You said you don’t have kids so I’ll let you know how powerful it truly is. My son died at the beginning of this year and this song saved my life. One day I’ll see him again…that’s the truth. I heal a little more each day and that gives me the strength to be there for my other kids. It’s brutal but comforting to think about.

The first time Craig sang this song was live at the Grand Ole Opry. There's actually a video of him singing and barely making it through the song. When he walked off stage Ricky Skaggs told him how good the song was and Craig responded I'm glad you liked it I will never sing it live again. Several of his close friends including Blake Shelton convinced him that he needed to sing this song as a healing process not just for him but for others that had lost children.
I highly recommend the song “Believe” by Brooks and Dunn. A story written by Ronnie Dunn about an beautiful friendship he had with an elderly man growing up. Such a beautiful song!
Lady L., I agree with you on that song, its beautiful. You also provided me with some info that I didn't know. I had no idea that it was based on a friendship Mr. Dunn had as a young man. Thank You, Just Me
Craig Morgan is one artist who served in the Marines and did 2 or 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and who knows what he endured over there but when he lost his son it was the worst thing that he had ever experienced but he said writing this song helped him with the grief but it was so hard to sing it and it was his good friend Blake Shelton that convinced him to record it
I've never seen such visceral pain so evident on a person singing such a personal song. I felt broken watching him. I felt like him doing this song was a painful salvation.
Dads Hurt Too People don't always see the tears a dad cries, His heart is broken too when his child dies. He tries to hold it together and be strong, Even though his world's gone wrong. He holds his wife as her tears fall, Comforts her through it all, He goes through his day doing what he's supposed to do, But a piece of his heart has been ripped away too. So when he's alone he lets out his pain, And his tears come like falling rain. His world has crashed in around him, And a world that was once bright, has gone dim. He feels he has to be strong for others, But Dads hurt too, not just the Mothers, He searches for answers but none are to be found, He hides behind a mask when he is feeling down. He smiles through his tears, He struggles and holds in his fears. But what you see on the outside is not always real, Men don't always show how they really feel. So I'd like to ask a favor of you, The next time you see a mother hurting over the loss of her child, Please remember.....Dads Hurt Too!
Cole Swindell, You should be here. Written for his dad, who passed just before Cole signed his first recording contract. First time I heard that song was 0932 23 February 2016. I had just gotten to my car in the hospital parking lot after spending the last 4 days there as my dad slipped away. His 16.5 year battle with colon cancer was over. He lived 16 more years than he was expected to by his doctors. Every day he treated as a blessing. I started my car, song came on. I'm not ashamed to say it took another 30 minutes before I could safely drive home. Now the song still brings tears but out of love of cherished memories
I gave you a like and I’m commenting because I wanted to say Thank You for understanding the gravity of what he was singing about and not stopping the video every ten seconds like a lot of reaction video people tend to do. I thought that was very respectful. ❤ And I can listen to this song a thousand times and it will make me cry everytime.
This song means so much to me, even more so when Craig morgan lost a son in such a way. I held my 5 yr old son as he took his final breath in this world to meningitis back when the terrorist attacks on NY happened. So many years passed BUT for a parent time means little in that respect. Thank you for covering this song.
Pat…. As the person that requested this I lost my son when he was a week old to a tornado in 2018. I’ve never heard a song that could touch on exactly how I feel…. The pain never goes away we just learn to live with it. My thoughts are with you and your family
@@williammaguire5475 As you can guess I feel the very same in regards to this song. No song ever moved me more than this one does. Even songs from about the time when he was with us now fail to move us more than this does. BUT it also helps to show people that this is How a parent feels when they lose a Child (regardless of their age. A child is always a child to a parent. Listening to music helps to try heal, But for me writing poetry is my escape. In turn my thoughts are with you and family .. Thank you again.
Lost my son 3 years ago in January. 23 years young. Still the pain is real. Had it not been for God and his little brother We would have never survived. Thank you for this video and thanks for being you.
This song is absolutely powerful! Craig Morgan is an absolute amazing artist! My Mom has lost 2 children. My Brother passed away in "09 from an accidental overdose. Then, this past June 8, my sister passed away. My Mom is 72 yrs young and I don't understand how she stays so strong! I know she has faith but it boggles my mind how strong she is!
I have been following Craig Morgan since he came out! My whole family and I saw Craig Morgan when he was touring with Tracy Lawrence and Lila McCann in Hardeeville, SC back in early 2000's! He was the best artist/performer at that show! My son caught two of his towels and some guitar picks he thew into the crowd! It is still one of the BEST concerts I've been to! HIS PERFORMANCE WAS THE SHOW!

