- As professional athletes coming into any professional sports, you don't get to determine where you will play for the first years of your career. You don't get to pick your coach, teammates, GM or fans like you do in college. Sometimes it works out for you and sometimes it doesn't. Here's an athlete it didn't workout for as of now. Here's 3 reasons why I think their growth was abruptly stunted. Who knows, maybe they'll return to form. I sure hope so. Thank you for watching. Only if he went to seton hall and not overseas but he had a baby then his mindset totally changed
He shoulda turned into a Basketball TH-camr or Skills Trainer dude had a huge following and even though he wasn’t the top ranked player he was just as famous as the topper ranked players.
Johnny Alvarez good point. Social media allows u to get to a bag in different ways. Gotta be creative.
Social wasnt like how it is now
Jaquan Stokes true. But it's still a easy transition to get in
Facts but hindsight is 20/20
@@jaquanstokes9329 it was
He play for the Baltimore hawks, he is still loved but the wrong peoples got in his ear
His growth was stunted when he had a kid before he graduated. He would’ve went to college if he didn’t have a child
I remember my Highschool played against Patterson back in 2013. The moment he came out the Lockeroom and on to the court he didn't seem real, this man did a reverse in warm ups at only 5'6. Best player I've ever seen in person by far...
I don't care what nobody say Carr was saucy and had the hardest hs nickname ever
If you're a score 1st PG under 6ft be prepared to go overseas, unless you're undeniably unguardable with a High IQ and willingness to accept a lesser role.
Please.....his height definitely stunted his growth. Going 2 jail in high school over domestic violence (whether it was true or not) stunted his growth. Turn over prone, over dribbling 5’6 pg slashing pg WITH A BELOW AVERAGE JUMP SHOT STUNTED HIS GROWTH. I mean come on man....let’s keep it real.
He was very talented. His downfall was he believed the hype, he took bad advice, and he had no self-discipline. Most slept on thing was he couldn’t leave the streets of Baltimore alone.
I agree 100 percent. Carr needed guidance to make the league. Dude definitely had the talent to play on an nba roster, but he did not make the right decisions. When you're 5 ft 6 you must walk the straight and narrow path to make it. A guy who is 6 ft 7 with NBA level talent can get away with having a little bit of an ego problem or bad attitude. I'm not saying Carr had a bad attitude or ego problem, but he should have listened to Muggsey Bogues. Muggsey was at his state championship game and got in his ear, but he didn't make the right choice. Cats who told him to go overseas, instead of playing for Seton Hall, must have saw him as a meal ticket. Dude definitely knew how to use his small size to his advantage. A lot of these young boys are quick, but they don't understand that it takes more than just quickness to create scoring opportunities for themselves and their teammates. One way to be effective at getting into the lane at will against bigger defenders is to go through them, rather than around them. If you go through your defender by getting past him at a tight angle then he can't back in front and cut you off. Carr understood that and with his supreme quickness it was impossible to cut off his angle because he never went around the defender where he thought space was. I would have liked to see him become more of a point guard. Still score, but learn how to involve his teammates. A good coach could have turned him into a 20 and 10 guy, especially if he developed a consistent outside shot and learned to play without the ball. At the NBA level he needed to pick his spots to be effective. College would have helped him accomplish that.
The problem is the system. You can sign a contract with an NHL team and still play hockey at the collegiate level.
This young man was really something to see on the court.Just too bad that he didnt have the right parenting or mentoring to make better decisions.BTW,as already mentioned the baby w/an older woman was a huge growth stunter that was missed.
I remember the crime stopper lol. Good one.
I was waiting for this ...LETS GET IT!
Lol
Yeah I agree he should’ve went overseas and took the cheese 🤦🏽♂️but what we gotta realize is he had a kid in high school so that plays a major role in decision making
He should have took the one year redshirt to build muscle and a better shot just all around grinding I believe if he would have took that route he would have came into Seton Hall his second year a beast
Keep doing your thing brother! Really enjoying all your content.
Thank you bro 🙏🏾
All facts I was a huge fan wish he would’ve just went to college I think that was the roadmap to the league for him. Great video!
He actually made it out the hood for all yall who dont know the story. Dude lived in one of the worst neighborhoods. And he was so cold the gangstas looked out for him. He made it overseas only being bout 5'6 . This here aint no Stunted Growth but amazing story by far...
Did you watch the video???
this video will break records for his chancel
Best highschool mixtape, I've seen in the last decade. The only guy that, didn't have to dunk to get the crowd hype..
Honestly, brilliant channel
Do a piece on Josh Selby!!
@staunted growth Every ball player, even every human, can learn a life lesson or 2 from watching your videos . Keep doing big things bro
Thank you man. I did Josh bro. Check it out
He should have taken that $750,000...as a jr.
