Sultan Suleiman gets poisoned...
When Hürrem learns about it, life turns into a nightmare for her. No one knows who has made an attempt on Suleiman's life. That's why Hürrem accuses İbrahim Pasha and Prince Mustafa. A note arrives to Manisa Palace. Sultana Mahidevran gets terrified when she reads what's written on the note. The war between Hürrem and İbrahim gets even bigger. Hürrem sets a trap for İbrahim.
As soon as Hürrem learns that Prince Mehmet will serve in sanjak, she directly goes to Suleiman. However, Hürrem finds Suleiman lying on the floor unconscious as she enters the privy chamber. She provides the doctor's intervention right away. Everyone gets terrified as it's learned that Suleiman has got poisoned.
Hürrem prays for Suleiman to get better. On the other hand, she has to protect her children. She thinks İbrahim and Mustafa have a finger in this. İbrahim gets seriously implicated and he has the bit in his teeth to enlighten this incident.
On the other hand, Manisa Palace gets agitated because of a note received. Mahidevran realizes that there is a spy in the palace. Mustafa's life is in danger. Yahya of Taşlıca starts to investigate it right away. The mysterious spy makes everyone lose their sleep in the palace.
As İbrahim investigates who has poisoned Suleiman, he finds out that Firuze is helped to get to Persian lands. Meanwhile, Hürrem has only one goal, which is to get rid of her nemesis. She sets up a trap that İbrahim rocked.

I'm one of those viewers who think that on certain points Mahidevran raised Mustafa better than Hürrem raised her own children, and on others I think Hürrem did a better job. This situation shows the latter because Hürrem makes her children understand how dangerous the game of throne really is by punishing them when they do things that could cost them their reputation or worst their father's favor.

You know the more I see the more I realise that the only thing magnificent about the century was clothes, buildings, food, jewellery ( of the emperors of course). But all of them were forced to live such miserable lives in the name of royalty. Everyone was forced to give up on their love for the sake of power or to be more precise for the sake of saving their lives cuz the rules of who would ascend the throne were disgusting.

Hurrem just tries to protect her children. And she is the only mother of the show that didn't blame an innocent girl, but Mehmet. It is cruel that Nurbahar lost a man she loved and her child also, it must've been so painful, but Hurrem even said that she would help them, if they told her. And same with Mihrimah. She is a sultana, but still woman in the Ottoman dynasty, and this first love could destroy her whole life and reputation

This is mostly because palace rules were that a prince is not allowed to have offspring until he is sent to govern a province. Therefore he was pretty much breaking the law that could get him in trouble if found out.

When it happened to Mustafa. People got mad at Mahidevran for aborting Efsun's child. Even blamed Mustafa for his negligence. But when it happened to Mehmet, Mihrimah protects his brother and Hürrem is still a good mother for Mehmet. Both of these young men lost their loved ones including their children and both of their mothers think about the throne. I don't understand the double standards between the two. Even Mahidevran wants to protect her son just like Hürrem to her children.
Ofcourse both hurrem and mahidevran are evil for their owm purpose and they are al doing it for survival so both are to blame. But the thing is when something goes wrong mahi blames others for her mistakes whereas hurrem handles it smartly. Here we can see big difference in thier behaviours . Mahi blamed efsun when she found out she's pregnant with Mustafa child whereas hurrem takes out her anger on Mehmet for not taking precautions.

Mustafa and Mehmet would have been killed if this was known. It was forbidden for a reason, to be a prince without a province and getting a concubine pregnant. They weren't protecting their chances to earn the throne, but their chances of survival.

Earlier in either this episode or one previous she asks if they are taking "precautions" and she is told "yes". She knows they're sleeping together, but she also knows they need to be cautious for their own reputation until he is able to actually have children (by their rules). This is why she gets so angry when they didn't just tell her the truth when it happened. If they had she could have easily helped cover it up and let the two stay together.
And how would Hurrem differ from Mahidevran then? Mahidevran allowed Mustafa to hide the pregnant Efsun, and Hurrem took advantage of this. Mustafa, like Mehmed, wanted to be with his girlfriend and their child.

Nurbahar's life was so painful. She was a Christian girl before converting to Islam. Probably she was kidnapped from any European country and later sold into harem just like hurrem. She was separated from her family at an young age. She lost her love and also her unborn child..She seemed to be an innocent girl but lost everything she loved..fate was cruel to her but I don't blame hurrem for this..She kicked her out of palace to protect her son....Whatever happened to Nurbahar was inevitable.

I do understand how hurrem and mirrimah protect their own. The life back then is so very hard and always abide by the rules or traditions. If not, you will suffer consequences. There is another difference between Hurrem and Mahidevaran. Hurrem children very respect to his mother she raised them like that. Even Mustafa love his mother many times he proves he is a prince and his mother just a concubine.

Has nothing to do with getting pregnant. Princes were not allowed to sleep with concubines before they went to their sanjak. The reason being that the harem in the palace is the sultans harem and therefore the concubines are the sultans concubines. If a prince, or generally any man, sleeps with a concubine who’s not his it would considered adultery and therefore punishable and against the law. But when a prince goes to his sanjak he has his own personal harem and therefore can sleep with his concubines.
The show is pretty inconsistent with this rule as we see earlier with mustafa and now Mehmet. But a good representation of this rule is actually in Magnificent Century Kosem, where Kosems son sleeps with a concubine of the sultans harem and the sultan takes the matter very seriously and treats it almost as treason.

The show swept that under the rug for drama as much as, I would imagine, to keep too many separate story lines happening on screen, but there Ottoman law didn't allow for a "harem within a harem" and most of these princes would have already been well on their way to a sanjak already. The one in the Kosem series made much more sense then this one, which only serves to make these princes look like complete idiots.

Suleiman was a Sultan when he started sleeping with Hurrem. He could never get in trouble for this. Mehmed could get in trouble with his father. I think that a prince could start having his own children when he went to his own province. Not before.
