With the electric outboards, it didn’t surprise me they won’t say anything about range. How are you going to recharge the batteries, and how long will it take if you can find a place to charge them? When the engine stops, you’ll quickly learn the very big difference between being on the side of the road, compared to being a few kilometres offshore.
You could have a generator for emergencies, or you know, PLAN.. Besides, you run eklectric when gas is prohibited, letting you boat where gassers can`t ;)

Yes, I'm aware. They're already showing up in Miami. My guess is they'll phase the 450R out. The 450 and the 500 must be very similar in price. The 600 costs a fortune. But it's more a workhorse engine than the "R's" are. At least that's what everyone tells me. Sort of the Yamaha of the Mercury line. I can't imagine seeing 6 of them (3,000 hp?) across the back of a Midnight Express. Can you? They are almost 20 tons, so maybe. @@michaelmaas5544
Why more than 2 or maybe 3 at most Outboardmotors ? It looks ridicolus with the aft full of them outboarders. 😅😂😂 However i liked that 300 HP Electric one and the Merc last in the vid. 😄👍
Robert, this is a good one. The mega Billionaire, John Pierpont Morgan, at the turn of the century, had a neat saying. "If You Have To Ask How Much It Is, You Can't Afford It". That saying has haunted me forever.
That's funny just not true. I see the 425 ,450,and 600 all over the I C W down in Ft Lauderdale/ Miami area. And coincidentally it's NOT the same boat.
There is opportunity cost to running electric motors. I’m pro electric, but at least be honest. Creating electricity causes pollution and there’s this pesky thing called charging the battery that costs money as well
Electric outboard in the making of the batteries require a lot of water to make them so therefore I think they’re not environmental friendly of the making of the battery is bad for the environment
There may not be any admissions with the electric battery Outboard engines put the batteries and would it take to make them use a lot of water and the water is in contaminated it cannot be used for drinking or consumption by humans have to sell it may not admit any admissions but surely will contaminate plenty of drinking water for us

This dude doesn’t get into any details about the engine. Just one little fact on the engine itself would be cool. For example, why exactly the mercury is so reliable etc.
Yeah, but they don't exist anymore. No longer in production. Volvo pulled the plug on them when they realized they would have to compete against the upcoming Merc V600.
K....issues here. Susuki are better than honda and yamaha. The 3 are amazing but susuki wins. Most reliable on the market and in the commercial fishing world they are taking over. Mercury wins in one category and that is performance. If you arnt racing or a billionaire that just doesnt care you dont want one.... .....Facts😂
Those V12s are absolute monsters ❤❤

You know alot of people don't know it but there's only one outboard motor and unfortunately mercury makes it.oh yeah.
EVERYTHING ELSE…is just an inferior wanna be. Nothing compares to MERC!
I can still remember my first purchase in 1975 @18…a 9.8 for $899.
Johnson outboards 7 up motors
Fun fact the mercury v12 only moves the lower unit to steer your boat also I can’t decide I love all of these brands
And it's also extremely heavy. Almost 300 lbs heavier than a 450R. When the 500R hits the market, that'll be the engine to have.

They are all extremely heavy and no one can afford one and if you could afford one you couldn’t get one .
Damn right a marvel of technology whose priced to the moon
Some of these are offered on mid level bass boats

Direct drive Cummins BTA here. This looks like childsplay.
seven marine 627?
500hp in a tiny engine so why on earth does it take a 8 litre w16 the size of a small car to make 1000hp.

i dont know about the most powerfull outboard. what about 626 and 727
Russia builds a huge airplane that has the same prop system where the blades turn in opposite directions
Almost 320.000 for for engines got be super rich or both
