- In this episode of Reactions on the Rocks...where we have a drink and watch a fun show...we are reviewing Rick and Morty S4 E5 "Rattlestar Ricklactica". During one of their adventures in outer space, Rick and Morty's ship suffers a flat tyre. While they carry out repairs, Morty suffers a potentially lethal snake bite that leads to a complicated, time-travelling encounter with a snake civilisation. Snake Jazz

This episode was also a reference to the fact that the creators of Rick and Morty said they wouldn't make time travel a common theme in the show because it can be messy and unfocused as well as creating tons of plot holes. It's why in an earlier episode Rick specifically says he didn't time travel to get some pizzas, he just took them off a counter lol
That's not really a reference though. They spoke on this in an interview or at comic con or whatever (don't remember where I saw it precisely). They only decided to do this because they felt that with this story popping up in the writer's room they finally thought they had an opportunity to do it properly. And they added also there is no telling if it will ever happen again.
I’m not even sure why he said it was time travel. It wouldn’t have been. He said he went to a universe where dst doesn’t exist. That’s not time travel. It made no sense to say it.
Though Rick does have a box labeled 'time travel stuff' on the shelf in the garage, symbolizing Harmon and Roiland figuratively putting time travel on a shelf.
@@johnj4471 Because he got the Pizza's too quickly. He didn't order Pizza and wait for it to be made then time travel back to when he left, he just went in a swiped the first ones he saw and came straight back.
Merilirem yes I understand that lol. So there’s 2 scenarios present: ricks lie that he went to a dimension where they didn’t invent daylight savings time OR the truth that he teleported to the arnaldos in their universe and just took some off the closed stores counter. Neither of those have anything to do with time travel which these other people keep insisting. It’s the same time in the lie that he went to another universe and it’s the same time in the truth. I think people don’t get dst because it implies that the place was 1 fake hour behind as dst is a human invention
I love the solution being "give them time travel earlier, so they'll be even dumber with it." Because time travel plotlines get flimsier the further back you go.

They gets it. The seasons isn’t bad it just drift off from the continuity. Remember Beth at the end of the last season, she said “things will be like season one”. I love the continuity but it’s nice to get some just fun episodes.

@Michael Mathers Except that the fact that it's Christmas is an integral part of the plot. For example everyone is there for the Xmas party, gathered in one small part of the otherwise empty building. Also everyone hates each other. There is xmas music throughout the movie. Also Bruce gets to put a Santa hat on a dead bad guy and paint "ho ho ho" in blood on his shirt. It's a Christmas movie!

Fun Fact!: Keegan Michael-Key from Key & Peele is the voice of the time cops. Also in every episode note that in every Rick & Morty episode where we get to see the shelf in the garage, Rick has a box written "Time Travel Stuff" on presumably because he has dabbled with time travel in the past before pulling a classic Rick and going "fuck it" and dumping everything in a box and stashing it away
Nope, according to the Rick&Morty Comics the "Time Travel Stuff" Box is actually a Trap designed for the many Pursuers of Rick, like Alien Species or "Bad Guys" who hunt him down. 9/10 who hunt Rick want Time Travel Stuff, and that Box is a Trap that when stolen, activated a Message from Rick where he calls them Names, before causing a Nuclear Detonation. Yep, this really did happen xD The REAL Time-Travel Stuff is hidden in Mortys Underwear Shelf, until Morty warned Rick that "Space Perverts" might look in their, and Rick said he "may" rethink that Hiding Location.

Rick and morty have many theories and one of the main theories is that morty and rick are actually the same person at different stages,but that's debatable
This is "The Other Five" of S4. There was a 6 month break between the first four eps and the next five.
My personal theory is Dan Harmon let his writers go nuts with freedom for the first 4, while he had a heavy hand for the next 5.
There's a HUGE quality difference.
Are you telling that the Reason Season 5 was "the worst of all Rick&Morty Seasons", was because Dan Harmon had a heavy Hand in it? I thought it was, because Writers other than the 2 Co-Creators wrote those Episodes.

Anthony, I think it would be "Abraham Snakeln." When creating a situationally modified version of a name, the ultima of the original name should be retained.
Casey, the "Die Hard is a Christmas movie" was most likely stated ironically, perhaps as a simple, throw-away office joke. We have no way of tracking its origin, as it was prior to social media. Regardless, it was well-received and has become a part of American culture. BTW, according to IMDB it is the 2n best Christmas movie of alltimes.

Fun Fact: That's how snakes really have sex. In Louisiana, during mating season, dozens of them come out of the water and entangle themselves into giant orgy balls. It'sne of the scariest things you can see when night fishing on a lake-shore. lol
_Die Hard_ is a movie that happens to take place at Christmas, nothing more. There is half a handful of references to the fact that it happens to be Christmas-time, strewn throughout the movie, but Christmas is not _integral to the plot._ If those guests had been assembled for _any other_ holiday party - or even a non-holiday-related company party - the movie would have worked exactly the same. It is neither _about_ Christmas, nor does its story _require_ it to be Christmas-time - therefore it's not a "Christmas Movie", but merely a great, kick-ass movie that _happens_ to have Christmas in it.
That's just science. 😁

Throwin that out there. It was a solid show when it was on. Still holds up. Especially if you're binging it instead of waiting for things to develop I think a lot of the fanbase originally got burnt out but if you were like me and watched it once it could be viewed as a whole I thought it was pretty stellar. I would LOVE to watch a full series of you guys reacting to it.

while i felt season 4 was a low point for the show overall, this is one of my favorite episodes
I disagree. Season 4 was pretty good, but Season 5 was the "Problem Season". Season 5 Finale however was simply great, and i wont allow anyone to tell that the Season 5 Finale was "bad", because it was actually more than Great.

Time travel is impossible unless it is also teleportation because everything is moving. You are far away from where you were 1 second in the past. The earth is moving. The solar system is moving. The galaxy is moving. The galaxy cluster is moving. If you simply traveled back in time you’d be somewhere else possibly in space, inside a star or another planet.
