  • Hosted by Martin Mull,
In 1995, there was a tribute at Musicians Institute in honor of Guitarist Tommy Tedesco. Tommy was part of Happy Kyne and the Merthmakers. In the band playing behind Martin Mull is, Hal Blaine, Greg Phillinganes, Jeff Skunk Baxter, Jay Graydon, Tim May, Mitch Holder, Dennis Budimir, Frank Marocco, and Neil Stubenhaus.
This night had many surprises. If you haven't seen, part one, its worth looking at. Martin is Genius! Joke on a joke. But true. This clip includes Frank Devol (Happy Kyne) and Fred Willard who recently passed. He was an amazing man.

This is awesome to watch. As a GenX, I loved watching Fernwood Tonight on Nick at Nite. Always looked forward to any episode where Happy Kyne and the Mirth Makers played a cover.
Sad to know most passed on since this event.

DeVol is my favorite from that show, i love deadpan comedians and he just kills it. when he did that song "ice cream baby" and finished with, "she so sweet, she makes me sick! DIABETES!" and had a complete straight face, i laughed for hours.
