Premier Inn London Gatwick - we stayed in the new rooms!

- My new vlog is here! The Premier Inn London Gatwick North Terminal has had something of a make over with an entire floor of new premier plus rooms and a new outdoor bar in the courtyard plus late night snacks! Let’s see how we got on as we spend the night in a premier plus room on the 9th floor, have dinner at the on-site Thyme restaurant, refreshments from the on-site coffee shop, drinks in the new courtyard bar and we also check out the location and access to south terminal.

Its so good to be able to stroll out straight into the terminal at 4am instead of having do do a 3 hour drive at 12am

Good video, which sold me on the place. I have only recently started using Gatwick's hotels - pushing-back against the insane pricing of the airport's long-stay parking, which, a few years ago, was reasonable. The 'delta' between my drive/park and train/hotel options for my next trip? About £50, in the latter's favour. I found the food, in the other Premier Inn (A23), to be OK at dinner, and very good at breakfast. The 'meal deal': excellent value-for-money, especially when you compare it against meals bought inside the terminals.
I agree - meal deal can really save a lot of money!

I've stayed in a few premier plus rooms with my other half, he loves the big shower. One thing I did notice in your premier plus room was the bit where the fridge is hasn't got the cupboard door on it which you have to open before you can open the fridge door as all the other premier plus rooms I've stayed in do. I always do the meal deal as the premier inns I stop in its £24 and is worth the money when you add up the cost of your meals and breakfasts. The Thyme restaurants seem to of gone downhill lately I prefer the Bar and Block Steakhouse restaurants in Premier Inn and just recently when stopped at the Premier Inn Manchester Piccadilly (on Dale Street) they have the restaurant called The Social which is open 24 hours and not only that but the Premier Inns that have The Social have new check in machines that you can use the QR code on your booking to scan on the check in machine.

Never stayed in a bad Premier Inn..but I do like the airport ones..the upgrade looks fabulous 😊

We always stay here when we fly from Gatwick. We tend to eat at the pub across at the airport for evening meal

Nice rooms! … the food seems like that at air port hotels we had similar at the Sandman where next time i will take my own and use the microwave in the room! (we like it there as they do a good parking deal ad free taxi to Gatwick) enjoy Skiathos we went back there last year troulos bay hotel lovely 😁

Premier Inn used to be reasonably priced but post-Covid they are extremely expensive. I know that fuel costs have risen hugely but even allowing for that, they seem to be exploiting the market for all it is worth. I understand that if guests stay for more than one night, their room is not cleaned and the bed made unless the service is requested.
I have to disagree in part - we’ve had some excellent deals since covid at premier inns (£39?!) plus this particular night the cost of staying at this premier inn was significantly less than any other airport hotel in the area.
@@TravelBlogJamie I was considering a stay at the hotel you feature in mid-October. Prices this morning were more than £100 for one night in a standard room for one person.

Hi Jamie, Can you use this hotel for the north or south terminal? I'm thinking of booking ahead for next summer, but aren't sure about the flight details yet.
Yes, the free train shuttle in the video operates between north and south - tilt literally takes a couple mins. Super easy!
