just catching up with your vietnam vids. saigon has such a wonderful feel to it. i went there for the first time last year and visited the orphanage i was originally from. such a phenomenal experience. your vids are a great reminder of my time there.
French guy here, it is impressive because when I see the post office, it feels like I am back in my country! enjoy your trip, hope you get to see more of Vietnam. Hue, Along, Da Nang... many more places to see!
You're making me want to revisit Vietnam. Travelled for a month in 2006 from Hanoi to Phu Quoc via train and bus and plane. The traffic seems to be the same, busy crazy. It's a wonderful country with lovely people. Hope to go back soon.
I am planning my trip back to my beloved country Vietnam 🇻🇳 at the end of this year so glad you guys enjoyed the trip and good food, if you guys come back next time definitely try meatbal sandwiches… it’s soooo good.
All I want to say is Tia is freaking adorable. You’re one lucky guy…..ok back to business! I left the country about 40 years ago, everything has changed so much. The only things I can recognize are the post office and the church.
The post office architect was Eiffel who also an architect of Eiffel Tower in Paris. Mr Eiffel left two landmarks in Vietnam. One in the north in Hanoi was the Long Bien bridge and in the south is the post office. We also received a Statue of Liberty from France. This statue is much smaller than in the US. It’s used to be in the lake in Hanoi. When we overthrow the french out of Vietnam, we moved the statue to a small park location, then we melted the statue to get the copper from it to a different project. It’s too bad. You can only see the picture of the statue in some old postcards which are no longer available., except in some archive books today.
That crunch on that Banh mi. You guys should stay in VN for as long as you can. So many things to do and see in the other regions with other ethnic minorities in Vietnam. Hope you guys can do a collab with Max Macfarlin and Chris Lewis some time.
Awesome plan, you're going to get to see the variety of VN's scenery. For what it's worth, a suggestion from an ex expat that lived and worked in VN for 10 yrs, drive slowly. When in doubt, drive slowly regardless of what the locals are doing. Good choice on the semi-automatic, it's too hectic to drive "manual" scooter in VN. Having said that, I think the ride up to Da Lat is going to test your scooter.
That was pork floss or pork fluff they put in the sandwich. It's cooked with a very lean part of pork with lots of salt and pepper until it's almost dry then you smash it to get it fluffy. Eaten various ways. Also have seen it made with chicken. :)
Shame Huynh Hoa was closed, but there are so many delicious other Banh Mi vendors that would give you an amazing roll! So good. The bike looks fantastic, make sure you test that horn out! Looking forward to the future adventures! Will you guys head south at all?
I watched that part 3 times to learn because this will be me sometime “soon”. It may not go as smoothly as you. Crossing the street in Vietnam was always my biggest fear! I got used it in Thailand but over there is a completely different story. At that point, I don’t even need coffee to have the palpitations! I hope you both have an amazing time there.

Yes the post office is very cool 👍 My husband and I went to Cambodia on 2020 for couple days and we forgot to buy the post card over there 🤔 I miss the soursop drink in VN ❤️
Enjoy the road trip.I did one from Hanoi to Danang with my daughter. It took us a week and the scenery was breathtaking It was something we will never forget. Love your videos
Glad you are enjoying your visit to Vietnam. Such an interesting culture and a diverse variety of food. You two are a good couple, please keep sharing these videos.
I've been around your wonderful channel for a long time - since your visit to Munich, to be precise - you were having just 100-200 subs at that time, as far as I remember. But now, you're about to earn the 100K YT-plaque by Xmas of 2022 the latest! It's been so much fun watching your channel grow, and I actually feel like being a part of your journey :-) Thai and Vietnamese cuisine have always been my favorites. Asian foods are unbeatable to me.........
That post card looks amazing. The person taking this is so creative. Has a great eye. I would love to receive this. I spent a little time in Vietnane about 3 years ago. Seeing my son. It was sweet memories.
that flufffy stuff that Tia had in the sandwich was definitely shredded pork. Lean parts of pork was cooked dry and then mashed with wooden club. This ingredient was made to last for while (hence why it is dry and salty :P), very common in vietnamese cuisine.
Loving your videos they are brilliant. Your so blessed to be able to travel and take in the beauty Vietnam has to offer. I guarantee you won’t want to leave!
I tried the Egg coffee in Hanoi and is very nice. For other Vietnam coffee, normally I have to use Google translation to tell them less sweet. Is very sweet.
Ive been waiting for another VN video, and finally i was so excited to see it. So far you are the only TH-camr that has bloopers and I love it. Please make more VN video cause I'm going there aoon.
I am Vietnamese, and I travel to VN a lot, and I live in Canada. The pho is slightly different there, more subtle flavours, but absolutely delicious in both continents. The banh mi tho, way better in VN because I think the bread is incredible. Better than anything you find in France, which is where the Vietnamese got their inspiration from
Like Michael said, the pho is slightly different with a wider, more subtle variety of flavors going on. That said, pho is actually the only dish we have tried in all of Asia so far that is generally pretty close to the US version 🙂 All the Thai foods for example, were way different from a lot of the US versions. Very broadly speaking, of course. I'm sure there's some really awesome, authentic Thai and Vietnamese food in America 🙂
Pho from the states nothing compared to traditionally made in vietnam… pho here has been colonized. I just got back from vietnam… they ask me how do Americans eat their pho? Me: “who adds broccoli or any other bs that shouldn’t be in pho?” 😂
Michael and Sunny, my wife is from Laos, so at home she makes the Lao style. However we go to a good Vietnamese restaurant locally that supposed to very Authentic. But I don’t know as I’ve never been to Vietnam. One day…..
The area where you got your bike is the new urban complex named after the sacred Sala flower in Buddhism, It is believed that Buddha mother grabbed the Sala flower when she gave birth to Buddha , so the huge flower on the bridge representing this legend .
Love your videos. Ho Chi Minh is such a lively city. The food is great. I envy your journey to Hanoi (I hope to visit there soon). Wish you a safe journey and looking forward to your future videos.
two, you got go to Saigon's market, its amazing inside of it! also buy some The old post office is a French style of design when the French was there...its amazing building to see.
Great video. Fun times ahead. I am concerned about the bike. If you each have one fine, otherwise it is way too small in my opinion. I also hope they put extension racks on the bike(s) you absolutely cannot do that trip with packs on your backs. Da Lat is great but I worry about small bike making it well, let alone when you go further north. Also I would recommend doing the Ho Chi Minh road from Da Nang up to Hue, Khe Sanh to Phang Nah and on to Tam Cuc. But then again opinions are like noses, everyone has one. LOL
I stumbled into your video which you guys were in Bali and I have followed since then. I love your channel because you show us the normal life views how local people are living than a 4 or 5 stars hot spots only for fancy travellers. Keep it up and cheers.
Beautiful video, awesome city, the energy and your edit is really great. I’m the guy that also recommended the Pizza place 😄 I hope I get the post card lol

I got the xr150. They didn't have Honda winner at the time. The Ho Chi Minh ROAD close to Lao border is fantastic. Slow going as it's so mountainous but I just poodle along. Guest house options pretty limited and not the best standard. Road into Phong Nha is incredibly scenic.

The Honda Blade 110 should be just fine! We rented Honda Wave 125s in Da Lat, and also Sapa in the north, and you could drive up the side of a house with them. We also took them on dirt tracks. Hondas are very reliable. Recommendation. If Tia can ride a bicycle, she should be fine with a small Honda.
