      I would like to suggest a review of the movie Man of God which will have a second release date in theaters on March 28. It is based on the true story of Saint Nektarios. You can find the trailer here on TH-cam and also can search for interviews here with the director and actor Mickey Rourke (who has a small but powerful role in the movie). I believe you will be deeply moved by this movie!!

    I find the Passion to be an empty and hollow film. Well crafted, but it’s just singularly focused on the physical pain. It doesn’t attempt to connect the viewer with Jesus, the person, or his mental suffering.
    Temptation, on the other hand, does a great job of showing the mental and emotional toll Jesus suffered. Even how having the voice of God in his head is more than a human can bear, was a nice touch.
    I prefer Temptation. It made me think far more.

      The Last Temptation certainly took my thoughts in many directions a lot as well. I find that The Passion becomes more appreciative after seeing Jim Caviezel's & Mel Gibson's interviews about it, and hearing other Christians speak of how they were moved by the storytelling. Honestly, I still like The Greatest Story Ever Told and Jesus Christ Superstar more than both The Passion and The Last Temptation. I love how each Jesus movie has a unique, faithful message on Jesus.

    i have both movies on dvd. in the last temptation of christ i saw a part where jesus said he had sins. the bible says jesus committed no sin. 1st peter 2:22 - hebrews 4:15

      Just as Jesus said many things that were not meant to be taken literally, The Last Temptation focuses on the man of Jesus, where this shouldn’t be taken literally, either. In that scene, Jesus refers to the sins of all of others that he is paying for with his main sacrifice.

    I think aesthetically The Passion is way better, the portrayal of Yeshua is better, but, the Last Temptation of Christ focuses better on developing Yeshua as a character outside of the biblical scriptures. More as a literary character that needs flaws. Of course i think i prefer The Passion because it’s more similar to the material the Myth is from. And the Last Temptation Of Christ is an experimentation of the character of Jesus and how to write it as a Literary character rather than a Mythological one. Since i am a fan of Mythology, i prefer The Passion, but both are excellent perspectives on this interesting Myth.

      Nice statement. The Bible is truth, and no adaptation of the Bible can replace the Bible. Good adaptations will celebrate faith & bring newcomers to the Bible.

      @@JGarMedia Well i wouldn't call it the TRUTH since i am not religious and if we are counting Christianity as a Mythology similar to Greek or Roman mythology, then there are many more texts that are not in the Bible such as The Book Of Enoch, Tobit, The Testament Of Solomon and the Lesser Key Of Solomon that tell more tales of these Mythical Characters.
      The Divine Comedy & The Poem Paradise Lost are also considered part Christian Mythology.
      Similar to the Aeneid, Iliad & Odyssey. The Bible is a compendium of different books that tell some of the most famous Myths from this amazing Mythology.

      @@nevarezcastillooscar2339 Sounds like you haven't had the encounter with the Lord. You said "if we are counting Christianity as a Mythology" and nowhere in the video did I mention mythology. I discussed how these movie adaptations focus on aspects of the truth. I'm not religious, & neither is God. I don't have all the answers, & I'm not supposed to. God has changed my life, & the Holy Spirit helps me serve. One way I serve Christ is by reviewing these Bible movie adaptations for how they portray the good news of the Gospel. In this particular video, I also mentioned miracles on-set of these 2 movies at the 7:01 mark. I've also shared my testimony and other stories of faith on my channel. I will pray for non-believing viewers to have that spiritual encounter that draws them to the Bible and church.

    What about Paul's description in the film. He is made to be a liar

    • @JGarMedia
      @JGarMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Paul's scene happens in the vision sequence. It paints him as lying since it's in the alternate timeframe of Jesus staying not completing the sacrifice. When the vision sequence gets taken away in favor of the main sacrifice, Paul's scene as a liar is also erased.

      Jesus saw Paul on the cross and in his head an alternate timeline happens where Paul was still preaching the same message. I think this is Jesus seeing into the future in his state of martyrdom. Paul would be a liar if Jesus didn't actually die, resurrect and appear to him and Jesus saw that firsthand. That's what I got out of that scene because the 2nd half of the whole movie is his last temptation in his head

    Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ' is a gorefest, a simple rehash of countless forgetable previous films featuring Christ's crucifixion, prosthetic wounds and artificial blood applied by the bucket load. It also sticks to the hack-neyed historical nonsense that Christ was both scourged and crucified with his modesty maintained by wearing a loincloth. I don't suggest that Scorsese's 'The Last Temptation of Christ' is perfect but it is an much more intelligent film perhaps because it doesn't solely rely on questionably accurate texts written decades after Christ's crucifixion.

    Signs and dreams are common in the Bible.So I never thought about that.

    • @JGarMedia
      @JGarMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me, I’ve been told that some dreams are based on our own thoughts while other dreams can be signs. I always loved the story of Joseph interpreting dreams in Genesis, & other visions in Bible stories, so seeing it in The Last Temptation works.

    The Passion wins because it's more biblically accurate. The last temptation is not biblical and I feel it's taking a sort of monogist perspective. Maybe that's why atheist or agnostic loves this over the passion makes sense.
