Still BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the post, amazing performance and sublime editing.
cannot agree more!
yep, they still have it.
WOW ... agree absolutely brilliant. And Ron .... smiled! 😄 Haha ... fantastic to see!
Great singing and band TOTALLY let down by the awful editing
@@gowdsake7103 Yep. Is all got to be whizzy whizzy and camera waving for "effect". I gave up at 1.55.
Best American British duo ever.
C'est vrai qu'ils ont vieilli (mais nous aussi en même temps 😂) . N'empêche que le talent est toujours là, et c'est à souligner !!!!!!! Merci à eux ❤
Something I thought I'd never see in my life: Ron Mael SMILING.
It's only a gimmick funny man on interviews
😂
OMG, I am embarrassed to admit that I saw Sparks live in Oxford, UK in November 1974. Yes, 45 years ago I was 18 years old. I am now 63 & they are still going strong. Unbelievable!!
Don't be embarrassed....be proud! I remember them from the 70's and we are all still enjoying ourselves xx
Anna Gibson You’re right Anna! I should be proud that I had such good taste in music all those years ago & still do! Thanks xx
Have you seen the new documentary? I wonder if footage from that show is in it.
No need to feel embarrassed, you saw the band that made one of the greatest pop records of all time! I wish I'd been there with you.
So did I! And I'm even older than you lol Not embarrassed at all!
Incredible! Russell is still doing his falsettos, just like many years ago, and Ron... Ron is still Ron.
Russell's falsettos are still awesome, saw them April 2022
@@MsUrbangirl - April 2022, Wow, where?
Changed the tash tho, wish he had kept it. Hitler doesn't own it. Witch hunts..
His voice is so pure it will never ever be replaced! I can't believe he still has it after all these years
It’s still the same voice!!
Singing at 71, in tune, and having the time of their life :) Ron´s 74 now..
Doing these songs for nearly fifty years and they still kick ass!
Two brothers, one 68 and still singing the high notes and one 71 and still playing the piano like that....
Amazing, his voice is just like it was in the 70's. I played the tracks back to back. A lot of vocalists lose some of their edge but damn that was good
Yep. Russell Mael singing as good as ever and Ron still looking like Hitler. 😆
@Thejimbobs Maybe, but I remember him wearing a slightly brown shirt on Top of the pops once. 😅
@Thejimbobs Thank you for that.
Perhaps Hitler was a fan of Chaplin, well until the Great Dictator was released
Cant believe Ron is in his 70's, he's still as active on stage as he's ever been :D
Ron is the keyboard player, Russell is the vocalist.
Exactly :)
@@dafix1972 I can see your point now :-)
Russell has such a difficult job. Ron, not so much.
This song has EVERYTHING: the music, the metal guitar, the soprano voice, I’ve loved it for ages.
The melody is incredible.... Fantastic
This is one of the best songs from the 70's era.
Now Im convinced that the guys from King Gizzard & the L. W. listened and studied The Sparks endlessly. This is a Brilliant band. Still.
Remember the first time I heard this in 1974....it blew me away and I told all my friends about it..... and it STILL DOES blow me away.... amazing track and very talented guys.
Russell sounds fucking amazing, not even considering the fact he’s almost 70
How many bands from today will be going this long not many still rocking the place out for their age 👍
Kimono my house, the first album I ever bought. I still play it. Long live the 70's
I saw them perform on Don Kirshner Rock Concert in the early 70s went out and bought In Discreet tracked down a Japanese import on CD a few years back and still listen to it regularly.
😍yep , i was 14 in England. Love this band and ended up in California where they're from
Ron used to terrify me as a kid. Now I see he's absolutely hysterical. 😅
2 things had me hiding behind the sofa when i was a kid.
1. The darleks
2. Ron Mael on TOTP looking straight in the camera doing a Hitler impersonation
Ron's akward smiling
@@pablosantander5739 I love Ron lol
@@richardlee7124 I get more of a Charlie Chaplin vibe than a Hitler vibe.
He's a cross between Charlie Watts and John Lydon.
my god 70 years of age and a timeless song, the backing band are superb
Scottish audiences are simply the best.
