You missed the main point mate. Getting this means you can actually spend time driving the car vs waiting for your car to be fixed constantly like in say the Ranger.
Pretty good review, but you could hilight that to get constant 4wd in a Ranger you need to outlay $73000. You could hilight were the Triton exceeds the Ranger: - warranty - reliabilty - extra safety across the range - cheaper - better load capacity - better fuel economy - manoeuvrability and smaller turning circle To me this all says that Triton now sets the benchmark.
The first point was highlighted "Need to get a V6 Ranger or Amarok for constant 4WD" As for the rest... Warranty - absolutely Reliability - possibly, though new engine and platform means it's untested Extra safety - not true, Ranger has comprehensive safety across the range so same Cheaper - yep, by a few thousand, that point was made Better load capacity - payload very similar, Triton slight edge with a bigger tray, though Ranger is bigger between the arches by a decent amount Fuel economy - this point was made in the written review and yes Triton does seem better by about 0.5L/100km in our testing Smaller turning circle - only 0.3m in it, but you're right Triton is slightly tighter
Thanks for replying, so you are basically agreeing that the Triton is ahead of the Ranger in quite a few key areas, so this must kinda mean its at the benchmark pointy end. It's seems the only area where the Ranger is superior is ride comfort at low speed and more pitch control on undulations. My theory on this is that the Ranger is better due to 200kg of extra fat. ps on safety everything except front camera is standard on the base GLX and the Ranger doesn't have driver fatigue monitoring...
@@keithholland7465 the ranger is also roomier and the adaptive cruise control is much better than the Triton. Both of them have poor stopping distance. and the turning circle isn't that big of a difference to matter driver fatigue monitoring is garbage tech
Now do a segment with some roadside assistance mechanics regarding the Ranger… I’ve also road tested the new triton and the Ford. It’s getting more and more obvious you are paid by Ford
The video made it clear that it isn't as good as the Ranger/Amarok, okay. But I wonder how does it stack up against the rest. The numbers on paper seem good, and if its 2nd to the Ranger at a much lower cost, then the Triton is a solid ute to get I recon, even if you aren't a Triton fan.
I had a 2019 Triton for 240,000 klms and I currently have a 2022 Ranger which I have done 130,000 klms. While I like the slightly larger cabin space on the ranger, the 6 speed transmission is terrible compared with the Triton. Your review regarding the Triton on how it handles bumps and potholes on the road is just as bad in a ranger. The infotainment system in the ranger is way more glitchy than the Mitsubishi. I will be interested seeing some long term reviews conducted from people who drive these vehicles daily. Mitsubishi has always been underrated in my opinion.
I took a Triton, Dmax, and BT 50 for a test drive. On the same road, did not go off road. Before the test I had my Mindset on the BT 50. I even took 2 different models of the BT 50 on the same driving loop. The Dmax was a NO to me. The BT 50, Was a lot smooth in the gearbox changing gears. But over the same bumps wanted a Bunny hop. And after driving them, My leg ate because of the foot position on the break and saturated petals. Before driving the triton , I was against it because of the Adblue. After the test drive, it ticked all the boxes. There was only 2 issues that concerned me. The engine rev a lot higher while driving and a gearbox changing gears Was snappy. I'm looking for a vehicle. That I can hop in and drive a 1000kms in the trip and still be able to walk the next day.
Toyota XLT??? What’s that? 😮 why is everything based off a lemon 🍋 yes the ranger drives nice and has a large screen 📺 but it’s the lowest for reliability just like the new NF Amarok. So so obvious guys. Why not throw in a quick comparison with the other competition Hilux, dmax etc to hide it. By once again comparing to just the Ranger like Sams shambles review did, your bias has been highlighted. I tested the XLT VS GLS Triton, and the Triton wins hands down and was 8k cheaper.

“The tub has a payload of 1,075” … just need to be clear to people that payload is everything, including passengers and anything that you install on the vehicle … as the tow-bar that you fitted is an “accessory” you need to deduct that from your legal payload. Mitsubishi is being a little cleaver here, almost all the things, like tow-bars for example that are standard on other brands, are a paid for customer accessory, which also comes off your payload. For example, the GR Hilux has a “skinny” payload load, but the rock sliders and tow-bar and wider track have been deducted from its payload, not after.

Another good review. Everybody these days seems to be giving the Ford Ranger a shout out, however, it has been my experience that the Ford Ranger is not that reliable over an extended period of time. The only similar vehicle that I have purchased multiple times with no regrets is the Toyota Hilux.
