Takeuchi TB260 w/RutMFG Disc Mulcher vs Brush ***in Granite***

  • Part of a project to clear roadside brush. Was very challenging to get close to the ground with all the granite! Trying not to hit any granite with the mulcher...which would certainly have damaged the mulcher and possibly the excavator!
The TB260 High Flow setting was instrumental in getting this mulcher to run correctly and am very happy with this setup!

    Great job avoiding the granite!

Good to finally see a video of one of these mulchers being used in some nasty terrain

Makes me anxious when I spin that disc up and start sweeping in a bush! Do my best to inspect prior to mulching but sometimes there is too much material to see through. Find it best when I take a layer away at a time.

@@NuDig55 looks like you were very careful with it. I have the same excavator and looking closely at one of these mulchers. Will be working around some bedrock. Seems like a perfect size for it.

@@ericrogers1913 nice! A few things to consider, be prepared to enlarge the eyelet on the mount for where the 1.25" pin is inserted, if you're using a manual quick coupler. RUT Mfg was very accommodating but will need some convincing on the inlet & outlet line sizes. Recommend purchasing the male and female hydraulic quick couplers, that mount on machine, from them if you don't have them already. If you're in Northern California I can do a demo for you...

@@NuDig55 appreciate the info. Unfortunately I am in NY or I would take you up on the demonstration.

A quick vid showing the Takeuchi TB260 and RutMFG Disc Mulcher in action against some brush over some granite. Hope you enjoy, was a nailbiter when I was doing the work...really didn't feel like hitting that granite!!!

Do you know if the hydraulic motor in that is fixed displacement or variable? Watched you tightening the leaking hoses, but couldn't see the motor good enough to see a pressure sensor on it.

Can't say. Next time I'm around the machine I will take a couple photos and see if I can post or send to you. If you need an immediate answer then I suggest reaching out directly to @RutMFG
