Thanks 😁 some of the pre built controllers are so expensive. It's so much cheaper to do it yourself, plus if it ever broke you have a good idea how to check inside and see if you can fix anything yourself or just put the pad back standard
This explainer was even better than the ExtremeRate tutorial lol. I literally sat there for about 20 minutes trying to figure out why the trigger wouldn’t line up for the metal rod before your video said simply insert under he hooked piece. Perfect and even start to finish instead of leaving hanging after merry taking the thing apart.
A few people have said that 😄 I'm guessing it's just because they don't always add commentary! I've actually done commentary for a few of their more recent videos. Always nice to hear when somebody manages to fit the triggers. Hope you enjoy them, they're my go to for playing on CoD
@@CraigsChannelmake sure you figure out which board you have to order the correct parts. The BDM-10 & BDM-20 boards are basically the same. The BDM-30 board is a little harder to work on and the parts don’t interchange with that board.
Extremerate instructions explains cog part of the installation differently. It seems the way they installed it prevents the gear to move freely. That’s how I installed it and no issues.
As long as you get the plastic bit on the very last tooth your good. I've only had a couple of people miss a tooth, but was an easy fix. Dunno if you seen but on their video they cut the power to the haptric/vibration motor, I didn’t do that, I'd rather just turn them off in the settings
Edit: at 8:06 I ripped the ribbon. He mentions this ribbon again at about 20.40. If you rip this one, you don't care anyways since it's for the controller mic which you're not using anyways. Advice for people trying this out: IF USING TWEEZERS, BE DELICATE.
Thanks, your video was perfect!By following this I did this easy in 30min. Indeed i needed to sand the bits for in de r2 buttons a little bit down. But after that it was perfect. 👍🏻 anyone can do this aslong as they can follow your instructions🎉
pretty straightforward really, did these today after doing the rise 4 using your video, only thing that messed up was the cog on the r2 trigger unit wasn't on the wheel so id to take it to bits because the teeth werent on, so it was making funny noises so just beware guys that theyre aligned, good things the weapon changes are faster but feels weird, will take some getting used to...
@@CraigsChannel yeah had that off ages it did my head in anyway, it works now, it was that the cog thing wasn't aligned on the trigger unit, when I put the wheel back in on reassembly I mustn't have been looking. Great video though, although on the kits the bits you slide into the r2 and l2 buttons aren't very well made in my opinion and seemed to slide too far in, managed to get it all working but the L2 button doesn't click quite the same as the r2 one, considering having just the r1/r2 unit in anyway, feels weird the L2 side
@@berserker_2886 yeah I know what you mean, it's an easy mistake with the way the cogs are but good news to hear you've fixed it with ease. I agree the haptic triggers do your head in, I've only heard a hand full of people who actually like them. Which triggers did you get the normally clicky or the tactile ones? Maybe the plastic bits you put in L2 have a bit sticking out, I had that issue and had to file it down a little, guessing it was just mold they were made in
@@CraigsChannel got the tactile ones, they work alright its just the L2 one is a fraction less clicky than the R2, ive had it apart twice trying to see if I can make it better but just settled and accepted it, probably not noticeable to anyone else, and the insert thing actually felt like it was too small rather than too big like I had to try a couple different ones because when I was pressing the back button it felt like it had the same range of movement as the normal ones at first
I tried this last night and messed up the spring on the trigger I have to order more and then I can retry it with that piece from the video but from there Amazon strife front it says it’s not compatible with the spring type triggers but you probably needed some Jerry rigging but who knows
The mouse click board itself, the r2 works fine it clicks, but the r1 doesnt click at all no matter how I press it? It jus doesnt work, how do i fix it?
Thanks man, I'd have helped out extra if you needed it. Normally the only thing people mess up is putting the cogs on the wrong notch, but only had a handful of people do that. Just make sure you turn off the haptic feedback on your controller settings
Gracias great video 📹 I did my first starlight blue clicky triggers, rise 4.0 with removable joysticks all from extremerate and of course your tutorial. 😊
Always nice to hear peoples feedback and their thoughts, most people just follow the install and that's it 😄 I like to hear if the install went smooth and how the kits doing
actually you don't have to look at any of the numbers you just point out there's a Serial number on every controller and the first number in the serial shows the controller revision you can also get the serial by scanning the qr code on the back of the controller
Yeah this is a really old video now. You also check my pressing L2 or R2 and looking inside, since this video they've released more and more versions. I've not came across a BDM-050 yet
Im confused, there are 3. The standard one the tactile one and the micro switch strong version. Which one is better? Do they all serve a convenience feature? Or are they all renewed version?
Personally I prefer the tactile version. The micro I feel are very hard, you can get two different versions but still it's the tac for me. Just make sure you turn off haptic feedback on your controller settings
Hi Craig, at 7:36 that ribbon has just come apart with such little force, so its now in half. I cant work out what it does but controller seems to be working fine still. Unfortuantely I had to give up at 9:23 because despite all screws being taken out, I could lift it away. It was getting stuck at the top right and left as you look at it from your angle. Any ideas why?
As far as I'm aware that little ribbon is for the built in mic, I wouldn't worry about that if you use a headset. As for your pad not coming apart you've got a 010 haven't you? You'll have to follow my other video as you'll have two extra screws holding the board in place th-cam.com/video/IuojRdZ8Ujk/w-d-xo.html
@@CraigsChannel Woops, almost just yanked it off with anger. Question. Should I also instal the RISE V2 at the same time as the triggers or do one, close it up and go again? Thanks for the help with the 010 video. Didnt see it!
