Takeuchi TB260 w/RutMFG Disc Mulcher vs Brush ***in Granite***
มุมมอง 2.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Part of a project to clear roadside brush. Was very challenging to get close to the ground with all the granite! Trying not to hit any granite with the mulcher...which would certainly have damaged the mulcher and possibly the excavator! The TB260 High Flow setting was instrumental in getting this mulcher to run correctly and am very happy with this setup! @RutMFG @TakeuchiMFG Please like share ...

      @@NuDig55 Yeah, I was thinking I may skip the bottom part altogether. Could extend the top piece another inch or two, but I think that would provide 95% of the coverage which is 1000% better than nothing. Naturally it will get scratched, so I'm not worried about scratches or fading. If it got to the point that it was annoying, I would just replace it. I don't even have a mulcher for the excavator, but I had a decent chunk of wood fly by my head when I was breaking some branches, so I think this is a good idea even without a mulcher! So what is this extra line used for?

    • @NuDig55
      @NuDig55 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. The case drain is intended to act as an un-pressurized conduit from any hydraulic motor mounted at the end of the stick back to the equipment's hydraulic tank. Hydraulic motors, depending on type, will have hydraulic oil blow past the "cylinder" and end up in the case of the hydraulic motor. This conduit is intended to allow for a path back to the tank rather than get "stuck" in the motor and cause failure.

    • @NuDig55
      @NuDig55 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are absolutely correct! Having only 7hrs on the machine I didn't even think to look at the hyd oil level. I suspect that the mechanics who installed the case drain had to partially drain the tank to install ....and forgot to replace! In subsequent vids I had to replenish the oil, at dealerships expense, and is now something that I regularly check. Good eye!

    Is that a 12000 lb matching. Wondering how the 36” would work on on my cat 305

    • @NuDig55
      @NuDig55 ปีที่แล้ว

      About that...around 12300 without the mulcher head. A couple things to consider, the mulcher has some weight to it...suspect around 800-1000 lbs. Take a look at the Cat 305 charts to see if it's rated for that kinda weight over the front and side. I know that with my TB260, which is more of a conventional tail swing, reaching out as far as it will reach to the side, I can mulch but I shouldn't make a sudden movements cause the back of machine will pick up enough to cause the head to lower...just something to consider. Another thing is the flow rate. Not certain what the Cat 305 is rated for but the TB260 high flow setting of 27gpm works well with this mulcher for any pine 6"-. Anything larger than that and I have to lift off of the cut and let the head spool up for another hit or I have to slowly lower the disc onto the tree. I know that RutMfg will size the hydraulic motor to your unit which should ensure it will work as efficiently as possible. I have more videos coming of this combo in action, stay tuned! Hope this helps!

      I'm very pleased with mine, on a lighter machine. The blade carrier is great at dense sapling growth that the disc would just lay down. Or rough mowing over slopes/banks. If you clean much fenceline with it, go a head and order a seal kit. Stray barbed wire is the enemy. My pin was super tight too...quick reamer and good to go. Thanks for the vid.

    You have a very nice machine in your hands, would you like to exchange it with mine? My excavator is an old Kubota KX61-2 from 2002, which I bought used in 2014. Since I live in Quebec, I added a homemade cab, in order to at least cut myself off from the freezing wind in winter. Before cutting the polycarbonate, I had cut the pieces out of a half-inch plywood which I then used as a template for the final polycarbonate cuts. I preferred being able to adjust my cuts on affordable plywood rather than the much more expensive polycarbonate sheets.
