For my taste, this was his best drumtrack , powerfull, energy to the roof, a master at is game, damn, so hard to watch. RIP Taylor, can only imagine Dave sadness....
funny, one of my bucket list items used to be "watching a fashion show in person." But that has since been replaced with what you said (you can add to the Foos: AIC, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Screaming Trees). 👍
The bass is like the gluten in the bread and the bread is the song so that means like the studio is the oven and we're cooking it up but it ain't gonna taste right unless the bread has gluten in it We ain't makin no gluten free bread You know what I say No gluten, no gooten Dave Grohl, 2014
Yea I know I have like all their albums and saw them in Anaheim last month haha. But I've never heard he was underrated I'd always heard great things about him
Does any fucker know how to use the word underrated? They’re not underrated at all! How the fuck is a band with the record sales, world tours, and notoriety like these guys underrated?
Great insight into the band without them referencing cameras too much. The way they kick into the Schifflett solo via plug interference is bloody awesome. Totally different feel but almost same technique as opening of 1st song, 1st album -this is a call...
I love this behind the scenes stuff. Some of this was in the show, but obv not all. Hearing them play thru the song without the vocals was really cool.
Luis Fernando Barbosa Pérez Thats a very kind offer thank you :) However i have been through this and couldn't find a place in my homeland of Hungary where I can order an embroided patch for a sensible price and ordering it from the USA and shipping it is a bit too pricy
I've been a Foo Fighters fan since hearing Ever Long and My Hero in 1998 on radio. I saw some of this and the main program of this on HBO in 2015 and bought the blu-ray set and really enjoyed all the content. I also own the vinyl record and played it for my dad and he liked some of the songs off it. Was very sad when i heard the news that Taylor passed away he was a talented drummer and huge part of the Foo's.
Me too that's some of what I always listened to before football games then ironically that song alone made the movie varsity blues a must watch for me.
Waow, i love this band and for a musician, to see How they record their songs, that's just great !! Pure rock n'roll ! Greetings from Paris, France (where we can play rock too ...!) 🎸🎶
It's super interesting to watch the subtle changes in production from that older Nothing Left To Lose BTS documentary and this one. The energy, the creative process, the production process, it's all really inspiring.
Those dark melodies are why I'm so influenced by the Foo Fighters and Dave's guitar playing. He always comes up with something dark but beautiful and unique. Taylor Hawkins, man, gone too soon
This is a great insight of behind the scenes on how the album was made. Pretty cool each song was made in a different location. It's a shame the album was terrible.
I really wish I could like this album. Sonic Highways had SO much potential, but then they absolutely blew it. I honestly think the creation process is more interesting than the album itself :(
FF's use the riff from Holy Diver in their song Something From Nothing from their new album Sonic Highways as Dave Grohl's way of paying tribute to Dio (ori. Aug 83) - It's music played by gifted musicians - to their credit , they've are a huge success for 20 years (70 thousand fans in Sweden stayed on to watch DG sing rock songs on crutches in June 2015) respect their solid work ethics. Thank you for sharing this.
Talk about underrated? Chris Shiflett. That dude is a beast.
let's talk about Pat also! Awesome guitar player! :D
No kidding hey. I love them but yes. Mr. Talent rolls with absolutely adjustments.
I love Pat too
Then Rick
@Matt Stone the heck?
Damn. I remember watching this years ago and being so inspired to play the drums...
RIP to Taylor Hawkins. Great drummer. Gone too soon. RIP legend 🤘
Killed by Dave Growl.
Dave can’t keep his eyes of Taylor even for just a second. A beautiful bromance.
Watching Taylor Hawkins play always makes my day. He's just enjoying it so much!
taylor's passion cannot be denied!
RIP
💔💔💔
I love the Foo Fighters...51 years old and they are my favorite band... Never too old to Rock N Roll
I'm 16 and they're my favorite too. Good music doesn't discriminate against age. Rock on man! 🤘🏼
Gage Kinard
Frank Jones rock on la