I obviously missed that message. If anybody is reading this a year later, do each mod one at a time... reason I say this is if you do them both together and its not working you can pin point which ones the issue. I usually install the Clicky, put everything back together, test it, then install the back buttons. P.s since this video they've added a BDM-030 and 040
Hey Craig, love your video's, great attention to detail. I have purchased digital buttons / triggers and rise 4 to install soon and I'd just like to know if you recommend an order to install them?
I'd do the triggers first, then while you've got the ribbons off fit the kit. So it's just two extra screws to remove the board. Unless you have a 010 and there's an extra 2 to remove. I did a video a while ago install both triggers and back buttons but was the 010 pad
Keep me undated on your install, always nice to hear when people have fitted a kit. Some people won't even attempt it, so high five to anybody who does 😄
If you're used to doing small little tech jobs this you'll be able to do with your eyes closed lol. The hardest thing I've ever had to do on a controller was the back button kit for the Xbox Series controller, absolute nightmare as you've got about 28 points to solder, if people don't know how to solder I'd just say keep away it's not worth the risk
Do you know if they’re making a bdm-30 version on these ? Because I can’t find any bdm-10s or 20s and I broke my controller that had my paddles and the digital triggers 😕
Yeah them potentiometer or what ever they're called are a right in the ass to remove unless you've got a good heat gun, not the big ones like a hair dryer the small ones. Have you tried cleaning inside the potentiometer? I'm actually just about to clean mine on my pink pad as it's just slight drift
😄 what are the chances! Did you fit it to a 010 or 020? I came into a bit difficulties with the 020 and had to scrap a bit off the plastics bits to get it working
@@CraigsChannel a purple 020, however I didn't have the problems that you seem to have faced here with having to file bits off! Where they not clicking?
Hello Craig, question please. I installed backbuttons thanks to your video and now after a year iam upgrading again to clicky triggers. will tehre be a way to have both in one controller? because tbh i dont remember how hard was the backbuttons and if there is not something glued lol bcs i remember something went on battery etc. Probably will have to dissassemble with backbutoon tutorial adn then add clicky triggers right
1. What would be the most efficient way to install both this and the rise 4.0? Should I do this first or the rise? 2. Could I just ignore the r2/l2 click since it looks a little tedious and simply make the r1/l1 click since it’s straightforward and doesn’t need full disassembly? The r1/l1 is all I need I feel as it’s what I use to shoot/aim
Just replied to your other message there. As for this one I'd say fit the digital triggers first then the back buttons, the digital triggers are a little fiddley
i feel like if i try this im gonna break my controller and i dont want it to break and also i really want to do it so what do i do i want help because im scared of breaking my controller😢
You shouldn't break your controller, as long as you take your time and have faith in yourself. Also double check with model pad you have as there's 3 different versions now
The tactile ones are like mouse clicks. They've got a few new versions out now, for the BDM-030 and 040, just double check which version your controller is
Hey bro. Great video. I'm looking for someone I can pay that can install digital triggers on my edge controller. Can you do this? I do not care about the triggers stops/locks
@@CraigsChannel The opposite, so l1 and r1 would be digital but l2 and r2 would stay the same. Just seems a waste to basically remove the haptics, plus ive never been a fan of trigger stops etc, which this basically does.
Oh I get you, see I've been using this digital triggers for a few years now, I even had them on the PS4 so it's kind of just what I'm used to. For FPS games they work really well. As for the haptic I couldn't get away with it, I turned it off, think most of my friends did as well but I know a couple seemed to enjoy it.
@@CraigsChannel I agree, so far the only game to really make good use of the haptics is astros playroom, but id still like to keep the use of them just incase. You never know, the new god of war could use it very effectively for example.
At this point I wonder why the gaming industry has made analog triggers a standard. They add immersion to games but in most cases, actual gamers prefer a simple digital button.
For racing games you need the full motion triggers, but shooting games like CoD digital are awesome. I've a few pads, couple are modded and others are standard
I was going to then thought to myself do I really need to! With these ones being perfect, I'm not sure if the other triggers are going to be much of a difference. Have you any clikcy fitted at the moment?
@@CraigsChannel thanks for the reply, yes I do already have the first version but I've ordered the new version for another ps5 controller, my problem is I've watched extremerates video and there's no talking you through it and you do it so well, so I thought I'd ask the question. Also I had to order from US as couldn't buy them in UK.
I did used to do the videos for them, but they haven't asked me for a while, they just send me kits out and ask if I want to upload them to my channel now. They're a Chinese company so might not speak the best of English and just leave the music. Like you say it's much easier when your shown and talked through. The tactile Clickys are really good though, I've zero complaints
They've got a few digital triggers now, the tac are my favourite but you'll have to make sure you get the right ones for your model as there's 4 different ones now
@@CraigsChannel Thank you Craig, now you see how I can be so confused. I have zero idea LOL outside of wanting mouse click triggers. Appreciate your response
If you only really play FPS games like CoD the digital triggers are amazing. But if you play a mixture of games, make sure you have a spare pad for say racing games or fifa
@@CraigsChannel Only play COD and have the Aim controller with the digital triggers which are amazing. But I don't like the paddles and want to try doing my own remote with the paddles from eXtreme and the digital triggers. I see a Leicht-Druck Version but even more confused
Hi, i'm stuck i don't know why my R2 is not the same of you inside. The little part of plastic can't fit isinde my R2 i don't know why .. My BDM is 010, but they sell it for 010 and 020. Can you help me?
