C40 Twin 2024, I have the same problem, the majority of the vibration is between 100/km to 109km/h, before and after it is bearable.

Possible fix! I have same issue and have booked in with Volvo in 2 weeks. I have researched this issue extensively and it is most likely due to the sounded deadening foam inside the michelin tyres on both the polestars and volvos which have come loose (glue melted) and bunched up inside the tyre. Have your garage remove the foam inserts from the tyres and should fix your issue! Volvo garage also told me when making my booking that this is a known issue and volvo/polestar will stop using these tyres going forwards. Same issue exists with Ioniq 5 and Tesla as other manufacturers also use the same type of foam.

Same issue with my MY24 C40 twin, the airbag solution is just a temporarily solution I was told by de Volvo dealer. In principle, it's just a vibration demper, to disguise the issue. Really disappointed that the issue is still there with the MY24. Possibly it's to do with an issue of instability of the front motor and driveshaft. I also feel the vibration when the front motor is regenerating. Also, I feel play on the rear motor when slowly accelerating. This is my first Volvo, and it's not the experience I was hoping for. The AWD drivetrain is a mess in comparison with my Tesla Model 3 before. I would recommend people to go for the RWD instead, it will be a better experience with the MY24 XC/C40. The AWD doesn't seem capable of delivering the power to the front axle sufficiently. I experience lots of torque steer as well, making it unpredictable and non-confidence aspiring driving the car in a spirited manner. The car's acceleration feels different anytime I want to make use of the full power. Very inconsistent overall. These cars are made for cruising along, hence I advise to go for the RWD and just enjoy the car as it's intended. In that sense, it's an enjoyable car and relaxing to drive.

Same exact symptoms I’m experiencing. I’m currently going through the process of lemon law . It’s an ongoing issue, they have replaced all 4 axle and front drive motor and steering wheel vibration at 65 mph continued now they are replacing the air bag assembly , but that’s just a temporary fix . It’s a really good looking car but not worth the headache .

I experienced the same vibration problem with my XC40 MY23, which I had for a year until I got my new XC40 MY24. The issue is much different now. The vibration is no longer at 100-110 km. But it is when I accelerate between 70 to 95km. It is totally different vibration. You can feel it in the seat alot. I addressed the issue to my dealer. If anyone have had luck with fixing the problem with the XC40 MY24 ? Let me know 😊

US driver here and yes vibration sucks but I feel it’s gotten better or i just have gotten used to it. Dealership informed me it’s a known issue that Volvo doesn’t have a solution for yet. So I rather hold onto my car rather then have the service dept try something that may/ may not work. Let along have them drive my car for an unspecified amount of miles.

    Hello Thom,

In case it's useful, a few Polestar 2 owners are reporting a similar issue and it's down to the acoustic foam inside the tyre becoming a bit loose and resonating inside the tyre. Not sure this should affect nearly-new cars though!

XC40 Here with the same vibration issue. Please note, that if you let someone else to drive the car and you are in the passenger seat you will still feel the vibration on the car floor. It is a shame that VOLVO took the time to "fool" us with a temp fix. This is not a fix it is a work-around so the driver doesnt feel the vibration. Also since VOLVO doesn't know what is causing this, means that it may be dangerous, especially if the whole car is vibrating (including bolts, batteries, engine, cables, mounts etc).

@@lordvoldemort2564 It sounds like you’ve had quite a frustrating experience. Yes, since Volvo has acknowledged the issue and their attempts to fix it have worsened the situation, you can absolutely request a car replacement (if they accept). Given that it’s been such a long struggle for me as well, I’ve already started working with lawyers to explore legal options if the normal route doesn’t work. Having legal backing ensures we’re prepared if necessary. I have doubts that Volvo will address this issue any time soon and for this reason I have requested a car replacement and I wait for their reply.
