Not sure if the people who recommended this version mentioned this - but he was sick as a dog with the flu during this performance. Which just puts this on a whole other level of vocal craft
I came here via your reaction to Hi Ren and I think I'm staying. Music is just something else, hey. I get very animated when I listen to music (on my own) conducting and all sorts, dancing about, and harmonising. It's my happy place and I see you get it. Fab. Cheers Subscribed :)
my dad was a great musician, he played accordian, played in bands etc. Even after playing nearly 50 years he made the odd slip, but what made him great was was turning it around in such a way that no one else would notice. I only noticed because I grew up watching him lol
I became a DISTURBED fan at 60.... I seek out reactions to this and other Disturbed's music.... I FEEL their songs lyrically and musically deeply... I am so moved by it
There's a version of live performance by David and Miles Kennedy harmonizing this song that is amazing!! And they switch who is higher/lower throughout. I recently saw disturbed perform this live while visiting Melbourne Australia back in March 2024.
Love your emoting to this (and the the previous). Yes. It is what he does which transforms this! And your willingness to show your reaction: worth it! Students introduced me to Disturbed Sods 7 years ago. Now retired I sample reactions to it. Last year I ventured into more of Disturbed's music. Don't wait!
Another version with an interesting take on this song - Geoff Castalucci has covered this. I find every version of this so emotional.. so good.. Disturbed is amazing! Great reaction.
You need to react to one more version of this song...the live version of this Disturbed did with Myles Kennedy in Houston...That is the definitive version in my opinion and its a duet, like the original S&G version.
Bro your reactions just hypes me up 200% for whatever reason. One can only imagine the rnx and facial expression when bro is c......g. EPIC SCENES! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just had to sub
I knew you would enjoy this when I recommended it to you.... I absolutely believe that this is better than the studio version. As has been mentioned, David was reported to be sick during this performance showing what a professional he is. Amazing. Thanks for doing this and I am glad you enjoyed.
I watched an interview with David Draiman and during this live performance he had a lision on his vocalcord and he had 50mg prednison in his body to get the swelling down and had a specialist on call in case something happened.
Thank you! I came here to say that. I don’t know how the rumor started that he had the flu. There are interviews where he explains he had a painful lesion on his vocal cord. But people still comment that he had the flu.
Love your empathy!!!!! Great to share this wirh you.❤ love your analysis and agree in your words totally!!! Learning a lot!!!!! Smoke is out from Dimash. Perhaps something you will enjoy!
This is one of the best covers of a song ever. Could I recommend something rather different but full of just as much emotion and passion. It is Kasey Chambers singing Loose Yourself by Eminem. She is so far from a rapper, yet this song is so powerful and shows the words on a whole different level. I think you would appreciate it. Thanks. Love all these reactions.
Your explanation to this song is in line with my thoughts. It reminds me so much of A Perfect Circle's "Disillusioned". I normally don't recommend music videos when Maynard is vocalizing but this music video is a perfectly beautiful compliment to the lyrics. Please check it out if you have some time. Cheers good Sir!
This live version is beautiful of course, but he wasn't feeling well during this performance. you should listen to the official video of this so you can hear him at his best. Thanks for your reaction to this song... which is beyond beautiful and touching.
I have a suggestion for you: Please check out Dan Vasc, a metal singer from Brazil, sing Nessun Dorma. He's fantastic! Thanks for your great reaction to Disturbed! This is my favourite version of the song. 🥰
Hola desde Argentina... Me encanta tu canal y tus reacciones... Y amo a Disturbed... Pero me encantaría que reaccionaras The soun of silence por Geoff Castelucci... Cómo siempre espectacular y a su propia manera y... Te vas a sorprender... Lo elabora desde una tristeza que te toca el alma... Te mando un abrazo a la distancia!😊
I suspect his vibrato is intentional for this. I'm not 100% sure of that. I'm not a super fan, with some example at hand. I'm not trained vocalist, that can find a clue somewhere else in the song. More, it's the fact the vibrato he uses serves the performance so well, and the performance is so great, it just seems more likely he chose it. Is that fair? I am familiar with his metal music though, where he does some pretty acrobatic things. And as others have noted, he was pretty sick during this performance and still gave a great performance. You can hear touches of nasality here and there, that don't sound bad necessarily, but also weren't in the original. It makes me wonder if we're hearing the illness there. Yet, to be able to successfully adjust to all of that, live... It makes me think he has full control of his instrument and the vibrato was a choice in the arrangement, not just the only one he had available.
Nice reaction! can you also react at my favorit artist Aurora? especially her live performances. you can start with AURORA - RUNAWAY - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. she has many different, but very beautiful and interesting songs. Her voice is amazing
In my opinion, it's unfair and strange that these well-made-up, pretty-smiling girls make a 7-minute reaction video, where they say "wow" three times, "I got chills" once, and "amazing" twice, and get 30K likes for it. Meanwhile, there's a person who dedicates over half an hour to this song, knows what he's talking about, presents it in an interesting way, and gets 344 (okay, now 345) likes in four months.
It's a struggle to be sure which is all the more reason to keep on finding new ways to overcome that hurdle =) Thank you so much for the kind sentiment

I came to say the exact thing.
oh they did, a lot...
Also Autotuned...

Same, but at 58! I love them!
David really means what he sings. But he really pours his soul into "The Sound of Silence".

Just great that you express your feelings while listening - no matter what! Brilliant!
I agree... him reacting with feeling is awesome
Great review. Very impressed
I love how your body reacts to the music ❤

I've watched way too many of these! Your reaction and review was well done! Thank you! David is my favorite vocalist!

Dude, seriously, you're going to have a heart attack!
LMAO! LOVE IT!!! xx
Another guy in Australia the Voice.. hit very bass sound of this song
Love your reaction.. It's the best one I've seen, and i have seen a few.
Brilliant reaction!
I thought at first you heard a heavy Song from them, the way you went...but that's how it must be!! 😃👍🤘
I knew you would enjoy this when I recommended it to you.... I absolutely believe that this is better than the studio version. As has been mentioned, David was reported to be sick during this performance showing what a professional he is. Amazing. Thanks for doing this and I am glad you enjoyed.
Dude, you crack me up! Love the way you REALLY get into it! :)

David was sick with the flu when he performed this, which may be why he was a little off at the start
Daniel, David was very sick while singing this! This man can SING! By the way...try "The Light" by Disturbed... think you'll love it!
Hi, I really like your reviews and your wild connection with music. Thanks and keep going. Greetings from Italy

Now you need to listen to their song Down With the Sickness so you can hear who he REALLY is! That makes these performances even more amazing.

YES, another very talented guy!! LOVE Dan also. ❤
Todas las canciones ejecutadas por Dan Vasc son asombrosas!!!... Ver Getsemaní es obligatorio así como Amazin Grace!
