A bike, a free afternoon and some nice weather, what a great video mate! Time to relax and put your worries into perspective,, that's what biking is all about!
What more do you want out of life , a lovely day a motorcycle & time to enjoy a ride out & awesome views , you are lucky Dave to have these near your doorstep , so take care & ride safe
Love the video Dave, obviously I do that area from the east coast now. I think the NY Moors are my equivalent to your Dales. You can’t miss out the chalk cliffs of Flamborough and Bempton before going north. We are very fortunate indeed living up here and much of the time take it all for granted. You should let me know if you are in the Flamborough area, the kettle is on
Cheers buddy it’s firmly on my list to get back up there soon so I’ll give you a shout….I was going to do some more filming around Whitby but it was full of pissheads 😂
lovely tour of the Yorkshire countryside Dave, certainly miss it living here in the States,, but nearing retirement so i'm sure a full tour of the UK coastline will be on the agenda.
Brilliant video I know these roads well with living in Hull for the last 6 years I visited these by car many times with my Mrs Gorgeous views Fantastic Missed your videos with work getting in the way
Great video Dave which brought back a lot of memories for me. We used to go on holiday to the North York Moors for many years when the children were young it really is a fantastic area. I need to plan a trip back. Thanks and kind regards, Stephen.
Cheers for this Dave. We are off in that direction for a couple of nights soon. Taking the Classic 350 in the back of the van. Ann can have a sit reading a book, while I visit “Aidensfield”. Been a couple of times previously, and managed to catch their 60’s weekend on both occasions. Really good fun.
Nice one Dave, They used to advertise the area as Whitby, Scarborough, and Filey, out of interest where is Filey located in relation to the other two? Cheers, DINO,PANDA, And the "DINGO'S.
Hi. I did the a similar route a couple of weeks ago but took in Malton as well as Pickering and Grosmont on the way to Whitby via Sleights and also Goathland on the way back to Doncaster. I totally agree about the view at the Hole of Horcum(breath taking for sure). I think that the Go Pro flattens out those steep hills though, i found them a tad intimidating being fairly new to biking but what fantastic vistas i just wish they were a bit nearer to home but any excuse for a day out on the bike in the sun. Keep posting the ace scenic videos.
Excellent video with the exact content to fill my motorcycle ride cravings! Would have liked to see a little more info re the digs & parking arrangements but other than that, superb.
Nice run and lovely countryside... Whilst you were in Goathland, did you see Nick Rowan's Francis Barnet Falcon by any chance? Re the speed camera van, at least they give you a sporting chance, with the thing painted bright yellow with dayglow markings. In fact, if you miss that, I reckon the driver/rider should get done for driving without due care and attention! Here in Oz it can be any sort of vehicle, always unmarked and it turns every parked vehicle into a potential threat. Fixed speed cameras here, apart from those on light-controlled intersections are unmarked, too, as well as generally being painted to merge into the background. Not very sporting. Nice pannier and rack setup on your Interceptor; both stylish and practical.
Thank you….no I didn’t see the Barnet but I know that bike. Trouble is every other maintenance vehicle here has that high vis rear end so it throws people….and that one was hiding in the bushes….naughty 😂
I'm surprised you didn't flick the bike off the road for a bumble around the hole - Granted I know its illegal BUT let's face it, any ramblers you bumbled upon would have just admired the RE and wished you well - try that on the KTM or GS and I bet within seconds they'd have been on the blower to your old mates in Hi-vis (formerly in Blue!) Funny how the look of the bike can alter the outcome!
I'll add to that - I used to do it around Holmfirth on a pretty mint 1992 Kawasaki KH100 and if I tripped over anyone I got nothing but tales of mis-spent youth and how similar it was to the FS1E... But ANYTIME you clocked a dirt bike hit the same paths the boys in Blue shortly followed!
Sherburn, Cawood, Ricall, Wheldrake, Elvington, Stamford Bridge and then coast roads.
Did it yesterday, great run out.
Great route that know it well

Its amazing up that way when all the Heather it out. Bright purple as far as the eye can see.
Yes come August it’ll be stunning
Really enjoyed that. Have not been up that way for years, easy to forget how beautiful it is.
It’s awesome 😎
Beautiful. I've been in NZ for 20 years but I have a mind to send my ashes back to be scattered up there somewhere near Robin Hood's Bay
Yes it is stunning but some of the NZ landscape is too….and a better climate?
The Airbnb folk won't notice....

Quite right the GoPros do not do the landscape justice

Great ride. I prefer to ride up to Thirsk and take the A170 stopping off in Helmsley.
Yes Mike I’ve done that one a few times 👍🏻