"No Gluten, no Gooten"
-*Dave Grohl 2014*
I wish I could take Dave's advice, unfortunately if I wrote a song with gluten, my celiac ass would get really sick 😪
Guten***
For my taste, this was his best drumtrack , powerfull, energy to the roof, a master at is game, damn, so hard to watch. RIP Taylor, can only imagine Dave sadness....
I love how Taylor screams "THAT WAS FUCKING RAD!!!" at the end 😂😂😂
I'd love to be known as "the guy who plugs Chris Shiflett' guitar on Something from Nothing' solo".
it is on my bucket list to be in a recording studio witnessing a band recording stuff, wish it couldve been the foo fighters :(, RIP Taylor.
funny, one of my bucket list items used to be "watching a fashion show in person." But that has since been replaced with what you said (you can add to the Foos: AIC, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Screaming Trees). 👍
I thought I was the only one with a bucket list item like this. Good luck with yours!
Holy shit, why didn't Dave keep in that riff at 15:04? As Taylor said, 'THAT SHIT WAS *FUCKIN' RAD!!!!*
Sean O'Brien because it's not 1987
But apparently it’s all generations of mediocre rock, just not the good stuff lol
@@kiwi.panada2423 ...as if that matters...most of his riffs sound like '77

It’s incredible how much talent is in that room.
Bass player in a seperate room, with drummer...I like that...haha
That's ok then. I thought poor Taylor was by himself
Taylor Hawkins is so underrated
You think so? I've heard he's one of the best technically sound drummers around though?
+Manuel Molina jr You heard right, he's a mind-blowing drummer.
Yea I know I have like all their albums and saw them in Anaheim last month haha. But I've never heard he was underrated I'd always heard great things about him
+Manuel Molina jr i guess you confused underrated with overrated
Jeenius IAMa Probably not. Best current drummer so far.
The bread analogy made my day lol

Pat Smear looking like my grandad at 0:00-15:34.
You must have a pretty cool grandad
Every member from foo fighters is underrated

Love how happy Taylor looks when drumming
When you spend so much time with Jack Black, you learn the Jack Black Faces! 9:12
This is sick... and that riff before the end so chaotic love this band.

One of the best foos drum moments. 💗
Is Butch Vig one of that magical human beings that don't age? Like Keanu Reeves and Patrick Stewart?
Don'f forget Billie Joe Armstrong.
+JamesShore1990 fair question but just to ask something more important: WHERE CAN I GET THAT SOUND CITY JACKET PATCH SET????
+luchadorito
I could design it for U

Actually, I live in Colombia. Besides, I could send you the digital file to print.
I love how experimental the Foo Fighters are when recording new songs that is why we love them. 😄 🍺

Mark Matsko don't forget him on his own shirt
I'm so into the foos it's crazy just watching them is fun and inspiring

The best Foo's song yet imo.
I would agree, but "Make it Right" on the newest one gives it a run.
"We ain't makin no gluten-free bread"
- Dave Grohl
The bass is the gluten, and the song is the bread, so the studio is the oven, and we cooking a song up in here. we aint gonna have gluten free bread.
Lmao I love how excited Taylor got at the end

+Cooley Savant Hails Yes!!!!!! I was just watching that clip 10min ago thinking how they have all changed dramatically
15:05 is fucking hysterical and Taylor’s face shows you how badly Hawkins wants the band to sound like Metallica 😂
Lol yeah, I love Dave’s songwriting but a few thrashy riffs wouldn’t hurt in my opinion
❤ I can't stop loving this it is gold forever.
11:52 I'm 200% sure that THAT VOCAL LINE IS THE ONE THAT ENDED UP BEING MIXED ON THE FINAL SONG :D
am i the only one that read the title "making something from nothing"?

"No gluten, no gootin" Thanks Dave, I'm gonna say that all the time now when necessary
As cool as all the Foos are, the coolest guy in the room might be Butch Vig.
Rest in Peace Taylor my brother ❤️❤️
When I see the making of; I know why I'm still buying the CDs ! Keep up the good work !
I always love hearing pat guitar sound
This was fucking rad! RIP Taylor
That snare cracks so beatifully!

thx for sharing..this is my fav song from the new album...
Loved this Album! And loved this Documentary!
I would love the Foo Fighters to dress up and cover The Jacksons, like they did with Beatles at Letterman.
Only in true blackface
I’ll always love that ending the way T reacted 😂😂😂❤

PAJ DrumsnGuitar Because apparently it's not 1987....but it is 1983...you know, when Holy Diver came out.

the drumer (because I don't know his name) is the best. he's just so enthusiastic "FUCK'N SICK!!"
the intro sounds too familiar... skin n bones
I agree
Yeah, and one of the other riffs sounds like holy diver by dio.
And the in-between riff like the pre-chorus on I Should Have Known.
Seeing this video after reading Butch's post on Taylor's passing hits like a dagger to the heart.
I wish it was 1987. That would've been fuckin rad 15:04
