"What can a poor boy do, but sing for a Rock and Roll band.." One of the greatest lyrics ever.

"They say my name is called Disturbance" might relate to how the British Establishment went after Mick, Keith & Brian .... resulting in the jailing of Mick & Keith.

Stones bigger than all. You either get it or don’t.

This is really a recording marvel: no electric guitars; Charlie’s playing a small, portable drum kit; Brian adds some Indian exoticism with those “twangy” sounds during the chorus, which is a sitar and tamboura; Dave Mason from Traffic plays the shehnai (that sound you hear at the end), which is like an Indian clarinet; and the primary rhythm track, including the drums and guitar, was recorded using a portable cassette recorder rather than professional studio equipment.

they've always been my favorite band. when I was about fifteen I actually listened to one of their songs closely. it might've been the first time I paid much attention to music. nothing has replaced them. REM, Pavement, and Radiohead all were contenders but I still listen to the stones more. it's all about the way it sounds. as far as the content, the stones just write well about real stuff. the polish of modern music sounds sterile to me. good reaction.

What’s not to like about the Stones? They are the definition of rock and roll IMHO. Their string of albums from Beggars Banquet through Exile on Main Street might possibly be the greatest consecutive string of albums in rock history 🤘

I think this was the first Rolling Stones song I liked without knowing who it was. I was watching The Fantastic Mr. Fox and loved the scene because of the music.

Something weird thing about Street Fighting Man.....there are no electric guitars on it. It's all overloaded acoustics. ...there's a demonstration of how it was done on the Netflix documentary, Under The Influence. Worth a look.
How about a reaction to Happy? It's one of several Stones songs that arguably aren't Stones songs...Keith wrote it, sang the vocals, played both guitar parts, played bass and had Jimmy Miller(their producer) play drums on it. All in an afternoon!

Mick found inspiration in the rising violence among student rioters on Paris' Left Bank, the precursor to a period of civil unrest in May 1968.

Try “Sympathy for the Devil” live from Get Your Ya Yas Out for heavy rock and roll with Mick Taylor riffing some amazing solos and Keith chunka chunking along as Charlie bashes the drums with rhythmic bottom by Bill Wyman.

When asked about the songs relevance in Rolling Stone magazine thirty years following its release, Mick Jagger said "I don't know if it [has any]. I don't know whether we should really play it. I was persuaded to put it [on Voodoo Lounge Tour] because it seemed to fit in, but I'm not sure if it really has any resonance for the present day. I don't really like it that much."[10]
Bill Wyman didn't play on this song.
    The Rolling Stones
    Mick Jagger - vocals, maracas
Keith Richards - acoustic guitars, bass
    Brian Jones - sitar, tamboura
    Charlie Watts - drums
    Additional personnel
    Nicky Hopkins - piano
Dave Mason - shehnai, bass drum
    Unidentified musician - claves[note 1]

The Stones were part of the original British Invasion. They followed the Beatles who were cute and safe; while the Stones were the anti-Beatles, dark and grungy. They were part of my adolescence but I never bonded with them, they always seemed to be fifty shades of degenerate. Jagger especially. He really should hang it up but he made his deal with the devil so he has to keep going. That being said this is an amazing song, one of several that I can listen to without cringing