I'm stunned that almost 50 have passed since the first and only time I've had the opportunity to see Sparks in concert. They were great then and they're still great now.
I'm a musician and you mix Edith Piaf and rock and roll and you got Sparks, they're different but super talented. Bob
Kimono My House........one of history’s greatest rock albums.
On this subject there’s no debate 😀
Says who?
@@jackcrane7853 SAYS ME ! :)
@@kempowarrior1954 So what
Best band ever
When these two fantastic artists go, we're all finished
Einfach überirdisch. SPARKS. Unsterblich. TOP.
BLOODY HELL! If i hadn't seen this i wouldn't have believed it!
Russell sounds like he did when i was nine back in '74.
And i see Ron hasn't changed any either :)
This band have been consistently brilliant for over 40 years. Great to see Russell still singing so well!
After all those years he still got a good voice.
Amazing performance. Russell's voice is still as good as it was back in 1974
The guy on the Keyboard looks like scatman John. Thx for uploading, it's erm... special and kinda catchy.
For those who don't know, Sparks was featured in the movie, Rollercoaster.
Russell et Ron Maël, les frères géniaux de la pop Américaine, toujours aussi brillants, inventifs, inclassables: créateur d'une pop intergénérationnelle et novatrice, après plus de 4 décennies ! Bravissimo !!!
Brilliant!!
*Oh Gee* !... *The Russel Bros on Tour* ... *never miss them alive* !
What a GREAT version !!!
Absolutely Fantastic ....
Who did noticed that Ron changed the Roland brand logo of his keyboard into ‘Ronald’ ? 4:08
Though I believe that's a Yamaha Motif XF8, he used to use Roland keyboards and did change the Roland badge to Ronald, so just kept the tradition.
MEEEEE! 👌
Yep, did see that! :-)
He has been doing that for a very long time. 😅
Wouldnt have expected Russell's speaking voice to be as deep as it was.
The young band brought a whole lot of energy to the Sparks classics! It was great!
I was lucky enough to see Sparks in 1974 on their Propaganda Tour at the Victoria Hall in Stoke on Trent, unbelievable that they're still going strong 43 years later.. Brings back so many great memories :))))
Stumbled upon it, my Father passed away more than two decades ago and this along with Blondie was his music. I enjoyed seeing them in such good form years past when you think they would be defunct.
Your dad had excellent taste.
Yes I agree great choices two of my favourite bands
Russell’s voice! Just wow! Still sounding brilliant
I rarely comment on you tube videos he sounds bloody amazing !
Wow. That guy has no right to be singing as well as that at his age. Hardly changed at all, good on him.
they were brilliant in the 70s and still brilliant today
Now they are brilliant in their 70s. A new album is out, if I am not mistaken. In 2020.
amazing.. 45 years after.. and they still sound great...
n'importe quoi ça fait pas 50 ans mais 40 max
I like it that Ron has got Ronald on his keyboard and not Roland. :)
Classic ... love it! 🎹💚💛
Awesome :)
Ronald Von Herr Hitler still rockin after 80 years
TheVerticalDave hahaha Ronald von Hitler still on keyboard in 2017...
saw them live in Berlin June 2023 they were even better than this performance and the place was packed and rocking the ceiling off, truly one of the most talented acts in history
So cool!!! They've still got it!! Their humor and fun attitude has been a fountain of youth for them, and all the rest of us who've followed them through the years. So damn underrated too.
Listened to this in 1970´s. Still sounds so amazing!
where did that forty years go ,,, i blinked and half my life flashed by.
Me too, can I rewind please, I didn’t appreciate the last 40 yrs
This song was way ahead of its time. Left glam rock standing !!!!!!!
Absolutely!!!
Yeah....This song is a true evergreen...!!!!!!!!!!
They predated punk and Queen...'nuff said...
True. The rest are bunch of amateurs.
this was a weird song for the time indeed
I can remember listening to these songs when I was a kid and I used to play their Kimono My House album all the time. There was nobody that sounded like Sparks at the time and nobody has sounded like them since.
