Aquille "Crimestopper" Carr is Trying to Make the NBA

  • You've probably seen his high school tape. The 5'6 high school phenom, with ball handling skills that remind you of Steve Nash, and court vision that makes you think of Chris Paul. It was all supposed to go as planned for Aquille "Crimestopper" Carr. He would go to Seton Hall, become a star, turn into a lottery pick, and the rest would be history. Instead, right after high school he took his talents to China, where he lasted 5 months. Now, Carr is determined to erase the stigma surrounding small basketball players, and it ready to finish what he started and finally make a NBA roster.

      Gary Clutch Clark Oh, you caught that too, hunh? Just as long as his monkey runs in circles the way he wants him to. The reality is you're an agent- Don't you work for him? You invest in him at this phase at your own risk. When they don't have a name like this guy, they gamble at the hope of taking a bottom rung client that will blow up. If they lose dough they just lose it. And the reality of it is that Carr has always been talented, but he's not tall enough. Let's be real Mugsy was not a dominating player in the NBA. He was a novelty. In order to stand up against the avg guard or p. guard he's needs a minimum of 5'9 to 5'10 height. Otherwise you need open passing plays, 3 pointers, or lane penetration. MY FAVORITE 3 LETTERS ARE ROI.....SMH FUCKTARD. No way that prick could ever be my agent.

    • @mav5318
      @mav5318 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Finn Fisher Ok, not negating athleticism , look at Nate Robinson, extremely athletic but not an overall dominant point guard that is able to do more than create plays. He can't really double as a shooting guard. There are tons of players that are athletic that do not provide optimal value on the court.

    The sad part is that he would have been an outstanding college player. He should have at least attempted to go to college and get his degree. He would have been in a much better position now. When will these kids learn. There are only 450+ NBA jobs, and the odds on a under 6 ft player making it is not good especially at 5'6". Many GMs are not willing to risk their jobs on an undersized player. Education is the way out. It is so sad he will be like the thousands of other talented young men who never made it.

    This shows you that some agents are just out there to make money off young innocent kids, they know dang too well this young man doesn't stand a chance of making it to the NBA without a couple of college basketball seasons under his belt...its a shame how this young man even portrayed himself, the blings, tattoos...and even his inability to speak correct grammar will definitely be a turn-off for most NBA GM's....No question the kid has talent but going to college could have made all the difference

    Man he should have went to play in College and made a name for himself there. He is skilled enough to be relevant and thus scouts might consider him for a late 1st or early 2nd round draft pick. His HS legacy won't mean shit in the pros... but if he had made himself known in the collegiate level.. People might have taken a chance at him.

    I remember hearing about this kid a few years back. He was getting a lot of Division I offers. It's too bad he didn't do a year or two at Seaton Hall. Not everybody can do High School straight to NBA. Even if he has the athleticism and scoring potential, it's not enough. He couple years in Division I could've got him ready for the draft. You gotta think long-term. You can't go running to China the moment somebody waves money in your face.

    • @davidhall4401

      I know your comment is old, but you're absolutely correct. Short guys need to attend college so that scouts can see what they're able to do in a team setting with a legit system. Can he run a team? Can he defend well? Can he move without the ball? Can he shoot? Ect. Most little guys who dominate in highschool average around 30 points, but aren't always demanded to develop higher basketball IQs. No team is going to put a 5'6 player at shooting guard, especially if he's not a great shooter off the catch. With that being said, Carr had the talent to make an NBA roster and should not have asked to be released from the NBA G league team he was on. He wasn't playing bad and even began to come into his own. Just needed to be patient and allow them to develop him. I don't want to speak on his off the court downfall because I don't know, but it seems like the wrong people were in his ear, especially in an area like Baltimore. You have people in those environments who didn't accomplish things and were possibly close to him because they wanted to benefit from his success, rather than finding their own path. He needed to hang around Muggsy Bogues and soak up his knowledge.

    Should've just went to college for one year then enter into the nba draft, if he played anything remotely close to how he did in HS the buzz would've been crazy around his name and easily be a first round pick, I understand the money situation but one year of sacrifice for the endless possibilities that would've happened when he was drafted, there wouldn't be any issue's money wise for him and his family.