Sorry I didn't even see this. I've got videos on both together but don't think I've got one for triggers after back buttons. I always recommend triggers first as it can be tricky to open the board and remove everything. Did you try yet?
Yeah it can be a pain, you're super skilled though to have pulled it off. You get a high five from me 🤚 I always say to people do the triggers then the back buttons. Hope you have fun with them
@@CraigsChannel I wish ps5 controllers were more reliable not to drift, I have the back paddles and just had to take them out to send my controller back to Sony, less than a year and it’s already drifting😭😂
Tactile ones just feel much better, the normal ones as people will probably mention just don't seem very Clicky at all. I came into a little issue with these, I've left it in the video so it'll help anybody else fitting them, but think I was just sent out a faulty modling of the plastics as it was constantly pressing the button
The best way to check now which version you have is by looking at the L2 or R2, you can see the insides to see if it's a 010 020 or 030. Infact if I remember I'll make a new video tomorrow on them since I've not uploaded in months
Love your videos, thanks! When fitting the triggers and Rise 2.0, is 21:18 on this video the point where we should swap to your "eXtremerate RISE 2.0 PS5 Back Button Kit" video and continue from 6:45 onward?
The way I always tell people is do the triggers first then make sure everything's working. Then fit the back button kit. You could do a 2 in 1, but if something isn't working you won't know if it's the triggers or back button kit
@@CraigsChannel I took your advice and did stage one yesterday (tactile triggers). Rise 2.0 will be later today. Ironically I had the same "A Few Moments Later" as you with my left trigger and that trigger is a little less clicky (but still works fine). Fortnite was like night and day playing with the pad last night.
😄 yeah the few moments later sucked for me, luckily I filled the plastic down a little and was fine. Have you turned off haptic feedback in your controller settings?
I will be soon, I wasn't going to as I didn't think people would be to bothered with them but have been askedns few times now. I'm just waiting on my custom controller to arrive that'll probably be my next video
I know how to solder but I'm not a huge fan, its so much nicer when kits come with the option. These triggers are really easy to install IF you have a BDM-010 or 020... The newer version BDM-030 and 040 is a little more fiddly
Just don't your gonna play fighting games with the D pad because you will get tendonitis or Arthritis before you know it, because the dpad takes more pressure. For fps or if u are using the control stick it's fine
When I did this video the 30 wasn't even a thing, I'm still lost as to why Sony have brought out 3 different versions! Unfortunately extremerate haven't released a kit for the 30 yet, you don't happen to have another controller do you? P.s you can now check your version my pressing the L2 or R2, extremerate put a picture up showing the differences
@@CraigsChannel Hi Craig I haven’t as of yet I have just been in contact with Extremerate and they said they will be making the triggers for the BDM-30 controllers, however they didn’t give me any timeframe for it.
@@CraigsChannel when I was looking at the back of the controller I got the small A inscribed and the letter A shows after the letters on the serial number. Again i was surprised to see it was the newer version as the springs can be seen when depressing the triggers
Yeah that's how you know it's the new version press R2 and you'll see the spring. You must have just bought your PS5 as the 30 hasn't been out for long at all. They told me the same thing no time frame for the triggers. Your only other option would be to buy another pad from the shop in hope it's a 20, plus you'll always have a spare in case one breaks... they're prone for stick drift unfortunately
My r2 isn’t working and when I try to play a game like overwatch it just keeps shooting my primary when I’m not even pressing it and now it’s just straight up not working
No they'll no longer work, the whole point of the haptic is to feel the full motion of pressing L2 or R2, but with this you'll only press it very little. I'd recommend having two controllers, one modded and one standard 👍
Hi Craig please can you share an insight on the difference between rise 2.0 A and rise 2.0 B ? I can only find B for the pink version should I avoid B?
I've actually done commentary for 2 of their 030 videos but they've not yet uploaded them, not sure if it's due to them waiting on stock of the 030 or what!
Hey boss! Have you seen the new Extremerate micro-switch kit? Finally they do proper omron mouse clicks with 2 different strengths. Also have your found any modular sticks for increased tension? Cheers!
Hey man 👍 yeah I spotted the newer micro switches when they uploaded the video, I've not yet tried them as I'm still using my tactile clicky kit. As for tension sticks I've only seen them on Xbox elite controllers, I know JGod a youtuber mentioned you can get these little rubber rings what go over your existing sticks and give you some extra tension so you can have a higher sensitivity in games like CoD without loosing your accuracy
@@CraigsChannel hey! Yeah you can actually buy a whole module with a more resistant spring in it and with some soldering here and there you got it. Been using the Elite Series 2 but the only drawback is the no clicky triggers and higher input lag compared to DS5 which you can overclock.
Send me a link to these tension things, I'll have a look. I know extremerate do digital triggers for the Xbox, you could buy them and fit them yourself. My PSN or CoD ID?
The new slim is either the BDM-030 or 040, a friend bought one the other day and wanted me to transfer his 020 kit but told him they don't fit You can tell which version my pressing L2 or R2 and looking inside
My controller broke during this video because their was a extra wire and it broke so my controller was unusable now the video is great but my controller was different and all of extremerates products are amazing
The things to stop drift? Yeah they emailed me the other day about them along with some new LED kit. I've not made any videos for a while, been a little busy working
Did you see Sony is releasing a new pad with removable thumb sticks? That's an amazing idea, but and a bit but, I wonder how much they'll be charging for them?
Thanks appreciate the kind words. I got told a couple of days ago for the first time ever I go to fast, I was quite shocked as I thought I took my time 😄
Unfortunately not, the way the kit is both buttons are together and not separate. I've a couple of pads, one totally stock, one with back buttons and one with back buttons and triggers
No not yet, they said they'll be bring them out soon, maybe they haven't quite worked out how to or maybe they're just making stock, hopefully they'll be out soon!