This song has helped me through some really rough days. See I lost my son to an IED in Afghanistan 3 weeks after I retired from a 35 year Army career. I had to dress in my uniform and go to my daughter's house and tell her that her twin brother had been killed. I tore my heart when instead of hugging me she slammed the door shut locked it and hasn't said a word to me in 4 years. One IED and I lost both of my kids. I want to see my son again.
This song always chokes me up. Beautifully done. May his son rest in peace and may Craig and his family find peace and comfort. Thank you Rxyce! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I lost my son 8 years ago, and it is a tough journey, and he catches that journey so well. Thank you for your reaction, you are an angel, for it matters.
The pain and anguish a parent feels after losing a child is unbearable. Mr. Morgan is correct in that all we ask for is some ambition, the strength to get up in the morning. I lost my son 2 years ago to a sudden heart attack. He was 38. This song not only chokes me up and brings on the sorrow, but it reminds me to keep my faith and that day will come when I am Home and see my son again. Your kindness and beautiful personality shines through on your videos. Thank you for this..
Craig has expressed how hard it is to perform this song live because of the difficulty he has getting through it. But he has been encouraged by many fans to push through and perform it at each concert because it's an important healing song for so many others that have also lost loved ones and it's a gift to them to hear him sing it. Every time I've seen him perform it live you can see the pain and struggle he goes through. He does it for the love his son and the love for his fans.
Oh wow, I never thought of the light cracking through the basement as being a symbol of hope in a dark place…wow a truly unique and beautiful perspective on the video…your reaction is as beautiful as you…keep them coming.
Knowing our loved ones are in heaven gives us a measure of hope. Having lost a brother at birth, a son and grandson at birth makes it more difficult. I feel the memories that help us heal were stolen. It makes grieving go deeper and last so much longer. God bless you Craig for this song.
I don’t like to suggest heart wrenching songs because I don’t want to cry and I don’t want to make others cry. But When I’m gone by Joey and Rory is an AMAZING song!! They recorded it unknowing that 3 years later Joey would die from cancer.
Lost my daughter 9 years ago, and each day I wake, Nikki's the first thing on my mind, and is there until I fall asleep. Yeah, the pain dull's but never goes away. When he sung the song on the Kelly Clarkson show, you could feel his pain to your soul as he almost didn't make it to the end.
I lost a son, and miscarried a second son, you will never be forced to live through anything harder in your life ever. You will never feel your guts ripped out or be able to unhear that gut wrenching scream of a mother who finds or is told her baby has been ripped from her soul. 💔 The pain is never gone no matter how many more children they have. Mothers day, Christmas, birthdays, death anniversary its hard to even breath. My son has been gone 38 years now I still feel like a bomb has gone off in the pit of my stomach. I watched my sister n law go through it twice, her son killed on his dirt bike by a drunk driver, and her daughter some 30 years later to suicide. When they put her child in the herse to go to the grave site she let out that horrific scream only a mommy can know. She is now raising her grandbabies. All she has left to keep her in this world. So if you have children go hug them today, it doesn't matter if they are 2 or 72 they are always your baby.
I almost lost my son right after giving birth to him, and the fight to keep him alive was long, so I understand what you're saying. I am so sorry for your loss!!
Oh my gosh. I cry every time I hear this. I saw when he first sung this song live. He wrote it in about 20 minutes in the middle of the night and he couldn't sleep. He was thinking about the loss of his son and he said the words just came to him and he got up and went downstairs and wrote them down. He didn't want to forget them. But when he first sang sung ? Sung this LIVE he was crying and it was heart wrenching. My husband lost his daughter a couple years ago and she and I were so close. I knew her since she was a baby. She was only 32 when she passed away from colon cancer and she had 2 daughters. He also has a song called almost home or I was almost home but he wrote that a long time before he lost his son. It's a great song though. Thank you for sharing this.
You seem to be such a gentle soul. You have become my favorite reactor in such a very short time. I would love for you to react to "Alyssa Lies" or "Tears" by Jason Michael Carroll. Have your tissues handy you will need them.
I am so glad you watched this video! I've seen it many times and watched him sing it live. And I still haven't made it through once without welling up with tears. He must have GREAT faith to be able to write about something so painful. And incredible fortitude to be able to perform it on stage.
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. craig morga does a song called This ain't nothing, you would love it and he does one called Almost Home which we are playing at my brother's funeral this Sunday. Love your sweet spirit
There's beauty and pain on this Earth. When the Lord calls us home, the pain will be gone. He'll dry our tears, welcome us and reunite us with loved ones. And we'll have an even bigger family, full of love. That's a faith worth having.
Beautiful I feel him I just lost my daughter on August 31st 🥺😔 and if I let my mind wander just a little and I just lose it. I cry everyday I don't know how to stop.
Music can help us move on to the next chapter in our lives. This song resonates with so many and helps us feel less alone. Thanks, Craig, for sharing this song with so many who have lost loved ones.
Are you the gentleman who requested this song? I am deeply sorry for your loss. How hard that must be. Hang on to all the beautiful memories you have of your loved one. Nobody can take those away from you.
I'm sorry for your loss. Me and my husband just went through this. It's been a couple years but it always feels like yesterday. I saw him sing this live and I cried like there was a storm coming from my eyes. I pray for you and your family.
As a commenter below pointed out, he first performed this at the Grand Ole Opry and said that was the first and only time anyone would ever hear it, then legendary singer Ricky Skaggs, as well as other country singers said this song needed to be heard... Blake Shelton, who had just come out with God's Country even told fans to buy this song and put it at the top of the charts over his own song when Craig finally recorded and released it
I know his pain very well. I lost my son in 2022 a hit and run driver. He was only 28 years old and had two beautiful kids He was my hero and still is I’m in a wheelchair and he took care of me all the time he was my hero. He was my son he was my friend. I miss and love him so much but as the song says I’ll know I’ll see him one day. Pray for me.

