We Italians are so proud of the musical geniouses that came out of Italy over the centuries, and Ennio Morricone is right up there! But you Danish should be proud of your National Symphonic Orchestra. They're bloody great, and did an exceptional job here. It was epic!!! Very, very well done. Respect from Italy.
When you hear this performance you cannot think about the piece of music which of course it is unique. It is the performance that is mind-blowing! Ennio Morricone used only instruments and produced an amazing piece. Here though we have a voice far better than any instrument! Just brilliant!
I confess that I watched with tears in my eyes. I have never seen a symphony orchestra perform a song in the smallest detail. 100% exactly the same as the original of the great Ennio Morricone. Christine and Tuva sing too much, the whole orchestra is sensational and Sarah, beautiful and very talented, conducting everything brilliantly. Is it a "song " ?
@@johnristheanswer I would call it that, yes.
It has all qualifying components.
And playing it requires more member of orchestra then visitors listening to it :D

Back in the late Sixties when I was a boy my father and I would watch these movies and I enjoyed them almost as much as I enjoyed being with my dad. He's gone now and there's no one to turn to and say, "that was REALLY cool!" So I've returned to this video many times to remember those times with dad and each time I get choked up remembering a simpler time for me and the company of my father. I love and miss you, dad!
Lump and a tear.
You were so blessed to have a Dad like that. I hope you both have faith in the Lord.....if so, your gonna have an awesome reunion!!!
Reading this comment welled my eyes!!
I know how you feel sir. I lost my dad 3 years ago. Let it comfort you to think that he helped you to appreciate music like this and therefore he is still within you enjoying it with you.
That is what helps me anyway.
Thanks for your comment.
Very similar feelings for me with my own father who has passed away. Much to love all of you!
Beautiful music and an amazing movie with superb actors.😊
This throws me back 55 years sitting in a darkened theater watching Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach mixing it up in a spaghetti western.
Sounds like a great memory
Awesomeness!
Jim .. i know this sounds horribly nostalgic, but .. if only we could put the clock back .. and skip the last year as we re-wound forward, without this goddam' virus getting in-between and upturning so many lives !!

to those who familiar with loss, the pain is only comparable to the love that was and always will be.
1:03 If you look closely you can see that the orchestra actually hanged one of the audience members purely for the thematics of the performance. Excellent dedication to their craft.

You are so right. I really love the choral parts which are absent in other productions of this piece.
It's an amazing version of the Ecstasy of Gold, for sure , but the Italian one with the Italian soprano, whose voice is definitely more powerful, still rocks and wins the challenge; listen to it: th-cam.com/video/nOE24dd0Xmc/w-d-xo.html