I'm really not sure on that one, if you look on a video and zoom in to see if they look a similar fit. My friend lives in the US, he tried the Tomsin stuff and likes it all, maybe all the manufacturers use a similar mold
Thank you for coming to the channel. You'll have to let me know if they fit or not! There's a good chance they will, but you'd only know by testing. I'm still in two minds if I should buy the Edge, or if its a waste of money
@@CraigsChannel I feel that brotha I want to buy the Edge as well tbh but also don’t know if it’s worth it tbh but I think after a lot of research it’s worth it cause you can swap the sticks after stick drift and you get adjustable triggers and the 2 back paddles only reason I haven’t got it yet is because the 2 back paddles tbh I kinda want 4
@@CraigsChannel and I also tried to put the clicky triggers on but wasted good time because I had the wrong controller even tho I thought it was a 020 it was a 030 smh but I did have a 020 to try it on after a long struggle I got the triggers on but now the L2 and L1 don’t work I’m not too sure why some folks say to try the old ribbon cables for the triggers instead of the one that comes in the kit, and I didn’t get to try the tomsin paddles since I struggled so much with the triggers smh 🤦🏾♂️ I’ll try again on Saturday as that is my other day off I wasted my day off today lol but I just look at it as a lesson learned trial and error 💯
Yeah I love the pink, I'm after the galaxy purple one but it was out of stock last time I tried to buy. As for these I wouldn't say their complicated, just a little fiddly, same with the back buttons. If you take your time you shouldn't have an issue
I always tell people to fit the triggers first, make sure they're all working, then fit the back button kit. If you do both together and it doesn't work, you won't be to easily pin point the problem like you could if you did them one at a time
Hi @Craig, new to the channel and new subscriber. You came recommended from Reddit. I'm looking at the remap kit plus also the trigger kit. Which kit should I buy if I have the Controller that ends in ZCT1W? There no A after it. Many thanks.
I've never used Reddit before, I know a friend uses it, it's like a forum thing isn't it? It there a topic on back buttons? Have you used back buttons before? If so did you have 2 or 4 buttons? Personally I prefer just 2 buttons, 4 just seems to many to me but maybe somebody with bigger hands would benefit more! Digital triggers I'd always recommend the tactile clicky. As for your pad it sounds like you've got a 010, the good things with all the kits now is there compatible with both models 010 and 020
@@CraigsChannel Hi Craig, it appears when I post a Reddit link my reply here gets removed. Anyway yes you were mentioned there a few times. Two back buttons is enough for me. Which version should I buy? Seems theres 3/4 different types. Help me! :) Thanks again
TH-cam always delete comments randomly on my channel, I've had a couple of people thinking it's me removing them, but they realised it was YT. The way you can usually tell is if you post a comment and check back 30 seconds later it's gone... I'm fast at checking messages but not that fast 😄 What games do you play? If its CoD or another FPS game I'd say just stick with 2 buttons, but if you play role playing game like that Eldor Scroll or what ever it's called, people said the more buttons the better! And if its CoD you play Digital triggers are also a really good mod to do along with the back buttons
th-cam.com/video/NdH9o9mi0HU/w-d-xo.html That 2 button kit with the grippy, grip is my favourite and seems the most popular. 4 buttons might just be overkill and you might be like me and never use them
On my bdm 010, my left trigger doesn't register when I click it, but when I click it harder it does. It clicks but doesn't register with a normal press. My right trigger works fine
Galaxy gear S3 frontier… nice Can you answer me why “pro” controllers exist when these mods exist? Are Pro controllers any better? Do they have some sort of advantage? Because as far as I’m aware once you have a RISE4 and this Tactical Trigger kit, I don’t see a difference.
I'm due a new smart watch and phone. My friends been after a smart watch for ages so might give him this, it's served me well 😁 As for Pro controllers you mean like the new Dualsense edge? Nah if you fit the extremerate mods, you just save yourself a hell of a lot of money plus you get to learn how the inside of the controller works. I really don't want to give Sony £210 for that controller but I was going to buy it for the channel and compare
Great vid as always, how do you fix a stuck L1 button for the tactile triggers??? All the other buttons work fine, I can press L1 but there’s no movement it’s just stuck
Pop L1 out and see if you can press the little plastic bit you added further in, you sometimes have to use quite a bit of force to get it pressed right in
@@CraigsChannel it’s all the way down, I try a different L1 button and little round piece same thing. I’m about to transfer the kit on this controller to a fresh controller, I might re install the L1 kit as well
My other option was going to be to remove that little plastic piece and try another. It's weird how it's stuck, I've honestly never had anybody say that before, could it be the L1 buttons itself?
It's normally just a simple pop out and pop back in with the L1 and R1, not much can really go wrong, I'm not even sure if you can put them in wrong! So you're swapping the kit to another pad?
Hello, I can’t get those 4 little screws out that you need out in order to pull the cover off to remove the rod out so can pull off the R2/L2 buttons. They do not seem to be unscrewing at all, just spinning.
@@CraigsChannel The screw heads are in good shape (not stripped out) and are definitely turning just do not seem to be backing out. This is the only controller I have modded with the back-buttons. I may check another in the future.
