NB! I've left budget alternative parts in the description if you're interested in saving money of certain parts (LIKE THE SUPER EXPENSIVE MOBO) haha ;)
I have done the research for the best tempature controlled pc possible in 2023. If you're interested in such a build, let me know, and I'll give you the parts list. WITH ONLY CONSUMER PRODUCTS NOT LN2.
The Ridge is a definite improvement over the older Node 202. I built in one of those way back and it was a hot box, and much more constricting in many ways. I'd really like to a build in one of these. And... not nessisarily a change I would make, but an alternative suggestion. The ID Cooling IS-55 is quite a bit smaller than the L12 , doesn't overhang the RAM, and it performs just as well as the L12... plus, it has RGB is you want it and it comes in black. Also, I'd love to see a comparison between NVIDIA and Arc for video editing.
Noctoa put a great compatibilty chart on their website, telling you this: High-Clearance mode only (fan on top). Compatible in orientation 1 only. LGA 1700 mounting-kit included since 11/2021;)
I think there needs to be more mistake vids in the builder community! SFF cases must increase the chances of getting something wrong - there's much less room for error, or anything else really. Kind of surprised you went with the ARC GPU and that it works fine!
Please also check the fan noise during web browsing/office/TH-cam tasks … that would be very interesting. I don’t mind when the PC gets louder during excessive work but it should be very quiet or silent when watching TH-cam videos or writing :) Great video, thanks!
There is no reason to run the fans to even medium speed for those tasks. My i7 gen12 laptop is completely silent 99% of the time (normal use with my 170 tabs Firefox, Chrome sometimes, Libre Office, GIMP, pdf editing, light stuff like that).
I believe that you have the case upside down. The 80mm fans are supposed to be exhaust fans at the top of the case. The power switch and USB ports should be at the bottom.
A more balanced yet affordable combo would be Strix b660-i, Zotac trinity 4070ti, 13500 and SilverStone Extreme 850R Platinum, everything else keep the same. Nice Video.
Just want to say that the SF750 can handle up to 967W, and is extremely quiet even compared to ATX units. It is the best choice for SFX psu Also SP850 is quite dangerous, they have been seen exploding numerous times
We can now appreciate the skills of Optimum Tech when working with ITX builds. It must be pretty damn frustrating needing to remove everything again when you can't fit one component.
Im using this case in a horizontal layout because of space restrictions. It’s a hot box 😂 3080ti, shroud mod 3 9x25mm and copper mod and 3 80mm top exhaust. cpu 5700x black ridge with T30 fan and 9x14chromax. Gpu easily reaches 83c thermal throttle and cpu at 80c…
Hello. Nice little compact PC build. What seems a bit strange is that motherboards cannot withstand much before things break. Seems to be very fragile, so where is the quality control..
I wonder how did you get an idea to push a hot air from a GPU inside the case with upsidedowning it!? (( x3 80mm fans above a GPU must help a top air to escape a case as quick as possible. Unless these are not reversed flow direction by design, I can see that even in a GPU on top configuration they will just create a flow mess rather than to make things better. Cmmon!
Noctua says that NH-L12S can cool an i9 13900k. I'm not sure about it, but would be very interesting try to build on the Ridge the smallest super PC possible nowdays. MSI's 4090 Ventus is supposed to fit in...
Huh? We’re rough with the back of the motherboard all the time when building and not to mention putting ram in takes force. The back shouldn’t fall apart??😓
Nice .. me like, any update on the ARC 770 for video editing benchmark? And also will you do reviwe of the AMD xoD when it is lunched , was going to upgrade to a intel 13gen but now i want to know abut the AMD if it is any good for video editing.
X3D is only better for gaming, for some production things it's actually worse than regular version. That doesn't mean they are bad for editing but it means they still aren't worth it. (because of the platform cost with AM5) 13th gen is a great choice rn.
IMO a lot of this is just down to not overbuilding, which people *always* do with these things. IDK why people feel the need to stick massive GPUs and ultra-powerful CPUs that need huge coolers into tiny cases like this. If I were doing it I'd get an efficient midrange CPU and an Nvidia A2000.
Real Gamers only use 2 screws at opposite ends of everything except the motherboard we only use 4 in the corners and one in the middle unless the motherboard tray comes with the middle standoff post installed.
These so-called tech youtubers are spreading misinformation again 😂 in my ridge build. I'm using full sized ram sticks.. 32gb Dominator platinums and a 5800x because my cooler is a Scythe Big Shuriken 3 and I swapped the fan for a Noctua NF-A12X15 🤤

I really want to see more Intel cards, especially as they fixed so many of the old drivers' bugs.

Usually flux, heat gun and some tiny tweezers should fix that problem. No need for solder as its already on there.

Would motherboard standoffs help avoid the SBM scrubbing, or is there not enough space?
it looks to me that the upper portion of the build is heavier than the lower portion. Is it possible to flip over and transfer the stands?

In generel intel ark would be not bad for twinmotion, enough vram, good raytracing, but i still don't know if it can run the pathtracer.
