Great video, i notice my idling rough and this was it.
What size is that nut on the back of the intake manifold, got it all disassembled and got stuck there. It's an ity bitty nut, a tad smaller than a 1/4?
Mine will idle a little high not much but after you drive a little bit but when you turn it off and crank back up the idle is normal what is that
Would that cause a misfire in cylinder 6?
What Year Vortec is that? Is that even an S10? I know they (IAC's) are mostly the same on all GM vehicles. That throttle body looks like a 5.0 or 5.7. All of the 4.3 Vortecs had the "Spider" injectors IIRC.
Can't I just clean the iac? Or do I need to replace it?

I did everything in the video and everything is normal now but my temperature gauge is dead and it wasn’t before I put everything apart.

I have a really weird problem. But maybe you know what's causing this. I have a 1996 chevy astro van 4.3. When I go over 40 t0 45 mph the rpm rises to 3,000. And it will not go down until i stop and turn off the motor for like 5 seconds. Crank back up and it idles normal. Here's what I have done so far.
1) I replaced the IAC valve. I have tried 3 of them. problem still exists.
2) Then I thought maybe the computer is defective. So I match numbers to one on Ebay for 50 bucks from a junkyard. Hooked it up and still the same thing.
Extras i have done.
Upgraded the injection system. Had the nasty cpi on it. And they were having a sell on the balanced injectors just 59 bucks more so I bought them.
Replaced the dummy distributer. I bought one that fits the same year truck with the same motor and set up because the truck distributors are metal not the breakable plastic. Cost only 5 dollars more.
The crank trigger been replaced.
Motor does not miss.
Has 232,000 miles on it but because I use a top grade oil aka Amsoil. it runs like new.
Question: Will a mass air flow sensor cause this? I have my old one. The reason I ask was because I used one for a 97 because it was a little bigger. But I drove it with zero problem for several weeks then one day this problem cropped up. And no, there are no codes. Which is also weird.
Oh forgot one thing. I also replaced the wiring harness to the IAC valve still does the same thing.
Those engines are known for EGR valves getting carbon built up on the pintle.
My S10 has the same problem
Check your Throttle Position Sensor also... And the EGR as previous reply already said.
My mechanic didnt remove any of these he did it on the side