Do you know a website where i can buy the battery and the main board ? im not sure if you can buy it, but i raged on my controller and the battery socket broke off the main board of the controller
Bro the extreme rate video they cut the cables and tape them to “avoid” some sound? Have u noticed this “sound”? I noticed u didn’t bother cutting/taping them
The sound is the haptic feedback, people forget to turn it off when fitting these. To be honest I turned mine off from day one, I really wasn't a fan, if you're going to start cutting wires you'll void your warranty. I know it's technically void anyways once you open it, but... if you put it all back as standard how would they know 🤔😄
Please help. I've installed the triggers and now I'm trying to install back buttons. I open the board and put the black wire into the place. But now I can't seem to put my board back. It doesn't snap back in and is very lose
@@CraigsChannel yeah it was the green one but I managed to fix it and now its all working perfectly. You're videos are great and informative love them bro
Sorry I took a while to reply, I've just came out the cinema 😁 Glad to hear you fixed it, I didn't think it would be much of an issue, but always good to hear somebody fixed it themselves 👍 Thanks for the kind words
I just installed the Rise 2.0 metal and debating wether to do this tactile digital trigger... Does it permanently remove the adaptive trigger function or I can uninstall it and reverse back if i change my mind? Btw, i had Rise 2.0 plastic, metal andRise 4 and out of all 3, Rise 2.0 metal with grippy back is definitely the best
The kits are down to personal choice I guess, my favourite is always going to be the plastic, I don't hate the metal just so used to plastic buttons. As for the triggers, it won't permanently disable the haptic, it will while the kits installed but if you decide to remove it ever you'll be able to use the haptic again, you just can't use it while the kits installed
what do I do I already bought the tactical triggers but the l2 and r2 thingys are attached to the wiring that works the x o ect buttons plus the arrow buttons
Yeah I thought so! I have no idea why Sony keep changing the kits, it's so annoying. Only thing you can do is send the kit back or if you have another controller that's compatible
No problem at all. I've actually just got the newer version for my BDM-030 as my older BDM-020 had started to suffer a bit stick drift, so thought I might as well move on to the newer model
Are controller models changed or something? I got mine recently and once i opened it it didn’t seem to be similar to the previous ones. I’ve installed triggers on two of my controllers last year but the one i got recently was a bit different. Its a new Black bdm 020 controller. Could i still use the kits or i have to get an older version of a controller?
I just bought the clicky face button kit and the Rise 4 backpaddle kit just then, and already had mouse click triggers and bumpers in. Will everything work together?
Can someone tell me how this mod feels for a game like street fighter where you need to be precise with your diagonal direction ex doing dp,fb, tk motions. Is it too stiff ?
Whoops i thought this one was the face buttons video. I know ppl use this for fighting games but there are different games out there some like mortal Kombat that dont really use diagonals all that much if at all but im wondering if these are good for dp, fb motions like in games like street fighter. Also im wondering about the dpad button travel distance.
I really can't say as I only play FPS games. You could maybe check Extremerates video out on them and see what comments people have wrote. The digital triggers though work amazing on FPS games, like a nice mouse click. Sorry I couldn't help more with the fighting input
Yeah of course, that's my go to, I always use that combo I'd be lost without it. I'm sure I've got a video showing you how to install both, but... I would always recommend installing the triggers, make sure they work first, then fit the paddles
writing to you now because I was thinking if there was a mouse click version with only the Bumpers (L1 R1) so if I found it for you, if you would send it to me you would be doing me a favor
I've installed these successfully on 2 previous controllers....I'm doing a 3rd and for life if me once I get the plastic housing back on...it won't click anymore. When I apply small pressure up on the pin it works. As soon as that pressure is gone it stops working
I get more and more comments each day about these 030 controllers. I'm sick of Sony bringing a new model out all the time, it confuses everything for everybody 👎
@@CraigsChannel yup was exited for them paddles, mainly why I bought them but Sony made that edge so I think im gonna cop that in the future. Still a cool controller I have now tho
Do tactile switches have a bump feel to them? I recently tried the micro switches coming from the original clicky ones and have a hard time telling if I'm pressing the buttons or not. They have little to no feedback on the fingers. Are these tactile more similar to the original or to the micro switches?
@@CraigsChannel I got the light version and I'm thinking about going back to one of the clicky models. In your opinion, which model between clicky and clicky tactile gives the best feedback?
@@caterina4679 Tactile are my favourite, I've been using them around a year now. I did have the first clicky but they failed, the buttons aren't supposed to last forever and fail after 6-12months unfortunately
Sony have changed these controllers so much its ridiculous, there's a BDM-010, 020, 030 and 040. You can check my pressing L2 or R2 to see which version you've got, Extremerate have added photos to Amazon
I'm really not sure, I'd need to see inside the Edge to see which version controller they used. If it's a BDM 030 it won't be compatible. Extremerate said they'll be bringing mods for the Edge soon, it sucks how the Edge battery is 1050mah and the normal is 1500
@@CraigsChannel Hope to see some vids from you once the aftermarket parts start coming for the edge. Battery is the biggest drawback for a lot of people but it personally not an issue for me.
I'm not even sure what after market parts they'll be even making? Maybe different colour shells or that piece that snaps off so you can change the analog sticks
Yeah you'll just have to be careful you've enough room to move stuff about, just be careful and take your time. Also make sure you buy the right version and model of triggers
You make things simple for someone to achieve this without buying an expensive controller. Thanks!
Yup definitely getting this instead of buying a overpriced controller
Yeah Scuf and the new Sony are bloody expensive, you can make your own controller with back buttons and digital triggers for £55 or something
Just ordered it yesterday for my ps5 controller. Can’t wait thanks for the video!