Wonderful reaction to what is much more than a great song. This is a large piece of Craig's heart. He always has such a hard time getting through it (understandably). RR you seem to have a sensitivity and empathetic heart far beyond your years. Craig is such a great guy from everything I have heard, He served as a combat medic for I think 8 years. After turning his attention to music full time, he and one of his kids were driving home and happened upon a house fire. He of course stopped to help. The FD had not yet arrived as it was just happening. He was told that there were still people inside and I understand he carried 2 people out as the FD was pulling up, then pulled a hose line and helped out. We don't always get what we deserve in life. Maybe it's a test of our strength and character. There is another great song of his that you should check out. It is a great message for the way things have been over the last year and a half (though it was written well before Covid etc) It is called this ain't nothing. You want the official video version. I have included the link if you choose to use it. looking forward to more from you. Follow your heart! th-cam.com/video/eSdItuvBxc8/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for being so sweet❤ I feel his pain, I lost my husband, then I lost my mom, then I lost my dog😢 trust me I know about loss and it is hard and I am trying to hold on just like he is🙏
Rogue you are a beautiful soul, thank you so much for reactions. I love that you say keep the faith, never, never loose faith. May God bless us all. To all the other folk who have had comment on this video, you are all awesome!!! Much love.
I just lost my 36 yr old niece 2 weeks ago from breast cancer. A beauty inside and out, never smoked and was very active with her husband and 2 daughters. I couldn't have children so my 5 sisters included me with their births. Ashley was my 1st birth and she was so pretty and my sister finally asked if she could see her after 5 minutes. Sorry for going on but felt the need to share. Live each day as if it was your last. Love and light to all ❤
You should listen to any and all of his songs he is amazing. He is ex military. This song hits home for so many people. Thank you for doing the reaction❤🌹
We played this at my oldest son's funeral in May. He was my 2nd son that has passed away, my youngest son passed on 10/25/12 & my oldest son 05/12/21! This song really hits me hard!
The song wrote itself , he woke up in the middle of the night and the words just came . The first time he sang it was on the Grand Ole Opry and that was only time he planned to sing it . Blake Shelton put out a post on his Twitter for everyone to make it number 1 on itunes.
Such a great tribute! Thank you for sharing, his family’s loss is heart breaking and it so nice seeing other respond to this song! God is so good even in the dark times of our lives! Thanks for sharing! Praying for Peace and blessings for Craig and Karen
I discovered this song when my son passed and it saved my life. It was like god heard my tears because I had the gun barrel in my mouth and this song came on..
Been there, nothing in any language will get across how you feel and the sorrow you go through. It never gets easy to deal with, so I focus on the happy memories. It helps.
This song was for his son who he had lost in an accident some months before and was a way for him to work through his grief . Craig is a vet and a talented song writer and singer .
Let's talk about Shelton Blake he was going to win number one country song, he pulled his song so Craig would win, that's a true friend

Dads Hurt Too
People don't always see the tears a dad cries,
His heart is broken too when his child dies.
He tries to hold it together and be strong,
Even though his world's gone wrong.
He holds his wife as her tears fall,
Comforts her through it all,
He goes through his day doing what he's supposed to do,
But a piece of his heart has been ripped away too.
So when he's alone he lets out his pain,
And his tears come like falling rain.
His world has crashed in around him,
And a world that was once bright, has gone dim.
He feels he has to be strong for others,
But Dads hurt too, not just the Mothers,
He searches for answers but none are to be found,
He hides behind a mask when he is feeling down.
He smiles through his tears,
He struggles and holds in his fears.
But what you see on the outside is not always real,
Men don't always show how they really feel.
So I'd like to ask a favor of you,
The next time you see a mother hurting over the loss of her child,
Please remember.....Dads Hurt Too!
That is beautifully said!

