Brandon Knight, dude never made a big mistake like bargani or JR Smith, but dude got cooked so often that nobody could take him seriously. Poor man
All because of DeAndre Jordan
@@madnomad3861for me it was kyries crossover during the All star game
Brandon Knight came and played a year in Greece. Straight ass. Too small, too inconsistent, not athletic, not a PG, bad defender.
He was getting minutes in a bad team, that’s all
@@greenmanalishi6963how bout missing a game winning layup😂
@@justinherrera1700and then he tied the game afterwards 😅
Looking at you Ben Simmons. That single possession in the Atlanta Hawks playoff series encapsulates his career perfectly.
lol
And that's the thing his defenders refuse to acknowledge. This wasn't some Nick Anderson situation where a bad moment gave him the yips but a microcosm of his career as a whole.
Bro became a model after that night 😭😭
Yep. Ben Simmons forever a “binafide scrub” after that
In Bens first two seasons he went 🍩 for 17 from 3 and he shot 58% from FT. He was trash. In 33 games in college he shot 1 for 3 from 3 and 67% from FT. Dude was kinda trash once defenses learned to stop guarding him 😂
I 100% thought Denzel valentine would be in this video
Tbh he wasn’t really even good for nba standards
We was never able to ruin his career since it was already ruined lmao
@@JustAChillGamer-kw1rq exactly hell I only think he was so good in college because the college game and maybe even Michigan’s System benefited his style of play
Speaking as a Bulls fan that one shot doesn't even come close to the embarrassment he got getting cooked in the Drew League by a non-NBA player. I never understood the Valentine pick, never liked his game or anything about him. If Patrick Williams had the amount of confidence Valentine had he would've been on the All-NBA team last season lol.
Who
The JR Smith moment was dumb and meme worthy but I've always found the idea that it ultimately made a diference in the Warriors winning the Finals ridiculous. Even if the Cavs won game 1 and they were "confident", that Dubs team was way better, it would have ended in 5 (tops 6) for the Steph-KD Warriors.
He also got the offensive rebound over KD in Oder to even be in that position
@@pattycake1648 the Cavs would have won game 1 and 3 honestly and would have make it a series... Honestly, had JR not made that boneheaded play, LeBron's lost in the Finals wouldn't really that bad... Yes, his finals record would have been 4-6 still but they would look at the 2018 as them being really overmatch and yet still somehow won 2 games at max against that juggernaut GSW team with that team he had in 2018...
Jr smith is a SUCCESSFUL nba player although drunk ....
except Game 1 wouldve been looked at as one of LeBron's classic moments, the way we look at AI's Game 1 performance against the Lakers
@@alexiscando2068Give up, people act like his 2007 sweep with a bag of garbage as teammates counts negatively. That's all you need to know about the lbj haters
I still remember Andrea Bargnani's 41pt game vs the Knicks in 2010, when this guy was going crazy and even tied the game with a big 3. Only for 7 foot Andrea Bargnani to get the ball in the final 5 seconds of the 4th and then get matched up with 6 foot tall Raymond Felton and get completely bodied and Air Ball another game tying 3. Raptors legend!
No mention of Nick Anderson and his 1995 finals free throws is criminal here.
That’s what I was thinking why was that not in here, but maybe Andy a little too young for that
It's new fans making all these NBA channels. They dk shit
Go easy fellas - it belongs on the list but my boy still be pushing out excellent content!!
Because we’ve heard about it for 30 years now you oldheads need to give it a rest
@@nickjones5495that’s common NBA knowledge nobody gives a shit
Atleast for jr smith he won another title with the lakers
Seeing Ben Simmons crumble will always baffle me bro really was on his way
he fumbled the bag lmao
That’s what happens when you’re complacent ,don’t work on your game and just living off talent alone .
@@Rieky22 it's like after his "rookie" year, he just decided "welp my work is done"
Went from being touted as the next Lebron to gradually fading away in the NBA. I'm highly skeptical of him returning to his All-Star form given his lack of mental strength and work ethic.
@@andycanoy863 I don’t think he’ll ever get the chance to ever again
I have to disagree with the whole "we didn't know it at the time" about Ben Simmons. When the game was over it felt like everybody knew he wouldn't play for 76ers again if only for his own safety.