@@CraigsChannelhelp bro. I’m doing mine now and the rod won’t come off. I’ve tried everything

@@CraigsChannelmake sure you figure out which board you have to order the correct parts. The BDM-10 & BDM-20 boards are basically the same. The BDM-30 board is a little harder to work on and the parts don’t interchange with that board.
THANK YOU!!!!
I found your videos to be easier than Extremerates videos. Really well-detailed video.
Thanks for the video man helps alot..
I got a scuf reflex PS5 controller and its BDM-020..cheers men!
Thanks, your video was perfect!By following this I did this easy in 30min. Indeed i needed to sand the bits for in de r2 buttons a little bit down. But after that it was perfect. 👍🏻 anyone can do this aslong as they can follow your instructions🎉
They've got a newer kit out now, does the same job just it's for the newer version/model controller. Guessing you had a BDM-010 or 020
does this work for bdm-030? thx 🙏🏼 and great video 👍🏼
Thank you so much I didn’t understand the tutorial on extreme rates page
No problem at all, glad I could help 😁 some of these tutorials look harder than they are and can get a bit confusing
pretty straightforward really, did these today after doing the rise 4 using your video, only thing that messed up was the cog on the r2 trigger unit wasn't on the wheel so id to take it to bits because the teeth werent on, so it was making funny noises so just beware guys that theyre aligned, good things the weapon changes are faster but feels weird, will take some getting used to...
Have you also turned off the haptic feedback in your playstation settings?
Great vid bro ! Best one out there , all the other vids by other people didn’t help me out
Thanks man, I'd have helped out extra if you needed it.
How you finding the removable sticks?
@@CraigsChannel easy install and good grips so far.
My controller doesn't have the screws in the front to remove the triggers I'm confused
Hi sorry for the late reply, just seen both your messages. Did you manage to fix it?
You could add clicky buttons, clicky bumper triggers , 4 back buttons/ and changeable thumb grips for 150 dollars less then scuf with extremerate.
Thank you so much you just help me soooo much you don’t understand
Please make an installation video for installing hall hall effect triggers on a PS5 Controller THAT WOULD BE LEGENDARY THANK YOU!
Just make sure you turn off haptic feedback on your controller settings
just ordered the rise 4 kit and now i think i might have to order this too lol. gonna see how the rise 4 install goes first
If its CoD you play you'll love the combo of back buttons and digital triggers 😎
You'll have to follow my other video as you'll have two extra screws holding the board in place

@@JohnnyBoy4how’d it go?
I obviously missed that message. If anybody is reading this a year later, do each mod one at a time... reason I say this is if you do them both together and its not working you can pin point which ones the issue.
I usually install the Clicky, put everything back together, test it, then install the back buttons.
P.s since this video they've added a BDM-030 and 040
at 13:00 thank you, i disassembled my controller then assemble and my adaptive trigger not working, because i did not put the cog right.
If you're fitting digital triggers you should disable the adaptive triggers 👍
If you cancel the trigger travel, how will the adaptive trigger function work? Use your brain.
@@CraigsChannel will do, cheers mate!
Keep me undated on your install, always nice to hear when people have fitted a kit. Some people won't even attempt it, so high five to anybody who does 😄
@@CraigsChannel I'm an Electronic Tech by trade so I'd hope I can install it haha. Will do mate, supposed to arrive here tonight 👍
Is it easy enough to install these if you've already got the Rise 4 kit installed on the controller mate?
Do you know if they’re making a bdm-30 version on these ? Because I can’t find any bdm-10s or 20s and I broke my controller that had my paddles and the digital triggers 😕
You broke it? What happened? It might be an easy fix
Holy shit, just doing this as you uploaded and was looking on your channel because the model has changed! Luckily I winged it and done it right! Haha
They were constantly engaged, I really think it was a molding issue, but I managed to fix it within a few minutes.
Did you get the Tactile ones?
@@CraigsChannel yeah I got the tactile, the same ones as you have here!
Guess I was just unlucky! You managed to have a game with them yet?
can you do a video of the complete click trigger d pad and the regular click buttons

As for this one I'd say fit the digital triggers first then the back buttons, the digital triggers are a little fiddley
i feel like if i try this im gonna break my controller
and i dont want it to break
and also i really want to do it so what do i do i want help because im scared of breaking my controller😢
You shouldn't break your controller, as long as you take your time and have faith in yourself.
Also double check with model pad you have as there's 3 different versions now
Hello craig, can i install the full clicky kit along with the led kit on bdm-020?
is this the clicky hair trigger or the mouse click trigger or are they the same im not sure
By the way, make sure you turn off adaptive triggers, or else it will ruin it or you can cut the wires, but I will just turn off adaptive triggers
Kinda wish theyd make a version that keeps the triggers the same but keeps l1 and r1 the same. Id prefer to keep full functionality for the triggers.
So you mean like separate buttons? L1/R1 normal and L2/R2 digital?
Have you not tried Ratchet and Crank or what ever it's called, my friend played that and said the haptic are amazing on that game
Hey Craig great content.
I have a question, can you the same video for the BDM 010 controller?
Thank you
th-cam.com/video/mMYf9TKhjco/w-d-xo.html
Tbh the install is pretty much the same, only thing different is the plastic pieces you push in
At this point I wonder why the gaming industry has made analog triggers a standard. They add immersion to games but in most cases, actual gamers prefer a simple digital button.
For racing games you need the full motion triggers, but shooting games like CoD digital are awesome. I've a few pads, couple are modded and others are standard
Hi Craig, great informative videos, will you be doing one for the Micro Switch - Strong Version Clicky Hair Trigger Kit for ps5 Controller?

