At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

The way Mustafa was looking at her red long hair and touching her face thinking she is so preety, let me touch to see if she is real. Sad that probably she saw him grow up in real life and later had to become hostile against each other.
There is nothing to suggest that they were hostile to each other in real life. Mustapha becoming indifferent to Hurrem, probably, but Hurrem kept the channel of communication open by writing to him through Suleiman till the end.
Don't forget she was his primary care giver whe Mahidevran was exiled from the harem.
Wow! She just finds out that she’s pregnant, yet she’s miffed and crying over a ring. This is why Hurrem won the sultan’s affections over Mahidevran - she was always worried about the wrong stuff!! She couldn’t even get over herself enough to appreciate that the sultan personally came to visit her and gift her with jewelry. No, she’s more worried about a ring. Even Gulsah was sick of her whining there at the end.
It’s so sad that this is a situation women have been in.

Life outside the palace was so much worse. At least here the women were fed and educated. Still an awful situation to be in but so much better than the alternatives.

Mahidvran sounds like a spoiled selfish child… “why’d you give her my ring?” She was just given a beautiful necklace and she’s complaining about a ring that was the Sultan’s to give as he wished… Not good!
Mahidevran doesn't always behave the best, it's true, but I don't think she sounds like a spoiled child here. The ring was, after all, one that Suleiman had been crafting especially for her-it's less about the item itself and more over where she stands in his love (and respect). It wasn't a wise move to bring it up to the sultan himself, but it's perfectly understandable for her to be hurt over this.
@@Redluna32 He may have been making it for her originally but until he physically gave it to her it wasn’t actually her’s as he as Sultan had every right to change his mind about who is gifted with what. 🙂
@@tiffanysanchez9184 I mean, you're kind of focusing on the one part I didn't disagree with you on? As I said, it wasn't wise for her to bring it up to Suleiman, but that doesn't make her behavior akin to a spoiled child. After all, Hürrem employs similar tactics, she's just often better at knowing how to phrase it just right, which I think speaks to how well she's able to understand Suleiman.

@@Redluna32 Even if that were true,she's still at the end of the day a CONCUBINE of Suleiman.Sure she might have given birth to his oldest shezade and was the de facto leader of the harem after Valide but that still doesn't give her the entitled right to monopolize Suleiman's love and attention. He's a sultan after all,he's bound to look at other women someday. In retrospect,Mahidevran should've controlled her emotions and situations better since that could've led to a better future for herself and Mustafa

@@neonacally596 And blamed it on Hurrem, saying that she was so sad because of her, she lost the baby. Everything from then on that happened to her that was bad, was always Hurrem's fault. Never her own doing.

She is just crying for a ring but when sultan Suleiman gifted her a beautiful necklace she got angry and cried like a maniac valide sultan also warned her that she should not just cry for a ring she is a haseki sultan and she should act like that thank goodness Suleiman made hurrem the ruler of the harem because she knows better than mahidevran if mahidevran would become the ruler of the harem she would tell to kill hurrem and take away her ring what a bummer mahidevran is
