Great Voice! Spot-on the whole way through. My favorite part about PMJ other than fun creative interpretations of popular music, is that they showcase talented people who can actually Sing Really Well and Play Real Instruments.

A lot of older Green Day songs are simple but have amazing fundamentals that make them fantastic for covers. A ridiculous amount of them have crazy cover potential

The structure, chord progressions, tempo, and rhythm of most new songs already exist. I hope the cover more Green Day! A jazz noir version of Wake Me Up When September Ends?

For some reason I feel like most people feel this style lends credence to the lyrics, and they would rate the lyrics as better or more sophisticated just because of the style.

I like the Green Day song, but I just LOVE this version. It's so effervescent and bubbly and bright and lemony in its appeal. It's so fresh and enchanting. Tatum Langley is absolutely gorgeous and she should be front and center for all of your major engagements. She's a natural showstopper! So talented and stylish!

Wouldn't have got radio play, but might have been heard in some clubs...
Honestly it would have done well in nightclubs 😊 people of the past were raunchier than mainstream pop culture portrayed.
@@digitigIf it was going for radio play in the 40s, they could swap out "sex" for "love" and "I went on a date/who said my life's a waste" instead of "I went to a whore/He said my life's a bore".
@@thirteenfury I suspect that in the 40s the false rhyme would have excluded it from airplay almost as much as having risque lyrics would. There was a lot more expectation of rhymes being perfect in those days.
As a jazz/swing woodwind player (enthusiastic amateur) and beginning guitar player, I prefer this version over the original. Tatum is outstanding on this song. This arrangement could use a bari sax for the bottom, IMO. lol

lol I learn the lyrics to many songs via these covers. I always thought it was "am I just paranoid, or am I just _me_ " (Now that I know, it's probably because I usually listen to this on the radio and they censor "stoned" but I never picked up on it)

Amazing performance, perfectly on brand for the late '50s and wonderfully playful. The reference to Mrs Maisel certainly fits the disparity between the upbeat tune and the lyrics. Love it!