I ain't gonna lie, I tried watching him at LSU and just couldn't figure out the hype. I'm rooting for him to get it figured out and at least become a serviceable pro -- but I just couldn't wrap my head around his "generational" hype. I hope he figures it all out and proves me wrong. Fultz is the same scenario for me.
@@J-Tex-Corporationhe was 6’9 with amazing passing ability, showed flashes of Magic Johnson.
@@J-Tex-Corporationyou couldnt figure out the hype of a 6’9 athletic guard with elite playmaking and defence? I mean the dude was having a good career till that hawks series, its the intangibles, like weak mindset that has been his downfall, if the dude had any kind of passion or drive for the game he would be a 1st ballot hof
@@lun4766 He averaged 4 assists for LSU. Please don't tell me how great of a playmaker he is. I humbly disagree with the majority of your comment so I'll just say thanks for the replay and move along.
@@J-Tex-Corporation4 assist is college is a lot. That's right around what Steve Nash averaged in college. How dumb do you have to be to believe that's a relevant take ?
Ben Simmons didn't have a back injury. The problem he was dealing with was between his legs
Good one
He lost his spine.
His vagina? 🤔🤔
Nick Anderson had two confidence breaking possessions in a row in 95 missing 4 free throws in a row
Nick was never the same after that series
Nick didn't play to badly the season after (95-96) but after that season his shooting went into a tailspin
@@christopher6101 Yeah and he was one of my favorites and he literally did a Ben Simmons. People just don't get the mental and psychological parts of big moments. Like fight or flight definitely can hit a player at the worse moments
Bargnani was a starting 7 foot center with 35-40 minutes a night who couldn't grab more rebounds per season than Rajon Rondo..... being a raps fan back then was painful
Honestly that Ben Simmons play didn’t ruin his career, it just woke us up from the “Next Lebron” hype that we had for him. This is who Ben always was, even since HS. He didn’t want to get better, he wanted the money and fame that came with being an NBA, He relied on natural born athleticism and nothing else. 😂
Right, the media kept saying that he just needed to develop a jump shot like it was a certainly he'd eventually bother to learn. Then the Atlanta series happened and they finally realized "oh so he's just not going to try, never mind"
Who’s us lol
@@Nationof300 is that you Ben???
The anthony rendon of basketball, but no hardware
@@tingaling77 Rendon actually realized his potential before he got paid. I'd say Kawhi is the Rendon of basketball.
Oh boy . When Andy uploads a video , we get addicted.
Agreed !
Another great video thanks Andy!!
JR was just naturally great at basketball. Had all the tools physically. Didn’t have the IQ for greatness but his all time highlight reel is something to behold.
Shooting Guard is my least fav position, but I regularly watch JR Smith highlights. You would NEVER catch me watching MJ or Kobe offensive highlights (only defense), but JR is so wild and hilarious that those compilations have to be enjoyed with a beer and a snack
Ben Simmons is forever a “bonafide scrub”
Dude I remember people calling him the next lebron
Scrubs don't averaged triple doubles dam near
That's really a tough to have their career change after a single possession
My dk is tuff up your wife.. get over it
The Bill Buckners of Basketball!!
As a Raptors fan, I’m still laughing at the fact that we got a first-round pick (became Jakob Poeltl) for Bargnani.
Lol
This and Rudy Gay trades are the beginning of Raptors championship run iirc. They are 2nd and 3rd greatest Masai's trade after the Kawhi for DeRozan.
I would say the Lowry trade as well, but these trades definitely contributed to the Raptors’ championship. Can’t forget the Powell, Ibaka, and Gasol trades as well.
that Deandre Jordan pass and Denzel Valentine during the pandemic 😂
But Deandre ended up winning a title after that pass…
Jr won a championship after that so his career actually went fine tbh he didn’t ruin nothing
That was a free gift championship LeBron handed to him... 2016 is the only well deserved ring JR Smith got
@@alexiscando2068 my point is he got a championship after he did some dumb shit in the finals you saying it was a gift championship really proves my point obviously bron wasn’t too mad if he brought him to LA jr career is what it is he didn’t ruin his career like other people in the video
I think Bron realized that even if they won that game 1, it wouldn’t of mattered. They were still going to lose that series
@@brothaclutch984 That’s what i say & im from Cleveland Ohio we wasn’t winning that series regardless 💯
Out of all of them? Jr. Smith somehow had the happy ending as he had 2 rings, remember Smith and Mcgee were both meme'd at and still had more rings than other superstars like Irving, Damien etc.