Russell still sings pretty good 40 years or so later what must be a difficult style to sing, and it was funny seeing Ron's personalised 'Ronald' Roland keyboard 😆👍
Russell has still a brilliant voice!
he still sounds like the original version amazing
My first 45 RPM in the 70’s 👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️
I just saw them for the first time. They were still amazing!
Wow that second song , I haven’t heard it since it first came out back in the day ….. 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍
Thats so cute when he said My big brother.
The awesome Sparks show how it's done! I was lucky enough to experience them in 74 on their first time in the UK....when girls ripped his trousers off. Lol 😊
atmosphere was incredible inside. Lots of real superfans there.
it makes todays crap music sound like a bad fart in a tin box . The ever brilliant and talented Sparks
here here
You said it bro'!
Just as good as they were in 70s
Russ is in a unique group of pop stars who can sing "exactly" the same as they sang 50 years ago.
Actually, I cant think of any others.
Turner Manc - -Jon Anderson is still singing as great as ever too.
@@tonysharp1615 I defiantly agree with that
Hello from 2022. They're still going, just saw them in NYC, with their 2 combined ages being 149 :-)
Ain't it a bloody shame we all have to grow old...
Yep I got to see them way back when I was 12.....all we did was SCREAM. Ahem.
We are only as old as we want to be.
Ron..... still scaring the shit out of me forty years later!!!
Still hits the high notes perfect
I remember watching them in the telly as a kid, and they fascinated me! I thought they sounded amazing, and I finally got to see them live last year, and they were brilliant!
How did they get out of the Telly though?, Did you help pull them out....? 😂
You’ve got to love Ron and Russ. A great life performance , tremendous energy, great band.
Wow! I'm from that era and remember Sparks well. He has retained that high tenor voice too. Great stuff.
Two unbelievable great songs from a unbelievably great album!
Still amazing.
It's beautiful to see Sparks playing again and better than ever!
70's music, knocks spots off of today's crap!
Especially the crap with the silent "c"
Paul B
100% buddy
Davros CreatoroftheDaleks
Brilliant and very True
Ok boomer
There is some good songs of today
Saw them back in Boston about 1976! They opened for Patti Smith! Amazing still! Love!
Unbeatable.
wish I was there .sparks are still sparkling and will for ever in the hearts of those who listen to the stars .
Questa canzone mi riporta indietro nel tempo, ricordi della mia gioventù
I was Thrilled in 1976 and still now
Good to see Ron is still changing the name of his keyboard to Ronald .
They have aged so well! What a voice! What enthusiasm!
One of a kind sound. Revolutionary back then, and still holds up. Did you know Sparks was one of the Beatles favorites? Mine too!
Rock on Sparks, still got it. Obsessed with the new album. Bloody brilliant. MORE! MORE!
Such an underrated band,
Ron Mael for President!
who 's that ?
@@charlesandrecopt5266 He's the guy who runs the country, or in Trump's case .......
A Brilliant Piece of Music ,,,,, Brilliant Performance
Russel looks older but can still hit the high notes as if he were 22.
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22
Pretty damn good still performing for 40+ years. Always more popular in Europe than here in the US.
Damn his voice sounds great!!!
Wow! Just heard this song on a Apple IPAD commercial just now!
still defying age gravity and better than most today
fucking awsome
My childood, and first love. I love you!
Damn, that was a tight performance. Kudos to Sparks for a great performance!
Wish the original cast like Norman Dinky Diamond as drummer and Ian Hampton on bass w Trevor White being guitarist also Adrian Fischer as guitarist was here to still play
So fantastic to see them getting some recognition. Amazingly inventive guys. I was in the fan club in 1974!
What an honour it must be for the band to play with Ron & Russell
WOW! Nice one Sparks! Tight band you have there!
Sparks were my first concert at Glasgow's Apollo Theatre on 18 Oct '75, I was 14.5! Still sounding fab!
They still kicking ass on stage - love that song.
i got that reference!
The misssst
OMG brings back my days at high school in the UK :)
ghostlyyyy & so modern :) Sparks 50 years ahead ;)
