- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 8 ก.พ. 2025
- The most INSANE episode we've filmed yet... South of the Tele Track in far North Queensland lies a 4x4 track like no other, the notorious Frenchman’s Track! We tackle some of the wildest conditions we've ever seen & one vehicle doesn’t survive the trip!
NEW Spring range from Snatch Clothing available at www.4wd247.com
We flood nearly EVERY 4WD crossing the Wenlock and Pascoe river, and give these old trucks a run for their money! It's pure bush survival, black soil country, crazy bush mechanics and beautiful campsites but Cape York is angrier than a cut snake!

Surstömming is herring that is preserved through fermentation. Thats is why the can looks like it going to explode. But you shude open it in a bucket with water. And you need to eat it with
potato, redonions, chive and sour cream on a hard thin bread with fine chop surstömming.
We learned our lesson the hard way
Yes and it’s delicious 🤤 here in the northern part of Sweden we are fighting for it at the stores right now. It has been a rough year for the fishermen 😕
@@jimmynilsson2988 it's a real battle my dude.
Here in DK, the amount of fish allowed to take home, has been regulated drastically. Even angling is heavily regulated now. And not to mention the pfas in the shores and coast. It sucks.. 😑
No thanks
Soft 😜
Reubens laugh when Graham was taking on water was the funniest thing ever!!
It was so funny I had to rewind and watch it again!
Was hilarious!
He's everyones dad hahaha
Reuben pulling through once again.. damn that Y62 is a BEAST! 😍
Absolute monster 😈
Best sounding rig!
I'm not a big fan of that rig. But my God was that a good drive pulling up out of that bog hole. Amazing!
Sounds so good
@@Sethjxl yea he did an amazing job!
Ruben needs a custom plate on the back, "Attach Toyota's Here"!
What about Shauno's??? "Attach Nissan Here" 🤣
Surströmming is a specialty from Norrland, which arose when the Hanseatic League stopped its sale of salt to Sweden in the Middle Ages due to the unresolved conflicts with Gustav Vasa.
The subsequent salt shortage led people to preserve the strömming "or Baltic herring" by fermenting it instead of putting it in salt. During the fermentation, acetic acid, lactic acid and butyric acid are formed, which lower the pH value and thus extend the shelf life of the fish.
On the other hand, it is considered among the world's smelliest dishes.
🤢
Was looking for this comment, thanks for taking the time to explain.
Interesting history lesson. Thanks!
Worth a pin!
It’s that butyric acid that stinks of vomit.
*Omg NO WAY its here, need this on this boring as Thursday night, thanks camera men for all the editing absolute legends* love from New Zealand, that camper trailer will never smell the same again 😂😂
We'll never forget this trip! epic
@@dirtymuddyweekends Did the smell stick? Obviously not the camper trailers fault, but just curious...
When he opened the can omg I can't stop laughing so hard absolutely the best thing i have seen in ages ...well done camera crew props...🤣 😂
it even beats the rotten eggs
Wat hapen
14:20 best part ever
Nice hiss. Bit of botulism never hurt anyone.
I tried it too. I just smelled it and i started puking 😂 its smells so so damn bad its not normal
Best gift from the camera crew ever. Never laughed so hard
Mindlessly scrolling youtube looking for something decent to watch while rockin my little girl to sleep...hit the refresh button and boom! 4wd 24-7 to the rescue! Been waiting for this. Cheers guys!
I Feel you on putting my son to sleep. Love these vids
That cooking segment was hilarious, all over Reuben and Bailey ran into the camper trailer trying to get away🤣 great episode, been waiting for it.
Times are Hard.. lost everything I owned except My 80...... Hoping She will stay rolling until I'm able to give Her Some love....You Guys are Great....Brings Me some Joy during these Times.....stay safe n God Bless from Pennsylvania U.S.A
Jesse is a good bloke. Glad he is joining the team.
That prank by the camera crew was hilarious - Grahams reaction & every1 else - the best laugh ive had in a long time - Thanks 4wd247.
