  • As professional athletes coming into any professional sports, you don't get to determine where you will play for the first years of your career. You don't get to pick your coach, teammates, GM or fans like you do in college. Sometimes it works out for you and sometimes it doesn't. Here's an athlete it didn't workout for as of now. Here's 3 reasons why I think their growth was abruptly stunted. Who knows, maybe they'll return to form. I sure hope so. Thank you for watching. He shoulda turned into a Basketball TH-camr or Skills Trainer dude had a huge following and even though he wasn’t the top ranked player he was just as famous as the topper ranked players.

    I remember my Highschool played against Patterson back in 2013. The moment he came out the Lockeroom and on to the court he didn't seem real, this man did a reverse in warm ups at only 5'6. Best player I've ever seen in person by far...

    If you're a score 1st PG under 6ft be prepared to go overseas, unless you're undeniably unguardable with a High IQ and willingness to accept a lesser role.

    Please.....his height definitely stunted his growth. Going 2 jail in high school over domestic violence (whether it was true or not) stunted his growth. Turn over prone, over dribbling 5’6 pg slashing pg WITH A BELOW AVERAGE JUMP SHOT STUNTED HIS GROWTH. I mean come on man....let’s keep it real.

    He was very talented. His downfall was he believed the hype, he took bad advice, and he had no self-discipline. Most slept on thing was he couldn’t leave the streets of Baltimore alone.

    • @davidhall4401

      I agree 100 percent. Carr needed guidance to make the league. Dude definitely had the talent to play on an nba roster, but he did not make the right decisions. When you're 5 ft 6 you must walk the straight and narrow path to make it. A guy who is 6 ft 7 with NBA level talent can get away with having a little bit of an ego problem or bad attitude. I'm not saying Carr had a bad attitude or ego problem, but he should have listened to Muggsey Bogues. Muggsey was at his state championship game and got in his ear, but he didn't make the right choice. Cats who told him to go overseas, instead of playing for Seton Hall, must have saw him as a meal ticket. Dude definitely knew how to use his small size to his advantage. A lot of these young boys are quick, but they don't understand that it takes more than just quickness to create scoring opportunities for themselves and their teammates. One way to be effective at getting into the lane at will against bigger defenders is to go through them, rather than around them. If you go through your defender by getting past him at a tight angle then he can't back in front and cut you off. Carr understood that and with his supreme quickness it was impossible to cut off his angle because he never went around the defender where he thought space was. I would have liked to see him become more of a point guard. Still score, but learn how to involve his teammates. A good coach could have turned him into a 20 and 10 guy, especially if he developed a consistent outside shot and learned to play without the ball. At the NBA level he needed to pick his spots to be effective. College would have helped him accomplish that.

      @@terryjones662 I was saying how was he a NBA player regardless. Look at the ESPN 100 basketball rankings for the year Carr graduated. Only a few made it to the NBA. There is no such thing as a NBA player regardless. It's not like we talking About Zion Williamson or RJ Barrett in highschool. a guy that was ranked higher than Carr that year went undrafted and he was highly ranked and a good basketball player. Fred VanFleet. Carr is not better than him period.

      @@lilcourtny08 you ever see him play???Aquille I mean??? Anytime he played no one could stay in front of him... Rankings don't mean a thing... Kawhi Leonard wasn't highly ranked neither was Tim Duncan... It's been countless player who was ranked high and flopped and plenty of players unranked to be great...
      Ja Morant wouldn't be in the position he is now without college... but with Aquille we will never know now will we...💯

    • @lilcourtny08
      @lilcourtny08 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@terryjones662 guess what they have though? The shortest player you mentioned was Ja Morant and he is 6'3". Ja Morant is a better player that can play point guard. The NBA don't want a shoot first point guard around 5'4" that was never that good. I saw a few g league games the guy was terrible. Had more turnovers than assist. I don't care about Baltimore high school basketball. Save that. Plenty of guys look good in highschool that don't do shit in college or the next level.
