    I got a mk 7 golf wagon and it took me about id say 16 hours (2 days of 12-10 and 10-8) with all the wiring and removal of my bc racing coils to the 3h series Airlift performance bags for my install, and i still havent even set my height sensors up i just got the pressure lol. been about 3 months for me currently and i love how it feels while driving once i got the perfect presets set up only con is i got a bigger antisway then stock and it just rubs on my axles a bit if i got under like 33 psi on the fronts, rears i can get down to like 20 with steelies and winter tires on

    Not bad. It escaped you to mention the ride quality comparison. Also, I don't think you mentioned the name of the controller. It is best you follow up with a part 2 experience after you upgrade from plastic lines to the metal ones.

    Most of my friends have vdubs with bags. With proper tools you can install the rear in about 30 minutes and the front takes about the same unless your knuckle doesn’t want to spread from coilovers to bags I would never go back even though there is some serious maintenance to do with bags

      Sorry it’s late but the noise depends on where the system is located in the car, for example if it’s in the boot in a 5 door car then it’s not going to be a big deal. But say in the boot of a 350z like I had it in, the noise is very annoying.

    I went with the airlift performance 3p kit. Two compressors, a water trap, and an automatic electric drain kit.
    The drain kit allows you to purge water from the tank to the outside of the car at the push of a button. Also, the sound is pretty cool.
    My whole setup ran me approximately $3700.00. I paid a licensed airlift shop to install it for another $1400.00. I installed the drain kit myself.
    Many say to install it yourself but unlike this gentleman, I've had my setup for 2 summers and 2 winters with no air leaks, no issues, and the only maintenance is purging water from your tank every other week. Again If you have the electric drain kit - all you have to do is push a button.
    Air suspension is not maintenance heavy and if you're running into a lot of leaks it means it was installed improperly. The installation is very very important. It is going to make you hate or love air suspension.
    I recommend paying a professional. Trying to save money doing it yourself may cause a lot of headaches and end up costing you more $ down the line.

    • @Wynot
      @Wynot  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To each their own. $5,000 on a car that’s now 10 years old++ to change suspension is the absolute high end. As I said if you want the best you gotta pay for the best but it… comes at a cost. I’m not making videos for people with deep pockets.

    • @blkeclipsel2400
      @blkeclipsel2400 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Wynot That's a very valid point! 5 grand for an old vehicle suspension is an awful lot. The vehicle would either have to be a sought-after antique worth a lot of money or a relatively new vehicle for most to justify spending that kind of cash. No disagreement there.
      However, any and every aftermarket modification can be seen as a waste of money to anyone outside the automobile community and I've seen bags on vehicles worth less than yours. It's still a nice car and it means something to you.
      Your video was accurate and honest. You explained the difference between slammed and performance series. You mentioned that you've installed it yourself and you openly addressed the issues you have been experiencing. I just felt it was important to clarify that these issues aren't as frequent as you inadvertently let on If installed correctly. It could put someone off on the whole idea of going with air suspension.
      I don't have deep pockets but I do have little patience. At least not as much patience as you. When faced with the same decision - I felt that $1400.00 for professional work and a warranty isn't a lot of money if it means saving myself from having to constantly fix errors on a component that has the potential to leave me and a new vehicle stranded somewhere.

      @@mrwilliams7086 if you're getting airlift suspension, you can go to their website.They have a search feature to locate an authorized dealer/installer in your area. That's how I found my installer.
      I don't remember if airlift sells directly from their site as I didn't make the purchase until I paid the installer a visit. He was able to order it for me .