What about a video on how to install the triggers if you've previously installed the bottom buttons?

What is the difference between the clicky hair trigger kit and the tactile version? ☺️
The tactile have more of a mouse click feel and sound, they're my favourite to use
@@CraigsChannel I wish ps5 controllers were more reliable not to drift, I have the back paddles and just had to take them out to send my controller back to Sony, less than a year and it’s already drifting😭😂
Please, I would like to get some information. In some videos, they cut 2 cables and cancel the engine, what is the reason?
Do you prefer the standard hair triggers or the tactile ones? Any noticeable difference between them.
Tactile ones just feel much better, the normal ones as people will probably mention just don't seem very Clicky at all. I came into a little issue with these, I've left it in the video so it'll help anybody else fitting them, but think I was just sent out a faulty modling of the plastics as it was constantly pressing the button
Mine is a 030 and it has all the markings on the rear as a 020
The best way to check now which version you have is by looking at the L2 or R2, you can see the insides to see if it's a 010 020 or 030.
😄 yeah the few moments later sucked for me, luckily I filled the plastic down a little and was fine. Have you turned off haptic feedback in your controller settings?
My dawg, you need to do a video on the new Micro switches from extreamrate💯💯💯

I'm just waiting on my custom controller to arrive that'll probably be my next video
No soldering? Thank God PS5 is so much easier to mod
Hi Craig I brought the hair triggers when I looked it matches with the code about being a Bdm 20 when I took it apart I had a bdm 30 board.

Just a question! Doing this dose the haptic trigger effect still work with the trigger stoppers?
No they'll no longer work, the whole point of the haptic is to feel the full motion of pressing L2 or R2, but with this you'll only press it very little. I'd recommend having two controllers, one modded and one standard 👍

@@CraigsChannel btw pop your ID if you wanna do some reps, I’m in the UK too.

That pink controller rocks! Admittedly I'm terrified of trying this. Would you say it's more complicated than installing the back buttons?
Yeah I love the pink, I'm after the galaxy purple one but it was out of stock last time I tried to buy.
As for these I wouldn't say their complicated, just a little fiddly, same with the back buttons. If you take your time you shouldn't have an issue
I have both rise 4 and tactile trigger. Which one do I put first the trigger or the beck button?
Help me! :)
Thanks again
TH-cam always delete comments randomly on my channel, I've had a couple of people thinking it's me removing them, but they realised it was YT. The way you can usually tell is if you post a comment and check back 30 seconds later it's gone... I'm fast at checking messages but not that fast 😄
What games do you play? If its CoD or another FPS game I'd say just stick with 2 buttons, but if you play role playing game like that Eldor Scroll or what ever it's called, people said the more buttons the better!
And if its CoD you play Digital triggers are also a really good mod to do along with the back buttons
@@CraigsChannel it did it again! Was waiting for a reply. 2 buttons for me Craig please. What one do you recommend? I just play cod
th-cam.com/video/NdH9o9mi0HU/w-d-xo.html
That 2 button kit with the grippy, grip is my favourite and seems the most popular. 4 buttons might just be overkill and you might be like me and never use them
On my bdm 010, my left trigger doesn't register when I click it, but when I click it harder it does. It clicks but doesn't register with a normal press. My right trigger works fine
Any help would be appreciated.
@@badger1096 As in R2 and not R1?
First thing I'd say is make sure the plastic piece for R2 looks OK and has to bits sticking out
@@CraigsChannel yeah I checked that and it was fine. Not sure what the problem may be?
When I press down normally, i can hear the click but it doesn't register. It's when I put more than normal pressure it registers
Sorry for the late reply I fell asleep last night.
If its clicking but not registering it sound like you could have a faulty kit
Galaxy gear S3 frontier… nice
Can you answer me why “pro” controllers exist when these mods exist? Are Pro controllers any better? Do they have some sort of advantage? Because as far as I’m aware once you have a RISE4 and this Tactical Trigger kit, I don’t see a difference.
I'm due a new smart watch and phone. My friends been after a smart watch for ages so might give him this, it's served me well 😁
As for Pro controllers you mean like the new Dualsense edge? Nah if you fit the extremerate mods, you just save yourself a hell of a lot of money plus you get to learn how the inside of the controller works. I really don't want to give Sony £210 for that controller but I was going to buy it for the channel and compare
i don’t have the screws in the front that allow the triggers to detach from the core
@@CraigsChannel yea it always felt weird it might be off track or something
It's normally just a simple pop out and pop back in with the L1 and R1, not much can really go wrong, I'm not even sure if you can put them in wrong!
So you're swapping the kit to another pad?
Hello, I can’t get those 4 little screws out that you need out in order to pull the cover off to remove the rod out so can pull off the R2/L2 buttons. They do not seem to be unscrewing at all, just spinning.
Does the screwdriver head look OK? Have you got another you could try
@@CraigsChannel The screw heads are in good shape (not stripped out) and are definitely turning just do not seem to be backing out. This is the only controller I have modded with the back-buttons. I may check another in the future.
You were right I used a different screwdriver and the screws are now unscrewing.
does this kit make the r1 and l1 buttons slighly shorter gap too or just for l2 r2?
