      The first one turned up in my friend's kitchen, except it was silver and it had its own stand. I never got round to use it before it broke (or so I'm told). It's still on the worktop, nobody dares or has the heart to throw it out.

    • @nimz469

      And it seemed like the ratio of the hot water:coffee+sugar was wrong anyways, it really was not the whisk’s fault

  • @leannegibbs1064
    @leannegibbs1064 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2333

    Ok, first item, it's a milk frother, not a whisk, so technically it's meant to froth things, not whip, so it did it's job. Second product also worked, but it's meant for chip bags not icing sugar plastic so that's probably why it melted so bad. Third item, well I think user error was the issue on that one and for the regular sifter, I don't think you're meant to shake it, I just hold the sifter above my bowl and lightly tap it.
    Just an FYI this is not hate, I'm just commenting on what I've seen so far. I love your videos and your personality! Please keep making these vids! Soooo fun!

      I feel like a lot of people that make gadgets videos just don't know how to use gadgets. There's so many where things don't go right and they blame the gadget, but it's just actually user error and it is so damn annoying. Like, if the thing doesn't come with instructions or they're in some different language, maybe it's a good idea to do a quick google search and there's most likely instructions on the internet for the thing or something similar enough at least. That's what I would do at least if something was unclear.

    The icing pen works really well for sugar cookie icing. For cake frosting, the frosting needs to be thicker than that. The red tip should come off to allow it to suck up thin icings. It's really nice when you only need the tiniest amount of a color since those don't work well in piping bags. My kids definitely prefer using that to piping bags when they get to decorate a cake or cupcakes

    I've studied with around 5 pastry chefs from Skills USA, and all have warned against sifting sugar in an actual sifter. Sugar is sticky no matter how fine it is, so it will get between the metal pieces and make it harder to sift. Only dry ingredients should go into a sifter sugar is considered a wet ingredient.

    The manual sifters are fantastic for those who bake, HOWEVER, learn from my cheapy mistakes. 1. Although the trigger type seem like a better idea because they are one handed, they always end up jamming. Get the crank kind. They never jam. 2. Keep in mind the capacity, a 1cup softer will be easier to store but a PITA if you have to refill it six times to make a loaf of bread. For my uses (4 member household) I find a 2.5C is the sweet spot; it holds quite a bit without being ginormous.
