A lot of hard work went into learning to do those things. People say it's talent, I wish I could do that, blah blah blah. You can, you just have to have the passion to do it day in and day out for years. It's hard work like every other art. Everyone has the ability, but not everyone has the will to spend the time necessary to reach that level. I hate the word talent. People use it like that person has a cheat code. Nope. They were just willing to put in the work.

It's difficult to not like these more than the originals if you enjoy jazz. Scott's arrangements are spectacular.

I never knew what I liked about PMJ. Genre twisting is a good term. One that occurs to me is genre, weaving.
I enjoyed this rendition and the showmanship. This man played the hell out of his bass and put on a great show - love that!
BTW - Adore Scott's many efforts and arrangements over the years, and the fine piano man here, so get the sticks outta ya behinds, people... Diversity in Jazz is what makes the range of this music great. The grin and bounce in my step that this video has given me may last the whole day. 😂

I can't describe the feeling this song ignites in me. I'm not like a big rockabilly nerd or even a Bee Gees fan, but there's something so special about this cover I can't describe

I am stupified at Scott Bradley's piano talent. I assume he composed the arrangement of this great track which suits this drum style and a great bass performance. but, and it is a big but the piano break at 1.30 is entrancing, eloquent and sublime. Fan-bloody-tastic!

My friend, almost my brother "IsiRockin" played double bass and sang. He also did slap and danced with the double bass. He passed away a couple of years ago and would be pleased to see this great performance.

Upright bass seems a little formal,....I have always liked "bull fiddle" for the times the musician "goes off" on it!! That was one of those times!! The guy tickling the ivorys lets fly in this rendition too! All this mayhem held together by rock solid beat from the percussion section! Well done gang!

This hits way different from the original. I think this one brings more attention to the actual lyrics and the voicing sells that story, while the original focused all the power on "staying alive" so much that I lost the rest when listening to it.
That's not a criticism of the original, I love their performance, but I am intrigued by how this pulled something new from the same lyrics.

Hands down best song I’ve ever heard live. Cogans Instant Art, Norfolk Va cir 1993 ish. Acoustic Guitar, washtub bass, snare and high hat. Did Staying Alive and brought the hose down.