She was only 32 when she passed away from colon cancer and she had 2 daughters. He also has a song called almost home or I was almost home but he wrote that a long time before he lost his son. It's a great song though. Thank you for sharing this.
@Shannon Stepp Thanks for being Craig Morgan super fans, how long have you been following Craig Morgan !
You seem to be such a gentle soul. You have become my favorite reactor in such a very short time. I would love for you to react to "Alyssa Lies" or "Tears" by Jason Michael Carroll. Have your tissues handy you will need them.
I've never heard this song before. Thank you, so much.
Sweet reaction.
RIP Andrew. I'll see you soon
You are a kind soul thank you for playing that 🙏🙏😇🙏
I truly love watching your videos because your intro is so relaxed and makes me want to just relax and enjoy
I am so glad you watched this video! I've seen it many times and watched him sing it live. And I still haven't made it through once without welling up with tears. He must have GREAT faith to be able to write about something so painful. And incredible fortitude to be able to perform it on stage.
I played this at my daughter's memorial 14 months ago I cry like a baby every time I hear it so thank you Mr Morgan for continuing to sing it
Love your reaction. You should see the live version. His emotions in that song bring me to tears every time
Always cry with that song
It is a loving touching song I had a friend in that situation too my mom's friend
You need to see the live version with him and Blake Shelton explaining the way the song became popular. Very touching
This song keeps my heart tender, and the faith that we are all here until our purpose here is finished.
I am so sorry!
Music can help us move on to the next chapter in our lives. This song resonates with so many and helps us feel less alone. Thanks, Craig, for sharing this song with so many who have lost loved ones.
I'm absolutely in tears myself, just can't imagine of losing a child it must feel like a great big hole is in your heart.
You show so much empathy for these songs I love your comments on them.
Beautiful song
Great reaction beautiful lady you are awesome
This song makes me cry every time, I couldn’t imagine losing my little boy!
Thank you for this!!!!! And thank you for the outpouring of empathy! I’ll be requesting again. Craig said what I couldn’t describe…..
Are you the gentleman who requested this song? I am deeply sorry for your loss. How hard that must be. Hang on to all the beautiful memories you have of your loved one. Nobody can take those away from you.
@@deborahbryan3639 yes ma’am I am the one who requested this and thank you. Every day is a new day I’m living to see him when it’s my time.
@@williammaguire5475 He’ll be there waiting for you!
You have such a sweet spirit... much love my sister... 🙏
It is to early for me to talk about this , but this song gives hope !
God Bless !
Even not having children to hear the love and heartache in Craig’s voice touches me sooo much ♥️! Glad you got to hear it
I just want you to know...you are the single most beautiful person I have ever seen, both inside and out. You beam such bright light and love. Thank you for all you share with us!!

I can relate to this.. Lost my son September, 2015. Lost a grandchild July the same year.. I know the feeling.. Thank you for reacting to this
This song gets me every single time!
Beautiful song
"I won't completely heal until I go home!" This line means he won't be healed until he dies and goes home, to heaven.
As a big Craig Morgan fan I wish I could meet him and give him a big hug
Your voice is so soothing. Liked, subscribed. Thanks.
Your vibes are contagious. And you are also a beautiful person.
Love watching you videos and reactions. My wife said your most loving person she has seen me react to.
Love and light to all ❤
Love your reaction and I agree I have not been through it beautiful soul added you
You should listen to any and all of his songs he is amazing.
I am so sorry!
@@deborahbryan3639 thank you so much

He says it takes everything to sing it...and some nights he doesn't have it in him.
Your analogy is right on ♥️
Ty Rxyce I loved that what Beautiful person you are inside and outside thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙💙💗💜💗💜💗💜
You are such a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. Thanks for understanding differences in the world.
The song wrote itself , he woke up in the middle of the night and the words just came . The first time he sang it was on the Grand Ole Opry and that was only time he planned to sing it . Blake Shelton put out a post on his Twitter for everyone to make it number 1 on itunes.
ive only watch 2 of your videos (Chris Stapleton ) and this one and i cried on both.
