    I really should learn shorthand to write all this info down.. Or then watch these videos again and again (I bet Nigel wouldn't mind ;) )
    The tree turned out beautiful, but what would you expect from the big D himself! Gonna go see his channel for sure!
    Thank you Nigel for catching this Demo☺

    You make the work look so easy and for a seasoned bonsai artist I guess it is easier for you but for those of us just learning I appreciate some slower explanation and videoing of the decisions you are making.

    Having attended the virtual international bonsai convention a few weeks ago, I feel like I have just attended another session, thank you! My little larch has a loooong way to go, but I have just a little more confidence when it comes to working on it. Not least getting styling ideas - they are not a common sight in Australia's bush!

    Everyone in the hobby will now call the narrow gauge wire “Nigel hair gauge” wire! Great demo. I wish I could find a larch like this one to work on. Thanks Nigel.

    Thanks for filming this Nigel. Hope i see you try to waier a tree some day. I feel you missing out! David is a master in bonsai and he proves it in this video. That is going to look amazing in a few years!

      the difference through wire and clip and grow is time. one is instant and the other takes years its a preference. two different techniques. both beautiful in their own right, but to say you're missing out on something because you don't have the patience isn't fair to someone who does. just saying. give credit where credit is due. neither technique is easy. but they are both worthy, but very much different and have very different skill sets.

      @@uhaneokalanijames8029 If you can cut the time in half by using wire. Its a no brainer for me. And aying wire on a tree is very fun to.
      I dont have 35years to cut and grow and got somthing that i am half okey with. Yes nigel has some beautiful trees. But they can easily achieve higher standard with some wire

    • @tomb8069
      @tomb8069 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this tree is quite contrived and unimpressive to me. I would rather grow a tree for decades and not use wire than do this kind of instant bonsai that looks nothing like an actual tree

    • @uhaneokalanijames8029
      @uhaneokalanijames8029 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomb8069 exactly, i heard david say it himself, the idea of bonsai is to achieve a tree that doesn't look like it has been touched by the hand of man. so that tells me nigel is doing everything right.

    really not a fan of this tree. looks just like a basic S shape tree you can buy at a big box store. too contrived and unnatural