Got to prank the boys every so often 😅
Omg, watching Reuben go through that water stretch that had both the golden oldies trucks stuck near the end, had m on the edge of my seat cheering him on to get through like I was watching an NRL game... absolute gold! 🏆
Think you guys owe me a laptop! As a Swede seeing that tin of Surströmming make an appearance I laughed so hard I had beer coming out of my nose! Knew what was coming, that smell isn't to be trifled with!
How do you even manage to get passed the smell to eat that? It can’t taste any better than it smells!
@@outdoorfrenzy open the can in a bucket full off water (to stop the scent and spray), doesnt taste the same as it smells!
@@outdoorfrenzy Limburg cheese is pretty stinky too,
but the taste is great!
Another epic adventure! Reuben's rig is an absolute off-road freight train!
Been waiting for this since longer then the time since my nan was rootin
😂😂😂😂
Thats filthy
Was she good ride?
My man 😂
She still is mate, she goes hard mate, could suck the chrome off a tow ball..
Reuben following the old rigs is amazing. Mad respect!
You boys are the best ya make all other 4x4 shows look like beginner's
That Y62 is nothing short of unreal good. what an absolute weapon!
its a beast beats a 200 for sure
That was one of the best episodes I've seen. Graham's G60 taking on water through the vents, the Farm Truck in deep water to the cooking. Great video. And the DMW Nissan is a weapon. Keep it up.
I love the fact that you can tell Sahuno had a few before the coming segment. Love it.
My wife and I were crying with laughter at the Slow motion replay of the boys opening the can. Classic boys 😂😂
Rotten fish I'm guessing
Hands down the best Cape episode ever. Pretty epic seeing the oldest of the Nissan beside the newest of the Nissan's.
I would love to see the farm truck v 300 series and the g60 v y62 in an episode together. Ultimate old v new.
Or a Cape trip with all old rigs in the convoy.
OMG so funny with the tin and the can opener and the boys trying not to throw up. But the funniest is when it’s slowed down and Graham sounds like a Wookiee. 😂😂😂
now this is what ive missed with you guys REAL 4wd content not the usual crap we get i enjoyed this so much i have watched it 3 times already keep this stuff going guys
Reuben you absolute blimmin legend! What an epic video. This is top quality stuff. Production quality better than amazons lord of the rings!
Thanks mate!
It was so funny when they opened the caan lol 😂 good job camera people
I loved every minute of this episode, brilliant stuff to watch. Amazing how far these old trucks get in the mud and water.
Thanks
What an epic adventure! Definitely a dirty muddy weekend!
Brilliant trip guys!
The Nissan vs Toyota is always fun
But the 40 series are bloody tough vehicles and tough on body’s too !
Both had lousey brakes from new!
I remember driving a troopy off cape York back in the early 80’s with no brakes down the Tele track …
No bypass track in those days …
Brings back great memories!
Thanks guys
Keep em coming !
Always a good day when we get a 4x4-24/7 video 🍻
Edit* seen sooty mk2 on a tow truck yesterday near Southport, WHAT A RIG!!
ooh awsome man
When the water is over the hood and up to the windshield? Your now boating! 😉👍🏻😂😂😂
As a Swede, I laughed so hard at this! Surströmming is a tradition that (some) Swedes eat around the third thursday in August but also I have seen Swedes eat it around Swedish Midsummer. Cheers from Sweden!
Reuben is the kind of friend that just never lets u down.never gives up.
I grew up in my youngest days riding in a Toyota Landcruiser off road in the desert of Arizona. Really fun to see the old farm trucks doing this stuff.
🙌🙌
The trip when it started to snow was my fav, "Imagery was amazing" But this tops it for the crack up factor.
im really impressed with how well the old trucks performed with that all little mods. 🔥
Reubens laugh and driving skills made my day.
You guys are incredible off roads drivers and knowledgeable mechanics.
I absolutely love these guys, their laughter and positivity are contagious!
Friggin heck, that slo-mo work and sound around the cooking segment is ALL TIME 😂
I've watched this 4 times from start to finish, reuben is a god, so is the rig
🙌🙌 And you favourite part was?
