Now how Bafana conducted himself at the crime once he had stumbled upon Kirsten’s body is beyond bizarre.The truth is most people will likely act in all manner of ways when confronted by this kind scene,Bafana on the other hand is a literate young man with a fundamental forensic awareness to know and do have better there.Most people would call the police and will most definitely not touch the deceased.Personally ,I was repulsed by Bafana’s demeanour in court. He’s either so petulant and doesn’t understand the gravity of his alleged and proven actions or he is a budding callous monster who’s feeding off of the media attention.Theres nothing to smile about when someone’s daughter has lost their life.These considerations amongst other are going to make it hard for his defence against the “defeating the ends of justice “ stick. Inspite of everything, he has be to given a fair trial and be proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Speaking of reasonable doubt, there’s the state😣🤦🏿🤦🏿. In light of the CCTV footage they’ve released and the accused confession,what else can they say they have that proves he indeed murdered Kirsten?Could no one corroborate the taxi story and getting off-at the wrong stop?What of Kirsten running mates or even organisers?was there no one that could an account of when last they saw Kirsten? Was there a possibility she was murdered elsewhere and her body subsequently dumped at the park?Could the same CCTV perhaps capture someone who may or may not have left Kirsten there?the “blanket” she was found in by the accused?can’t it’s fibres be traced to someone close to her or otherwise?Is there a possibility of tunnel vision?could the killer still be roaming around? I can go on and on and on. Hopefully thorough investigations are ongoing more evidence will come to light later on and some semblance of justice can be served for the comfort of the bereaved family. On the other hand it would be a miscarriage of justice if the life of a young man winds up ruined because of state incompetence and wrongful conviction,this is in terms of the miser charges.

Now they ASSUME that his shirt MAY have had blood stains only to be in position where they now have to further prove/disprove their theory is why I’m saying they need to do more work. When have we become a country that says, “guilty until proven innocent?” What is bail after all? This is a first time offender, why are we so hell bent in keeping him behind bars while he’s being investigated? I’m not saying he didn’t do it. I’m saying, he should be investigated being given bail because he doesn’t even seem to be flight risk or even a danger to society. Unless you people want to continue assuming that he’s a serial killer WITHOUT any proof again. What if we discover someone else committed the crime? What happens then? How will he be restored the months he shall have spent in jail in vain?