    • @champbullard8116
      @champbullard8116 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      i strongly agree.. if you kill in college get the buzz along with more education your good.. but from the interview lets be clear my little soldier is gone need that education.. to many black athletes get money only when playing ball and become broke do to lack of education and money management.. hope the best for the little guy.. leave these females alone if you cant keep from touching them it aint that serious because if ya ass get locked aint no seeing the daughter or ball

    • @jreel
      @jreel 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He would not have got any playing time. Plus he has to feed his daughter. Overseas was the ideal solution.

      Period point blank it looks like the fam is helping with his little one so I would continue on with college and ball.. but once again my man probably isn't into the books as much as the ball.. I would love to see him go pro though but you godda have it in class as well as on the court

    • @jreel
      @jreel 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** He probably felt pressured to be honest. His parents may nor have forced him to make money right away. But they were probably throwing hints and subliminals that he should help out.

    • @jreel
      @jreel 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** College would have been great for him. He could have not only had a far better chance of making the NBA; but also his maturity and take on life would have changed for the better. Whatever the situation, glad he isn't out there selling drugs or gangbanging so that is automatically a positive.

    Had 10 minutes to watch a video on my break at work. I saw this video and thought, hey, that looks cool. How do little players make it and what do they have to face?Unfortunately the video had absolutely nothing to do with the 'stigmas of a short basketball player' cheers for the time waste.

    What college does for little guards is allow them to show they can play against bigger players on a high level... More than any thing Aquille needed to show he learned how to run a team... He is closer to Earl Boykins than any other guard that people attempt to compare him to... I hate how people turned on this kid, he has made mistakes but he can play. He is an NBA athlete, but he has to focus himself and humble himself to work in the things he needs to be a pro and not a show... God bless him and I pray he makes it... and if you happen to read this yourself, I would like to help you with your jump shot form as well as a few other things. Good luck young nigga!!

    that kid has potential to put up alot of points. He may not put up as many as some of the other bigger more experienced legends of the game everyone jumps to conclusions about, but he can def get around pro players and score. If you can play in the d leagues you can survive out on the court in a pro game. Put him in

    Sad story. I bet he spent all his overseas money and today he is struggling. If he would have went to college and got a degree, at least he would have more oppurtunities beyond basketball.

    Hopefully he stays safe no injuries or nothing and finds his way to the league or something that will put hin in a position the support his family at his highest ability because believe it or not the ball may have to stop bouncing at some point and then you have to be pressing pencils on paper or as in our generation pressing keys or screens on a computer.

      No. He decided to not take the $750,000 offered over seas out of high school because of his daughter. So went to the G-League to stay local and not go to Seton Hall University. Had he went to Seton Hall he would’ve made the pros or had he accepted the $750K overseas he would’ve made the league as well.

  • @kurtk5293

    Don't put your trust in people who can't even put on a tie when they come to see you practice, I guess this is why he playing ball over seas. He said he went this route for his daughter, but she still staying in the hood. If he was thinking about his future he would have went to college, got better, got a degree then see what happens. Now if he was going to be drafted out of high school, then I could see pursuing basketball first, but he was not. There is money to be made over seas, I just hope that he gets to spend time with his daughter, because she will need her father.

    I really thing Aquille should just play at a nice team overseas and actually develop his point guard skills. Pick and rolls, setting teammates up, etc.
    Patrick Beverley really became a solid point guard after his overseas experience. Now the Houston Rockets are really benefiting.
    A lot of players want to play in the D-league just in case they get called up the the NBA, but that only happens a few times in a season. You get way more game time experience at overseas.

    He had a chance to squash the assault charge, take some responsibility for that time in his life, move on, better himself- it's definitely possible without admitting guilt on youtube...but instead he ignores it and pretends it's nothing. He wouldn't have gotten community service for something "that never happened"

    He's a good player like many other but just seemed to throw it away. He shouldve pushed toward the NBA draft and stayed focused on that cause now hes gonna work a factory job letting down college for his daughter when he couldve went and gotten drafted...
