I’d say one thing is he needs to let it wind back up before he comes down on the tree or goes into another one. Other than that seems like a nice attachment
With a disc mulcher you need full disc rpm when cutting and mulching trees. That disc should be turning 1150 -1200 rpm. Teeth sharp at that speed , it’ll be like slicing through butter.
When you go into a tree you know u can mulch in one pass lift it up a few feet and use the right side to lean the tree away from you. When u push forward and make your cut it will suck it in most of the time. I have one and run it almost daily. It’s a gear machine. Also if there is a warranty issue cid will take care of it right away. Great company!
@@SkidSteerSolutionsHow much is the 60’inch? I own a Cat 299 D2 XHP. Hopefully that will turn the disk. Please let me know because I’m also looking at the Rut Industries 60’inch disk.
Hi Hector, clearing time will vary significantly depending on the machine you're running, operator experience, tree type, and what kind of finish the customer is looking for. That's about as straight of an answer as we can give! Thanks for your comment.
Lots of customers use these in hard woods. You'll have to be a little more careful to let the disc regain speed before going into the next tree, and the size of tree you can cut/mulch will be slightly smaller, but this attachment will be efficient in most if not all wood types.
That's a real mulcher! They are made for is, so as long as it is used within the specifications, they will only need general check ups every few months.
you operate the machine incorrectly and not according to the instructions for use ☝️ you have to lift the header up and tilt it at a 45 degree angle. Then the top stem falls into the rotating disc while you push the cutterbar down to graze the rest of the stem. Got it? 😂
"You used it a slightly different way than I did so I'm going to laugh at you and denounce your intelligence to boost my ego and make myself look more experienced than I actually am" I don't value the opinions of people like you. Tips aren't worth much when you're more concerned with acting like a condescending child then giving actual sound advice.
If you're not interested in the talking part, you can skip it and go to the demonstration part. We just try to educate people who want to learn more about the attachment as well as see how it works
Even before you sped up the film to 8x, I was reminded of the cartoon I watched as a kid - “The Tasmanian Devil.”
I own a Cat 299 2 XHP high flow skid steer. I do believe it has 110hp. Will it be able to handle this attachment?
Wow... Great machine, ...
How did Rob do operating? Any tips on proper technique are welcome!

@@colt45orton73 You're absolutely right. When the disc is at peak speed this thing will power through almost anything. Thanks for the comment Colten!

These are so violent I wonder how often they need repairs and maintenance.

I wanna see it on smaller machine
Here's the 44" version on a standard flow machine: th-cam.com/video/SmNYMKQPd2U/w-d-xo.html
Doesn’t matter what brand disc mulcher you buy, they are all the same.
Twin blade is better
Check out the Eterra Typhoon! Everything has a purpose :)

Thanks Lion! We're glad you know how it works ;) Sounds like Rob could learn a lot from you when it comes to operating skills 😂