I look him up from time to time to see what he’s up to. He was a guy that I really rooted for.
Exciting to watch yes. NBA Prospect i won't say that
DUDE WAS SHORT NBA POINT GUARDS 6-3 6-5 AND 6-7 RIGHT NOW
In his era he had a shot though. The Nate Robinson, IT era
Young Boosie fade 🤣🤣
Do my guy Isaiah whitehead he from my hood in Brooklyn. N the nets in the playoffs without him smh.
Another banger bro. I'm from Mississippi. Do you think you could a video on Malik Newman. Great guard out of the state. Wont 4 state chips. Top guard in his high school class. Defeated several future NBA lottery picks in high school from just our regular public school in the hood. Tried to jump to college after bustin duke down in the tournament but it didn't work out.
Good assessment. The league be on bull ish not throwing catz in the fire. I love seeing people sink or swim
Lets Goooooo.
But didn’t carr get arrested around his 11th grade or 10th grade year? Because I remember he had a issue with his baby momma and that cause him to lose all his college offers because he got arrested around that time.
TOXIC Etc. right!
That’s EXACTLY what happen,Coming from some from Baltimore
And a much older baby momma at that!
ravenaider Am sure she wanted to exploit the naive guy
Thats why this story gotta be told the right way. When I seen 6 minute video I knew it wasn't right.
If He went to Seton hall, he would’ve been in NBA... Got a deal with Under Armour, Boy was Special.... Still giving out that work!
He was definitely the real deal my senior year Patterson beat us(Mervo) 66-33 he had 11&19 and didn’t play the fourth quarter he was killing us so bad during a time out he did push ups on logo. Gym was jammed packed and sold out of course. He was humble outside the court we talked from time to time
If he had some more passing genes he might have made it, but the lack of creative ability when you're a tiny scorer can be deadly to your career.
Shoulda just went to college 🤦🏾♂️
This man is tough
Ayy can you do Josh Selby that dude was nice asf I think he was on the Grizzlies then dissapeared
Man has 40inch vert too NO CAP
Yo that move at 2:59 was nasty

BLAKE DA GREAT damn Cesar Guerrero was my guy i forgot about him lol.
@@everythingbyjohn yessir him and Darius Morris used to kill for that Belmont shore AAU team
BLAKE DA GREAT oh shit lol my guy morris. He made it tho at least to the Lakers.
@@everythingbyjohn yea he did and rodney Purvis
BLAKE DA GREAT wtfff lmao my guy purvis wow. U on a roll lol. He was a BEAST IN HS AND AAU SMH.
He needed to go to college to show the world who he was... he was definitely a NBA player regardless of his size...💯💯💯
Based off what?
@@lilcourtny08 based on how the NBA judges smaller players harder... the smaller you are the harder it is...💯
@@terryjones662 I was saying how was he a NBA player regardless. Look at the ESPN 100 basketball rankings for the year Carr graduated. Only a few made it to the NBA. There is no such thing as a NBA player regardless. It's not like we talking About Zion Williamson or RJ Barrett in highschool. a guy that was ranked higher than Carr that year went undrafted and he was highly ranked and a good basketball player. Fred VanFleet. Carr is not better than him period.
@@lilcourtny08 you ever see him play???Aquille I mean??? Anytime he played no one could stay in front of him... Rankings don't mean a thing... Kawhi Leonard wasn't highly ranked neither was Tim Duncan... It's been countless player who was ranked high and flopped and plenty of players unranked to be great...
Ja Morant wouldn't be in the position he is now without college... but with Aquille we will never know now will we...💯
@@terryjones662 guess what they have though? The shortest player you mentioned was Ja Morant and he is 6'3". Ja Morant is a better player that can play point guard. The NBA don't want a shoot first point guard around 5'4" that was never that good. I saw a few g league games the guy was terrible. Had more turnovers than assist. I don't care about Baltimore high school basketball. Save that. Plenty of guys look good in highschool that don't do shit in college or the next level.
Idk how I ain’t see this
you should do Brandon Knight
I did bro

Wow he turned down the $750K and Seton Hall. What a bad choice. Jeez.
He was also too ahead of his time. NIL could've changed the course of his entire career.
Breh that's FACTS. He would've been worth so much money
imagine this guy in jelly fam
That domestic charge is what cause him to lose his seton hall deal
If he went to D1 school easily first round draft pick he messed up when he went to overseas
Genetics suck sometimes bruh..🤦🏽♂️
His height wud have become a problem for the nba especially on defense and play making he literally wudnt b able to see wats going on half the time
Ben McLemore
He did one with him
How you freshman at 16 tho Cuh !?
He's still ballin out. Check out his 2019 highlights th-cam.com/video/Tyw42SBnMyQ/w-d-xo.html