That 2020 Lakers team was a huge redeem for many guys there
Great content 👏👏
I love your theme music. Andy don’t ever get rid of it.
imagine being the most fined player in nba history and your name isn't draymond green, ron artest, rasheed wallace or dennis rodman. that is on you ben simmons.
Good vid bro
Ight man JR Smith spent 16 fucking years in the league...
True, but after that play, that dude wasn't even playing anymore
@@TheShapeshifter tbf, that happened at the tail end of his career anyway, so he wasn't gonna last in the league for much longer anyway.
@@thehwguy4293 exactly. He didn't stop playing because of that he stopped playing because he was old... Yet he still somehow found his way onto another LeBron team and won a ring next to him. Andy hoops be on some lame shit sometimes
@@TheMrMasterChief12nigga he was 33 when that shit happened not 43, he still had several years left stop acting like that play aint impacted his career
Not a single play but is Nick Anderson missing those free throws count? I forget what happened after in his career
6:40 "Reaching the 2nd round was their biggest achievement in the Carmelo Anthony era"
Oh, you mean the season where Carmelo got injured and gave rise to Linsanity?
yep
Homie calm down Lin played like a god for 2 weeks then came back down to earth.
You’re acting like he balled out all season
No linsaneity was the season before they won 54 games Lin was not on the 54 win knicks
@@yourhomie7568I thought so lol and you’re right. Part of the reason Linsanity became a thing is because it was only one of the positive things from that season. Didn’t Lin leave the next year because somebody threw him a bag off those 2 weeks?
@@MikeGlasses But it was a fun 2 weeks.
Bargnani saying that while knowing rebounding is part of basketball is extremely wild lol
Everyone clowns JR but no one mentions George Hill choking and clanking that FT 😂😂😂
I do everytime. Especially because the commentators were talking about how good of a ft shooter he was 😂.
When the money gets good, it destroys the game in a way - you have guys fooling the world with their supposed “talent” when in reality they’re just chasing after a bag via hype and good marketing. I’m willing to bet that the majority of the league isn’t even playing for the love of the game - just chasing the almighty dollar.
I WAS SO HIGHHHHHHHHHHH ON BEN
It’s crazy how he never recovered from that!! Absolutely crazy!!
Interesting content
ironically, 2 of them are the Knicks?
holy shit i just found ur channel again
Spending more time talking about Bargnani being a bust than Simmons is absolutely wild😂
“What is he doing folks”…. First time I ever heard Clyde sound aggravated 😂
Denzel Valentine is laughing while watching this video lol
If I were to add an honorable mention, it would be Nick Anderson where he missed 4 consecutive free throws in a must win Game 1 in the 1995 Finals and he was never the same after that.
I’ve been watching you for YEARS… lol I’ve never seen u roast a player like you just did Bragnani 😂😂 that was hilarious
You forgot the most infamous of them all, Nick Anderson's 4 straight missed free throws during 1995 NBA Finals Game 1. After that, Nick became Nick The Brick the rest of his career. 😉🤓
If Simmons does get signed by a team i say the spurs would welcome him he still provides defense abilities and passing spurs only needed a dominant defender which simmons can also convert himself as a big time defender like tony allen did. If Simmons can ever succeed into converting his playstyle into a big time defender that would really be helpful for the spurs this is the only team that simmons can go with.
One of Ben's MOs during his prime was an unwillingness to evolve his game and I don't see Pop being willing to deal with all the drama Ben brings in his wake
Bruh, I have 2 cousins who are Sixers fans, and one of them told me that once the Sixers lost and Ben Simmons playing like dogshit the way he did, she literally felt like she wanted to stop watching basketball all together and I don't blame her one bit. The 76ers has the easiest path to the Conference Finals that year out of any playoff team, and for Ben Simmons to play terrible and costing his team multiple times, yeah I don't blame Phily fans for criticizing him. Now I did pick the Hawks to win that series for 2 reasons, I thought the Kawks had a chance to win the series because I was being delusional, and 2, I just really really the 76ers and their rude and terrible fanbase
Benny-boy scared of dunking over Trae Young was actually an IMPROVE for him in that series! Most offensive possessions he would just take the ball passed the mid-court, pass it to someone and stay there, and the Sixers would play 4 against 5. No wonder they had a ton of turnovers, it's kinda hard to make plays when your opponent can double team without fearing some player is open.
