have a 1985 4/4 like this one in the same colour. It goes great and still covers the miles with smiles. Great club support too. Don’t think twice go get one!
Can it be practical? Yes, providing you don't want to take a larger family about or shift furniture. My 4/4 was my daily driver for many years, now has 191k miles on the clock with original engine and gearbox and only its second clutch, and still handles a 180 mile round trip without a hiccup.
The wooded floor boards rotted something horrible. Replace them with marine grade plywood coated with several coats of polyeurathane yacht varnish, don't forget the edges. Problem fixed.
