2023 Year in Review I Thabo Bester prison escape case grips the nation

Dr Nandipha Magudumanan's elderly father Zolile Sikeleni and co-accused Senoe Motsoara were the first accused to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court in convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester's prison escape plot.
They were later joined by accused number three Teboboho Lipholo, who confessed to the police about his involvement.
Dr Nandipha Magudumana, Motanyane Masukela, Tieho Makhotsa and Nastassja Jansen followed later.
At first eight people including Bester, were arrested.