Oh man I totally forgot how much I hated that Toronto floor with the 3D baseline logo. What a terrible choice.
got any caitlyn clark content andy?
i thought your page was shutdownnnn! mann imglad u only change your logoooo❤
I thought this video was gonna mention Denzel Valentine, his career ending similarly to Bargnani with a bad shot losing their team the game. Hopefully he can find a place in the league again
He trash
Hey Andy
you make one mistake the others will be affected that sums up ben Simmons right here a open opportunity and pass it instead its a shame because i taught hes gonna be the next nba superstar hi did but sadly cut short doe to him now being lazy and lying that he will return to form only for him to be sideline so many times
At least he probably uses punctuation when he writes good lord man that is one long sentence you wrote there
@@mac_-mtlmcal thanks i just need to say my opinion on Simmons i say alot in this comment because im disappointed in him now being a bust when in the beginning he had potential but sadly throw it away
bargnani had no iq bro, he was just a 7 foot bigman who can shoot and cant defend the paint, basically dirk with downgrades
You need to add Javaris and Gil's gun possessions ... totally ruined both careers and they didn't even their shots off 😅
When I saw this tittle I knew that Jr Smith was gonna be in this video😭
Exactly! I still can’t believe that my Cavaliers had the golden opportunity to hand Golden State their first Game 1 Finals loss until JR Smith dribbled the ball to half court instead of immediately taking a shot right after grabbing the offensive rebound off the missed 2nd free throw attempt by George Hill! I will never forgive Smith for making one of the biggest mistakes of his life!
@@RSpeller-ym6jj 😂😂😂same
Anyone on the team can call a timeout. You see your teammate dribbling the wrong way when he should put it back up... call the timeout.
You know jr smith was high as hell that first game lol
Ayooooo 🎉
D-Rose not resting that playoff game when they were basically winning 😢
SMH OMG facts 🤦
As much as I wish that were the case, with how high his minutes were, and how he played, it was only a matter of time.
Denzel Valentine literally got kicked out of the NBA for that shot
Imagine how good you have to be to suck this bad
Ben Simmons injured his vajayjay.. 😂
Every year it becomes more and more absurd that Ben Simmons somehow beat out Donovan Mitchell for rookie of the year.
Bargnani has this Italian leadership in WWII in him
2021 playoffs was a weird time in the world and damn Ben last decent season was in 2019
Nice.
Iloveyou you Bro, Andy Hoops. But the real villain is George Hill. I mean, he's paid to make free throws. Damn!
2:19 As an amateur basketball player, I’ve done this a few more times then I liked. You’re right he believes he sucks and shooting was something he was crushed on. If my boy worked for 1 year solid he wouldn’t be what he is today. As well as there’s more behind the scenes.
That game by Ben Simmons might as well be the last game he's ever played.
He's never had a notable game since.
Nice
In five years, you can include the play where Deandre Ayton didn't try to rebound against Denver two playoffs ago. That was when the Suns were done putting up with him. If his career ends soon, that will be the beginning of the end.
Andrea Bargnani playing for the Italian Squad: 😈
Andrea Bargnani playing anywhere else: 🐥
I remember that Italy was a threat for so many years when they had Gallinari, Belinelli and Bargnani(plus Gentile and Datome). He was suddenly a hungry dog and had grit and could make 3s fall from anywhere. That squad was crazy but, as soon as summer was over, Bargnani's energy suddenly bannished. It was also not about NBA's level, bc when he came to Spain to play for Baskonia he was trash and they cut him after a year. I think it was all about his own motivation. Playing with his friends made him give 150% and play thru injuries and pain, but elsewhere it was just a 9-5.
Andy how did chow get uppers in here
The 2019 Game 7 against Toronto is where Simmons career changed. That game was only close because of his very efficient D on Kawhi. Then Embiid had to play hero, cut off Simmons, and give Kawhi the space to get off a shot with the 3rd most space he had in the 2nd half.