Do you know a website where i can buy the battery and the main board ?
im not sure if you can buy it, but i raged on my controller and the battery socket broke off the main board of the controller
Bro the extreme rate video they cut the cables and tape them to “avoid” some sound? Have u noticed this “sound”? I noticed u didn’t bother cutting/taping them
The sound is the haptic feedback, people forget to turn it off when fitting these. To be honest I turned mine off from day one, I really wasn't a fan, if you're going to start cutting wires you'll void your warranty. I know it's technically void anyways once you open it, but... if you put it all back as standard how would they know 🤔😄
@@CraigsChannel ah gotcha. I turn that thing off anyway same as u. So will leave as is. Thanks man
My wires are connected to my motherboard is there a video for that?
When will they release for bdm 30?
Hopefully very soon as loads of people have been asking. They never really give dates, it's more a waiting game
Please help. I've installed the triggers and now I'm trying to install back buttons. I open the board and put the black wire into the place. But now I can't seem to put my board back. It doesn't snap back in and is very lose
Which board the green one?
@@CraigsChannel yeah it was the green one but I managed to fix it and now its all working perfectly. You're videos are great and informative love them bro
Sorry I took a while to reply, I've just came out the cinema 😁
Glad to hear you fixed it, I didn't think it would be much of an issue, but always good to hear somebody fixed it themselves 👍
Thanks for the kind words
Do you know which version controller you have?
@@CraigsChannel I just figured it out have 030 and I bought the tactical version 010 and 020
Yeah I thought so! I have no idea why Sony keep changing the kits, it's so annoying. Only thing you can do is send the kit back or if you have another controller that's compatible
@@CraigsChannel I’ll have to send it back but thanks
No problem at all. I've actually just got the newer version for my BDM-030 as my older BDM-020 had started to suffer a bit stick drift, so thought I might as well move on to the newer model
Are controller models changed or something? I got mine recently and once i opened it it didn’t seem to be similar to the previous ones. I’ve installed triggers on two of my controllers last year but the one i got recently was a bit different. Its a new Black bdm 020 controller. Could i still use the kits or i have to get an older version of a controller?
Are sure it's not a 030? These kits work on 010 and 020
@@CraigsChannel turns out it is!😅 guess I’ll have to wait for a 030 version hopefully they’ll have it soon.
They should be out really soon, like the next week or two hopefully
@@CraigsChannel Great! Looking forward for a video on it. Keep up the good work👍🏼
Thanks man appreciate it 😁
9:33 how come i dont have those screws on my controller
Do you have a BDM-030 or 040
Hi Craig can you still fit the triggers if you already have the rise 4 kit installed
Yeah, you'll just have to disconnect everything before hand, just take your time
I just bought the clicky face button kit and the Rise 4 backpaddle kit just then, and already had mouse click triggers and bumpers in. Will everything work together?
Yeah everything should be fine fitted. Did you get the original Clicky or the tactile ones?
Can someone tell me how this mod feels for a game like street fighter where you need to be precise with your diagonal direction ex doing dp,fb, tk motions. Is it too stiff ?
It'll be the digital face button you'll want not the triggers. I've a video on them as well, that's the main reason people get them for fighting games
Can I add the paddles and the hair trigger on the same controller
Yeah of course, that's my go to, I always use that combo I'd be lost without it. I'm sure I've got a video showing you how to install both, but... I would always recommend installing the triggers, make sure they work first, then fit the paddles
dude I dont have the front screws to take out the l2 r2
mine is bdm20 I just got it today
what do I do, There is no video like that
The screws under R1 and L1? I'm not sure which screws you mean, can you tell me on the video the time
Triggers aren’t working how do I fix this?
writing to you now because I was thinking if there was a mouse click version with only the Bumpers (L1 R1) so if I found it for you, if you would send it to me you would be doing me a favor
What if i want to turn clicky triggers off and turn on the stock triggers do i need to open the controller again?
I've installed these successfully on 2 previous controllers....I'm doing a 3rd and for life if me once I get the plastic housing back on...it won't click anymore. When I apply small pressure up on the pin it works. As soon as that pressure is gone it stops working
Im using the ps5 controller on a ps4 using a zen. So the haptic is not important to me. I went back in and turned the gear away and it all lined up
I have a BDM 20 controller and I’m trying to remove the triggers but I don’t see any screws to remove them any idea why I can’t find them
Are you sure it's a 020? Were the screws not in the same place as mine on the video?
@@CraigsChannel came to find out I have a bdm 030😭 it’s ok tho it still looks nice
@@CraigsChannel yea I couldn’t see any screws that I could take out to remove the triggers
Did you by any chance get the hard micros? I got them and like you say doesn't even feel like you're pressing them, so I got the light version to try
@@CraigsChannel I'll try them, thank you for the input!
Keep me updated on how you get on and if you like them more than the micros
I can't seem to get my controller triggers apart on my new controller. Completely different set up
Sony have changed these controllers so much its ridiculous, there's a BDM-010, 020, 030 and 040. You can check my pressing L2 or R2 to see which version you've got, Extremerate have added photos to Amazon
@@CraigsChannel it was the bdm 040 and i had the kit for the 020. Couldn't figure it out so i just converted my older bdm 020 controller
Can you do this only on the bumpers and not the triggers?
Unfortunately not, the way the kit is made it's both R1/R2 and same with L1/L2. I'm guessing you mean could you only have R1 and L1 as digital
Would these work with the dualsense edge?
As soon as put the cover on over the cog and put the screws back in I lose the clicky sound. Any suggestions?
Are you making sure to line the metal rod? It can be a little tricky. Also did you fit the right part for your pad, not sure if you have a 010 or 020
would it be okay to do this after installing the remap 2.0 kit?
Yeah you'll just have to be careful you've enough room to move stuff about, just be careful and take your time. Also make sure you buy the right version and model of triggers
I really ned this..but I can't find it here in Philippines