Guys you keep coming up with great content it’s so good to see keep you the great work
Fantastic video as usual, guys! Graham's river width estimation skills made me laugh really hard.
As a Swede i can proudly say that Surströmmning is a fermented Herring!
Sounds disgusting hahahaha
Someone told me, you normally open the can underwater and clean off the fish. Is that right?
After watching the two old rigs having water issues with that big crossing (~36 min) it was astonishing seeing Ruben getting through. Massive respect and quality driving, especially from him, especially with only three tyres.
Kinda shows some of the limitations of a very long serpentine belt. Toyota has done ‘belts’ in lots of different ways but earlier generations (like mine) had the crank driving WP and AL only using twin belts. The PS was on a separate belt and the AC was the only one with IP (2 in my case). I think this was better. Thoughts?
Gorgeous scenery ~50 min.
T v N, it really doesn’t matter. So childish!
Would like to see more of the camera car and guys.
Hell yeah boys! Been waiting on the edge of my seat for this! Thanks for another great episode! 🤙🏼
Best episode so far! I wish with all of my heart that I one day can take part of this. Looks like so much fun! Great show!
The smile on my face when that idler pulley just fit right on the 80. Pure happiness.
Excellent episode guys, loved it all. Some great wheeling in there also from Jessie and Reuben. Go the Nissans especially that Y62 it’s awesome.
Keep up the great work guys and look forward to the next one. Cheers 🍻
Graham on the tune at bramwell station!!
Great episode boys, thanks for providing great content!
What’s with graham and his alternators?! 😂 allergic to electricity in every 2nd vehicle he drives that man I swear 😆
What I'm really impressed with is how the solar panels kept Graham's battery alive on the night drive back.
Love this one boys! You all had my son and I laughing to tears! Hope you make it to the US soon!
those idler pulleys run a very common sized bearing and not to hard to knock out and swap if need be .... cheap spare to throw in the kit
Hahaha one of the best episodes! LOL got a crack out of the can scene and Shauno saying "help!" 35:46
Absolutely epic show of mayhem, laughs and awesome footage, well done guys
Did that track around the same time (in the other direction). We crossed the Pascoe's, it was quite scary and we nearly turned around. Don't blame you turning back in the old trucks.
6:52, did Graham get his revenge after last time! 😂
Another excellent trip guys, all of you looked like you can have fun while taking on the Frenchman’s track,👏👏😀😀
been waiting for this second episode! Great one lads 👍
Enjoy mate
This is one of the best shows on TH-cam. You blokes are absolute legends! Love this show.
That was an absolute RIPPER episode!! THANK YOU LEGENDS!!!
absolutely lost it with the can of fermented fish. I was in the middle of eggs and potatoes and just about shot it across the table.
Also, for some reason on this video...Graham's voice during the monologues was just amazing. I felt like I could listen to it for hours as he waxes poetic talking about the flora and fauna of Australia's outback.
To think the g60 was in tassie now on the Frenchman track what a weapon 👌🏼
cant remember the last time I just sat and watched a 70 minute feature like this one. What a great adventure :)
Swede here! I was screaming WATCH OUT! when Shauno opened it and I almost barfed remembering the horrid smell. You are not supposed to eat it directly from the can though. only the oldtimers ate sur strömming and it is only like 15 to 25 % of the swedish population that actually eats that dreadful thing.
This isn't the first time I've seen this but what exactly is it?
@@daveharvey5764 fermented herring i believe
@@pete4334 oh that sounds… uh no, just no lol
@@daveharvey5764 it is canned fermented herring.
That was funny ..my stomach hurts from laughing so hard.. hats off to Reuben.. he isn't afraid to put the power down . Cheers from Texas.
Nissans will always get you home, haven’t even watched the vid yet 🍿
Why Nissan lovers insecure ?
No one is talking about a competition here.
