How do I remember this looking realistic?
For a 1998 game it’s impressive
Its in combat display view where the focus is on the crosshair and view of enemy. In the normal cockpit view it looks very authentic.
Ho-le-shite! I played this game so much when I was a kid! I’m now inspired to go out and find this game and play it again!
My father was obsessed with this game. His deflection shooting was something to see.
Oh my!!! This takes me back. How many countless hours I spent with this sim... it was simply brilliant in the day. Thanks for sharing the video. Great memories. 😄
They seriously need to make MSCFS 2024!
That being said, I'm currently very happy paying IL-2 Sturmovik.
I'd be on the first customers! I loved MSFS Combat Flight Simulator.
That or a Crimson Skies reboot.
Great Video! I started playing this game by 1998 when I was a teenager...and automatically fell in love with ww2 aircrafts. Now I am a private pilot and I remember those days when I played it. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
We must be the same age.. 40

Absolute classic. Really makes me wish for a modern Microsoft developed combat flight sim. The terrain visuals were amazing for the time.
This was a major part of my childhood. thank you for this upload.
@@number1dstapp thanks. I'm sure you played better than me!
This made me remember the awsome SWOTL, Secret weapons of the Luftwaffe, first ttime you could "fly" wunderwaffem.
I played this game for countless of hours on my Pentium 186. Yeah, I'm that old. 🤭
NovaLogic F-22 Raptor on dialup…..👍
Excelente gameplay, un clasico
I still use my on-line callsign. Max Hipshot. Fond memories of an ace spitfire pilot Postman.. but also my Max squadron mates like Caliberguns, Maxi and others.. Ah. days gone by..
I had reconstructed (as close as I could) my old Windows 98 machine from back in the day. Found a new MS Sidewinder Force Feedback (the original one!) joystick online, and this game is just amazing with it!
I had a Sidewinder without force feedback, but a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro works just as well :)
I had this game - spent hours and hours... No joystick only keyboard.
I can't imagine how hard that was
Hehe true. I actually had CFS 2. My 2nd dog fighting game after Jane's USAF. With no other distraction and hours of practice, you do get comfy with the keyboard.
Back in’t day I was able to control with my mouse
Was 14 when it came out! loved it!
Loved this game when I was a kid. Could you do a video of the battle for Europe aswell?
I started playing them but after half a dozen missions I didn't think they'd be very interesting. I might continue now...
I had this.. What a great game
I still have the CD as I do CFS II and III & Jane's WWII and numerous other 1990s such as Microprose EAW including some old Rowan Dos sims with the Dos/Win Flying Corps for there time they were great, through I became an IL-2 and follow on fan in the end. Mind you if my wife 10 odd years ago at the time hadn't decide to throw my Old Intel 486 DX66 and Pentium I with win95 and Dos 6.1 out. I would possibly still be playing a few very so often for good measure.
Hell hath no fury compared to a woman's scorn, despite being innocent of what was falsely accused.
Still life goes on.
Sorry to hear about your loss haha. They're all pretty much still available
Can I still play this on W10? I spent the whole day playing this and AOE2
I use to play this online on msn gaming zone back in the day. the game had no anti cheat so people would modify the planes using notepad to add more guns onto their aircraft. you would see planes with 50 or more guns just making a wall of bullets that would blow you up in a second.
That's hilarious 😂
Any link where I can download it ? I have CFS2 in my old computer but can't find a website for CFS1.
Here you go! www.myabandonware.com/game/microsoft-combat-flight-simulator-wwii-europe-series-a3o
@@Daimo83 Thanks Daimo. I will try it.
The game was downloaded successfully, but the screen is completely black when the mission is started. The screen at the main menu and the sound is well but the screen gets black after loading the mission.
I still have this and the JustFlight BoB add ons, and Mosquito. Problem is they dont work on my newer computer!
I didn't know there were addons for CFS!
The justflight Dambusters is superb. You fly the training missions drop the practice bombs from the Wellington and then fly the entire mission, bomb the Dam and then fly home! all in real time! @@Daimo83
Yes, they work. Just find how.
What OS are you running this on?
Windows 10!
@@Daimo83 Did you copy over the install folder from a different pc?
it feels like i am in that fight but maybe cause i didnt drive it myself. thank pilot that i did not die in the sky
1990's quality CGI. But play it on full realism...
The player is obviously unexperienced... doing things totally wrong and erratically 🤔
Such as?