I'm 100% sure he was given the task to stay with Kawhi *no matter what* play the Raptors ran for him. But, of course the self-proclaimed "best player in the World" couldn't take a step back and allow Simmons to be the hero. That's why Embiid was crying so hard after the shot went in, and Simmons had that WTF look towards their bench. It could also be why things went so sour with Jimmy Buckets soooo fast (in his Philly local interviews); that they just assumed he was gone and signed Tobias right away.
Ben Simmons will likely get a 1 year Vets Minimum Non Guaranteed contract from the LA Clippers lmfaoo
how about denzel valentines bad 3points attempt versus miami? after that shot he's never seen in the league
Why are you adding loud camera noises
Nick Anderson on the Magic missing them free throws in the finals Vs Houston..
The sad part for J.R Smith, is that George Hill missed 2 free throws and if J. R had passed the ball or just put it right back up, George Hill would have been in this video & not him.
All George hill needed to do was just hit one free throw & they win the game.
He was scared of Trey Young meeting him at the basket 😂
I watched Game 1 of the NBA finals live and mannnn I was SO pissed, but not at the fact of what JR did, but at the fact that, if GEORGE HILL didn’t brick BOTH of his crunch time free throws which led to JR grabbing the rebound, then JR Smith wouldn’t have been the scapegoat of anything from that night.
I was already screaming at George Hill from my couch before JR sold the game into overtime and was even more mad at the fact he didn’t receive as much backlash that JR did
Even at the time the Bargnani trade made absolutely no sense for the Knicks. If i remember correctly at the time, they almost traded for Kyle Lowry instead but pivoted to Bargnani. Who had no value at the time. And the Knicks gave UP picks. What it was like rooting for the Knicks until the past few years and why they were so bad for so long.
Bruh, no Nick Anderson is wild
Ben Simmons isn’t the only one that’s done what he did by passing up an easy bucket. Russ has done it so many times during his seasons where he was focused on averaging a triple double. 😂
Andy is a Knicks fan? He said we
That CAVS vs Warriors Final in 2018, wow LEBRON had no help at all.
Ben Simmons passed the layup 😂😂😂. That shit was classic
I just want to add another player here, "Denzel Valentine, that is not the shot." A lot of people say that is the last possession they ever get to see out of him and that is the one play that ruined his career.
That's really a tough to have their career change after a single possession.
Ben Simmons is a big reason why you can't blame Embiid for the playoff losses. He's always had playoff chokers on his team. Ben Simmons, James Harden, and Tobias Harris are all playoff chokers. It's not fair to put the losses on him
Denzel Valentine?
From an interview with JR...the media calling him a bonehead for the play wasnt the issue, it was his teammates that he says literally rolled with it and that got to him
There's something to be said about bargs' injury troubles too. I don't remember when but there was a good half a season before he wrecked his knee or back where he looked like a legit all star. That injury changed him though. It's quick and nutritious and simply delicious, everyone knows it's primo! iykyk
A damn shame ~ Simmons' rookie season was sweet! He became the only player in NBA history to begin a season with at least 170 points, 100 rebounds, and 80 assists in his team's first 10 games. On 29 November, he had 31 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in a 118-113 win over the Wizards. On 22 February, he scored a career-high 32 points, making two free throws with 5.6 seconds left to complete Philadelphia's rally from five points down in the final minute as the 76ers beat the Chicago Bulls 116-115. On 15 March against the New York Knicks, Simmons recorded his second consecutive triple-double and joined Robertson and Magic Johnson as the third rookie in NBA history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists. A few years later . . .
2:43 you can't blame ben simmons, it's because all time legendary defender trae young was gonna block him
Do feature on when players "get back" fans.. like when Blake Griffin "acted" surprised about something and splashed his drink on fans that annoyed him
Idk why the nets wanted ben simmons 😭😭🤣🤣
I don’t blame Ben. He came off a spin and just saw a body. He’s a passive person so he made what he thought was the right play
2 No.1 picks in the NBA fluked their way to the NBA, all because of their talent. It's not how it should be, but because of their lack of commitment to win, it suffers their careers, and the rest of the team as well.
Who ever scouted ben as the first overall pick needs to be fired....IMMEDIATELY
prime JR on the knicks was actually a very solid player