@@Mk-41 prado checking in
I am pure addicted to your shows lads! From Ireland 🇮🇪
Imagine your 4wd breaking down and the only driver left to tow you out is Reuben. 😅😅
Hope your tickers is all good
Reckon mad man
"I was just potting along following old Seamus Wale here and he popped up gone left and cooked it" Best thing I've ever heard, great going Graham
Looks like a good time for Shauno and Graham to invest in a new set of brakes for the old girls
Just finished fixing tyres on my y62 patrol, and then Turned this on, love the shows mate
Just imagine breaking these tracks for the first time, early LandRovers, Toyota's etc, no winch, no difflocks. Tough going.
I always think it’s awesome that no matter where you guys go, bailey is always towing the camper. I would love one of those
Just a question about Graham, will he still do some of the trips you guys do or he'll only do the spin off show?
Graham has done heaps of trips. I think him & Shawn are the originals .
@@markryan5493 I believe he was asking if Graham would continue doing trips with Sean and the others now that he has his own spin-off overlanding show.
Alreet Legends
On the New Crew Member video Brennan Cupid ask a similar question.
4WD 24-7 replied "Hey mate, he's not going anywhere, just making a few eps on his own".
I'm too stupid electrickery wise to link? the comment.
Ruben drives like an American! Right on man! Love seeing you guys get down and using the skinny pedal
And who says petrol 4wds are useless in the water…that g60 is unreal.
Possibly the best yet, my belly aches with laughter!
Many thanks lads 👏👏👏
Should of took the ranger bailey 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Frenchmans track... Did it in 2000, in my old 93 Hilux, towing a camper trailer I made out of a Hilux, (I called it the Hilux and a half), with my 2 sons, at the time in their early teens. Travelled on our own. The Pasco was the most challenging river, not as deep as you guys found it this year, but still running fast at a meter deep. We did it from east to west. This year, in my 2002 Hilux, towing a Cameron Camper tailer, we did Cape York again. No problems, even stretches of bitumen!
Just as well you found a nissan part to fix the toyota, or it might be still there, lol. Doesn't matter what the 4x4 is as long as you're out there using it.
That was a bloody entertaining video, thanks boys 💪
Love the content guys keep making wicked vids
Awesome video mate,
Opening that can of Surstömming was Barmy.
You guys are always fun to watch. 😎👍
Your adventures are great.✌
I would of just left baileys 80 there why people do a v8 conversion is beyond me, classic reason right there why you wouldn't 😝🤦♂️🤦♂️
V8 conversions are fine if done properly, but you probably shouldn't go straight on to the OTT and Frenchmans on an untested conversion. Maybe do a few local trips to deal with the gremlins first.
thanks guys, I just had a shit day and after escaping reality with yous for an hour and 10 I feel a lot better.
help me out here boys, I never can understand why blokes take out one of the best and most reliable engines ever made and put in LS systems ? like its beyond questionable
More power, more noise. I have a ls2 gu patrol and it's the best rig I've owned, just cannot cut corners or waste any expense or shit goes bad
Because he wanted to. Worry about your own car mate. He doesn’t care about your opinions
@@mikebright3577 hahaha calm down champion
Was probably a petty mate
Shawno - 'HELP'! That was awesome! Deep ditch boys!
My favourite videos of yours. More of the old trucks please.
The g60 is the by far the best rig to ever appear on the channel. What a beautiful machine.
nice video on a rainy thursday afternoon here in central queensland i almost through up my self when Shuano opened up what ever the hell that tinned fish stuff was.
I did that track back in 2002. Not much has changed at the Pascoe crossing, it looks just the same apart from the extra water over it. Its a shame you guys couldnt get across into the Iron range national park, its stunning.
Absolutely beautiful episode, this guys make me happy like nothing else traveling Australia, outback territory.
gotta say boys, love the video but Graham's narrating makes these videos so great. Really loved it lads
What I like in a 79 series is the spot the speakers are in. When you get water in the car, the speakers aren’t dead
The end of the spot after changing the trailer over and revine Ruben getting through the hole was awesome
Knowing what Surstromming is, made me know the next clip was going to be great. Love it.
